"Sandai Banashi (Three topic story-making)" ~ Japanese traditional comedy in English "RAKUGO" Vol.40
Sandai Banashi is a traditional technique of creating a rakugo story based on three topics given to the performer by the audience. One of the most famous stories created this way was Sanyutei Encho's "Shibahama". Sometimes, the rakugo storyteller creates a story on the spot. Improv comedy rakugo style!
Shinoharu has been working on creating stories in this way, though not on the spot, with his friend Natsu no Kamo in their joint show "Incubate Hanashi no Kai".

Shinoharu, a professional rakugo performer, will be introducing rakugo stories and the charms of rakugo in this program to Fumika, a professional interpreter/translator, who basically has no interest in rakugo nor Shinoharu. The two will be chatting about Japanese culture and tradition in general as well, so even if you're not interested in rakugo, please check it out to know more about Japan.
