    HOW DO YOU reply to every single comment damn bro.

    • @MakeSushi1
      @MakeSushi1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      I went a long time before without answering replies and I felt pretty bad about doing that, 2 weeks ago I decided if someone cares enough to leave a comment I should care enough to reply, since then I had been religiously replying to comments it takes up quite a lot of time but I feel like its worth the effort.
      Also, this channel is an amazing blessing, I should put in the effort that is required to make it the greatest!
      thank you for noticing 😀👍

    That poached egg trick though.... if only eggs came with some kind of a container or shell that would make it possible to like boil the eggs without the contents going everywhere. That would be so nice...

    I've got another trick: you can make a swirl in the water and throw your egg into this water swirl. It will hold your whole egg together and you'll get also a beautiful poached egg.

    • @skyeim

      He has done that before. But it's not a 'trick' it's now you do it. This way is also cool

      that's correct. Table spoon of vinegar, make a small vortex in the oven..drop your egg and see the magic. That's how italian and french do

    • @BobPapadopoulos
      @BobPapadopoulos 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Or just get a really small poaching pot. Eggs can't separate if they got nowhere else to go.

    Mayo recipe taught in cooking school - 2 egg yolks, a bit of mustard. Mix it with the hand mixer not an electric one, and then slowly, bit by bit add 250ml of neutral oil. (the flavor of oil is going to determine the flavor of your mayo so no olive or sunflower oil! We used 'arachide' oil). When you have added all the oil and this came good, add limun juice or vinegar or more mustard, salt and pepper by taste. You can add fried, really thinly sliced bacon or cucumbers or any other thing to make flavored mayo. Add some ketchup in the pure mayo and you got your an 'andalouse sauce', or add in the andalouse some whisky and you made yourself a cocktail sauce... You can make any sauce home, no need to by anything.

      @wweandy123 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Eliote Livey Lihlahk Ise why not? just run it under hot water. metal butter knives shouldn't release any chemicals by heating it.

    • @Barloga
      @Barloga 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think Eliote meant that you shouldn't microvawe metal.

    • @ScarlettTearsOfBlood
      @ScarlettTearsOfBlood 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Microwaving metal is extremely dangerous and hazardous. Because it can create a fire and burn your microwave or ruin your utensil. Instead boil water and place your spoon into the water to heat it (this is also a good strategy for ice cream scoopers as well)

  • @MollyGraceItaly
    @MollyGraceItaly 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Wow, the butter trick is awesome! :)

    • @MollyGraceItaly
      @MollyGraceItaly 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Butter makes you fat either if you slice it, if you fry things in it, if you cut it into chunks or if you grate it :) Sometimes a little bit of butter spreaded on a piece of toasted bread with some jam on it is a little "guilty pleasure" a person can indulge into, once in a while...
      I found this helpful because everytime I try to smear on a toast some butter straight out of the fridge, it comes out messy and the butter does not spread well, and it remains all clumpy :)

    • @BlokeOzzie
      @BlokeOzzie 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I find sugar and carbs more fattening than fats, generally. Body doesn't have to process carbs as much to store them as fat. Protein and fats take more energy to process by the body, and it's actually having too many carbs in your diet that causes bad cholesterol build-up in your body; no-carb diets high in fats (with the exception of trans fats which should be avoided) don't result in high bad cholesterol in your system.

  • @stealthunter14
    @stealthunter14 8 ปีที่แล้ว +211

    I would not recommend using cling film to poach eggs, many contain BPA which can leach into the egg which you then consume. even Cancer Research UK says cling film should not be allowed to touch the food it is covering during microwaving.

    • @clueless_cutie
      @clueless_cutie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Just by an egg poaching set! It's a double boiler for your eggs, usually does 4/5 eggs depending on what brand you get! And you just have to wash a little pan shaped thing. Plus, your egg doesn't need to be scooped out of the water, and is very presentable!

