      @@XOXO-yv2vg For me honestly it was a lot of things that factored into it.
      1. I stopped taking long hot showers because it really triggered my eczema
      2. I stopped using products with fragrances because it dries my skin out.
      3. I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day which makes my skin feel so much better.
      4. I try to eat more food with omega 3 -fatty acids. honestly game changer.
      5. I only use hydrating products for dry skin. for ex: cera ve hydrating cleanser, krave beauty skin restoring serum.
      6. I use sunscreen.... i don't know why but the after long days in the sun without sunscreen, really dries my skin out.
      7. i stopped switching my products so much and found products that worked for me and sticked to them.
      8. Even if i do all of this, my skin still gets eczema flareups at times, because of weather changes and STRESS.... so I use vaseline and aquaphor to treat it.

    All European (EU) brands are cruelty free, but if they sell in countries like China they have to test on animals but in labs outside Europe because this is illegal here in EU. So maybe this is what makes some people confused. So if product is made in Europe it is not tested on animals. But I heard China has changed some laws about animal testing and cruelty free brands can sell products without animal testing (Urban Decay now sells in China but is still cruelty free)

    • @shayekakhan115
      @shayekakhan115 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The problem is, even if they allow those brands to sell in China, they can get the products tested from themshelves anytime they want. Also, many brands don't test in their country but sell where testing is needed, or get them tested by third parties. So, they can play on a technical loophole, but they are not cruelty free.

    • @evadamole
      @evadamole 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The email Cassandra screencapped in the video states "The only possible exception is if regulatory authority required it for safety or regulatory purposes." Honestly, whether this particular product was tested on animals, doesn't really matter. Vichy has to test their products on animals to sell in China, so Vichy as a brand isn't cruelty-free. Im amazed Hada Labo premium hyaluronic acid didnt get a mention! The stuff is fantastic. The trick to using hyaluronic acid is to mist your face with water first then apply it. That way the moisture is on your skin for the hyaluronic to bind to so it doesnt dry out ur skin. As for Cerave, I absolutely love their Cream to Foam cleanser, I use their Lotion every morning and definitely noticed my skin is so much happier and doesnt dry out.

      I think it might just because she is oily and not used to it. I have had more oily skin most of my life, but recently been more dry so I got the Hydrating Cleanser. At first I didn't real like it, since I was more used to forming cleansers great for oily skin and didn't feel like it was really cleaning my face. But now I use it in the mornings if I feel like I need cleansed and my face feels great! To each their own I guess.

    Vichy is confirmed NOT cruelty-free on their own website using the same type of misleading language used by brands like Kiehl’s.
    “Vichy does not test any of its products or any of its ingredients on animals, anywhere in the world nor does Vichy delegate this task to others. The only possible exception is if regulatory authorities required it for safety or regulatory purposes.”
    That’s the weasely way of saying “we chose profits over morals and decided to sell in mainland China.”

    Many brands donot test on animals themselves and so claim to be cruelty free. But they get their products tested by third parties and/ or use ingredients tested by third parties. So yes, Vichy is not cruelty free. In my opinion, if you talk about just cruelty-free products, you should omit that part. Hope this helps!

      💯 percent spot on. I also tried all of those and and then some had the same dry dehydration and redness. Even when applying " correct" it can literally lead to a broken skin barrier using this form of HA daily. I'm steering clear of sodium hyularonate containing products now which is hard since it's in everything. I think a lot of people did just fine prior to the overly hyped Sodium Hyularonate "HA" craze began. I much prefer Glycerin over Sodium Hyularonate. I think the only one I would try if I was tempted in the future would be Vichy as it's considered TRUE Hyularonic acid.

    This is one of the first time my experience is completely opposite to Cassandra’s. Love the Hado Labo for an inexpensive, liquify HA. But I also love the Skinmedica HA5 for a heavier option. My skin loves both. The Cerave hydrating wash works great for me, as does the Neutrogena hydro wash. I emulsify both with water before applying. The Cerave SA triggers an immediate inflammatory response for me. Ugly peeling for 3 days.
    The Elf Holy Hydration dries my skin out.

    The Vichy mineral89 was....anticlimatic for all the good things I heard. It just felt like I was applying gelatin water. Didn't feel hydrating or moisturizing. Very bummed to stay the least. But maybe I will try it again and this time apply a thicc moisturizer because people keep telling me hyaluronic acid products aren't meant to be used alone or something.
    My fave hyaluronic acid product is Missha Super hyaluron cream. They now have a balm and a gel too and I really wanna try it too if I get the chance. It works wonderfully alone btw.

During 9 months my under eyes were like «flaking» (I think because of a retinol product from Inkey list) and because of that it was impossible to wear concealer. I tried so different products ( I change my primer, my cleanser, my moisturizer, etc.) and that was THE ONE.
