@@RosarioCooking I just made one and mine needed more than 20 mi it’s but I’m still enjoying it thanks ! I didn’t have the ingredients to make the sauce so I’m using Caesar Dressing which is ok. I didn’t do flour but cut it and dipped it in egg and then did the bread crumbs with lots of seasoning 🥰
That lid hack! Genius!!! I love onions! ALL onions! Fried, raw, baked, sauteed, breaded, yellow, white, vedalia, green, leeks...all are so delicious! If anyone else loves onions as much as I do....try them on a BLT. You'll never go back! (I actually add American cheese, too. I call it a BLTCO (bacon, lettuce tomato, cheese and onion) or BLT deluxe)
@mariaw.5412 you will need to remove a lot of material from the knife to renew the edge to its former glory. So by using this method you are severely shortening the lifespan of the blade. It's the reason we use cutting boards and not plates.
This is the first time I’ve seen this done. Love your technique! I’ve never tried this before and often wondered how to do this! Your demonstration turned out beautifully!🤗
Yeah, as others have said it’s just like Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion! I miss those since moving from the USA. The dipping sauce looks really good! Thank-you for the recipe.
Interesting! I might have to try it. Hard to get up for trying recipes when one is a singleton. I haven’t had a blooming onion in years, but I liked them.
Are you one of those people who don't chew with your mouth closed while eating chips and salsa at the Mexican restaurant? That shits annoying to us with misophonia so it would be great if people think of others in public 🤷
To send the dipping sauce right over the top, try replacing the sour cream with an equal amount of cream-style horseradish (like Arby's Horsey Sauce). You're welcome! 😊 👍
Delightful. This is like cooking meditation! The sound and actions pair with music... You've made your cooking art!! The other day I was slicing an onion and slowed down just to listen to the sound...like these videos...it was enjoyable. Thank You!
This is a nice recipe that I will try. Thank you for sharing it. It may not be the first one I've seen, showing how to make blooming onions, but it's a good one. The dressing you made (sauce), I've seen it called "Thousand Island" Thank you. Happy New Year from SE Michigan.
Ich würde das jetzt unbedingt probieren wollen! 🤤 Kenne diese Zwiebel nur ausfritiert... Das muss ich mal probieren Ein schönes und gesundes neues Jahr wünsche ich dir und deiner Familie ❤
Hello my new friend. Thank you 🙏 for sharing. This looks so delicious. Definitely going to try this recipe. I have left a gift for you 🙏🛎️Happy new year to you and your family and God bless everyone.🙏😋👍🛎️💕🌍
Hello 👋 from America 🇺🇸, Even though I'm vegan 🌱 I loved your video ❣️. I can easily take your detailed outline of this yummy 😋 recipe and make it vegan. I really appreciate your step 🪜 by step 🪜 approach, you make it very easy to follow😁 Thank you 🤗so much for sharing✨✨✨✨
The key to success with this recipe is the type of onion used. It won’t work with every onion, it must be a large sweet onion with a mild flavour. This type of appetizer is served in restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse and The Keg and the dipping sauce is likely a similar recipe as well.
They say never to spray your air fryer rack with cooking spray. But I noticed you said oil spray. If it's an actual cooking oil spray it'll probably be okay. But the stuff in the cooking sprays can remove the non-stick quality of your grill I've had it happen before more than once and now I use parchment paper liners or silicone liners.
Correct. TOO MANY Internet chefs ignorantly tell people to use cooking spray in their air fryer and nonstick pans. That's bad because the spray has lecithin, the protein that makes eggs so hard to scrub off. When you subject lecithin to high heat, it bakes onto the nonstick surface. Repeated coatings will cause carbonization, which is pretty much impossible to remove.
Thanks for the tip about soaking out the stinging chemical. I have an "allergy" (or food intolerance) to raw onion (cut one in the same HOUSE as me and my eyes will be swollen shut in minutes so you can imagine how I react to eating them). I can eat them cooked but i have to ve so careful to make sure they are cooked enough. That stinging chemical seems to be the cuplprit though, since cooking breaks it down, so removing it might be the answer!
If you are intolerant to onions, it is probably best to avoid them completely, however you can also change the water several times to remove the stinging substance even more.

Should be made with chickpea flour or a.k.a chat flour. If you use regular white flour! You'll lose the Indian authentic taste and texture.
My only suggestion for this recipe, try substituting the sweet paprika for smoked paprika. 👍👍

Use of a lid for cutting is perfect!
Not for the knife lol
@@jbaz964 That’s why they’re invented knife sharpeners. 😊
Upon seeing the metal lid I decided I am going to use a plastic lid to protect my knife’s edge.

@sandybruce9092: "Use of a lid for cutting is perfect!" I generally use a knife for cutting.
Classic Outback blooming onion. I'd add some grated Parmigiano to the bread crumbs.
That’s why you add what you want to recipes. The recipe is simple a guide to how to make it. I always change recipes to add what I like.
This is the first time I’ve seen this done. Love your technique! I’ve never tried this before and often wondered how to do this! Your demonstration turned out beautifully!🤗
Thank you! 😊❤️
Good to see someone with nicely shaped, manicured, clean hands making a cooking video.
Nicely shaped? What kind of videos are you watching?
Yeah, as others have said it’s just like Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion! I miss those since moving from the USA. The dipping sauce looks really good! Thank-you for the recipe.
Fabulous recipe, can’t wait to try. And the video was great. Short and to the point. From Missouri, USA.
Looks scrumptious and much healthier than deep frying!
I love Bloomin’ Onions. This looks great! Thanks. 🇨🇦
Canadian here wonderful onion just 👍 great
Interesting! I might have to try it. Hard to get up for trying recipes when one is a singleton. I haven’t had a blooming onion in years, but I liked them.
No I love the brown crispy edges 😋😋 can’t wait to try 😋 thank you 😊
This onion was a popular appetizer at a restaurant called Outback in the USA. They served it with a side of french dressing.
As far as I know it still is! This is wonderful idea and if I had an air fryer I’d do this, but it’s not new!
@@sandybruce9092. I’m here to tell you it still is!!!
It wasn't French dressing. It was more like the ketchup mayo sour cream dip she made.
Greetings from London UK, what a brilliant hack for chopping and 'calming' onions and what a clever and unusual, and tasty air fry recipe :) :) :)
Most excellent simple way to enjoy a blooming onion at home!! Thanks for sharing your recipe!!

Looks very similar to the Blooming Onion at Outback or the Cactus Blossom at Texas Roadhouse. I think I will try it with Panko breadcrumbs.
Absolutely lovely I'm from the UK 😊

Thank you for posting!
Using lid to pprevent cutting through is a good idea!
I'm watching from Bangkok.

I always spray my a f pan with avacado oil
Not to spray w Pam type crap. Plain oil is ok.
I use an old spray oil bottle (Cleaned out) with rapeseed oil in it as it has a high burn point.

This looks bloody lovely. I will try it but maybe get some curry spices and flavours into it. Great work.
Good idea adding curry, thank you, i'm happy you liked it! 😊❤️

Hi THANKS FROM NEW ZEALAND!
Excellent
I did the same but deep fried it and it was fantastic
Damn😆, looks & sounds amazing 👍💯.
Brilliant..thank you. I’m thinking a tablespoon of nutritional yeast added to the flour along with some smoked paprika might be an option
Good idea