      Yes, the old school recipe is a bit hard ( and more time consuming ) but if it starts to separate you don't have to start from scratch. use that separated mayo and just add other ingredients while still mixing. (I say other ingredients because there are lots of ways to fix separated mayo, just have to look it up :) )

    poached egg is not a good idea because you're using a plastic paper to boil the egg. The pastic gets heated along with the egg and a minute amount of plastic may get mixed with the egg which is not good for health. these days we tell people not to use plastic cups or plastic plates

    • @bernadettavarley
      @bernadettavarley 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      To add to this, plastic when heated (Doesn't have to be boiling point) releases toxic carcinogens that are inside the plastic unless it's BPA free.
      I assume he used BPA free plastic wrap and just forgot to mention it though because his techniques seem pretty smart.

    For the cutting board not to slide, you just put a damp fabric cloth (you know the one for wiping dishes) underneath your board (you can fold it once or twice, depends on how big your board is!) and just cut away! There will be no sliding at all anymore, I guarantee it!
    Have a great day, every day! 🤗

      chocolate mousse contains raw eggs too... As do many recipes... It's safe to eat raw eggs as long as you live in clean environments or are used to your own environment ( like, if you're european, don't eat anything raw in India eg.

      Most of the time, if you live in the UK or North America, the eggs are sterile inside of the shell. As long as the shell's outside doesn't come in contact with the egg yolk, it's fine. (Salmonella chances are in about 1 in 20000.)

      The egg that float mean that they have a gas like chemical In them making them float. And it is also very unhealthy for humans if eaten alone, but it can be used if put in with something else for example making a cake you can use those floating egg for that because the chemicals won't halm you if mixed with comething else.
      Every thing I just said only matters for the people under the age of 13 ... XD

    • @janishart5128
      @janishart5128 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roxey Mecco: What you just said is incorrect - there's no "gas like chemical" in eggs that float, and they are not "unhealthy for humans, if eaten alone"!! They float, because they are less than fresh, as he said, because as eggs age, there is more and more air space created, as the volume of the egg shrinks. They are still perfectly safe to eat.

      Oh, I didn't think of that. Isn't it when it reacts somehow with oxygen? But people wrap aluminium around meat in oven, so maybe it's all right if it's done quickly.

      I honestly have no idea. I think it's just the aluminum. I know they say pickles are bad for you and they contain alum. My mom told me that foil isn't the best thing to cook in.

      I only know that food is unopened aluminium cans is perfectly fine, but you shouldn't store food in them once they've been open. I think someone told me that the aluminium reacts with air and then release something bad in the food. I'll have to go and look it up later!

    Tell them MORE about ginger. The problem 90% of the world faces with ginger is that it is "Stringy"... and that means it's OLD ginger. Trash it. When you slice into ginger, absolutely NO strings should be apparent. It's supposed to be wet, lush, crisp almost like water chessnut... Most people want coin cuts or julienne slices. When they try to do this, they get discouraged seeing all the woody strings. Bad Ginger... It's NOT supposed to do this.
    This means your local market is not taking care of its ginger. I've had issues with Stater Brothers, Albertsons, Vons, (Safeways), only Ralphs and Food4Less (and some asian marts) have good ginger that don't string up on you.

      Honestly, it’s because Americans don’t check for how fresh the ginger is, and also because ginger travels around the world for weeks to months before reaching the market shelves. The consumer should just be smarter about picking produce.

    I kinda don't think it's a good idea to boil plastic wrap..

    • @christenswales3250
      @christenswales3250 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I use plastic wrap to blind bake in 190°C ovens. It doesn't melt.

    • @cristinaarnett3299

      Wow. I'd be worried.about what god awful chemicals are leaching into the food?

    • @dominika727
      @dominika727 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      +Christen Swales At high temperature it's going to release a lot of harmful chemicals, that's why you shouldn't even pour hot drinks into plastic bottles/cups or use cling film for ovens either. Butter and flour on the bottom of the baking tray will prevent cakes from sticking to the tray or even use an aluminium wrap if you don't want to use baking parchment, it's cheaper and way better than using a cling film.

    • @christenswales3250
      @christenswales3250 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Phan blind baking is where you put lentils in the shell of a crust so it doesnt puff up while baking. My Tafe teacher has specifically told me that plastic wrap is safe for this. However, Australia must be different to other countries.

    • @dominika727
      @dominika727 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Christen Swales Maybe, but personally I wouldn't use that technique myself.
