If you’re not getting night time, check your opening hours for the “zoo”. If the closing time is before nightfall you won’t get night.
I opened a park in Europe and it rains and gets dark at 8pm. Night went on for AGES!
Instead of calling it a Zoo, call it a National Park maybe? Either way, love all of this
Or even just a wildlife sanctuary/wildlife park
There are many types of "zoos" in the world. I really love this more natural setting for the first one. I appreciate that it is not too much like a traditional zoo.
Aren't National Parks state funded or protected?

The wrecked village was such a good idea, but an even better idea is if you made the bengal tiger habitat around like an abandoned temple somewhere in the mountains 😍
I love this way of building a 'zoo'! It focuses on the animals and their ecosystems instead of the customers and that's the whole purpose of conservation! :)

Hey Connor I have a little suggestion for the tiger exhibit. So there's a national park in India called Ranthambore and there's a lake in the park and it has ruins on the shoreline, and the tigers in the park really like that place, to the point where they battle for who controls that part of the park.

Oh that would be nice fish! They could make a fish spawner like the coolers/water fall things but that spawn fish!
I agree. Adding fish to water sources would make them more lively and a nice part of the water landscapes. A lot of zoos have ponds with fish in them.
Oooh I like this idea and seems more feasible than actual fish.
The Bengal Tiger exhibit could be located at the 'heart' of the forest with an ancient forgotten southeastern temple that the fishing village elders tell stories of from a long time ago and how the civilisation fell and they might host a festival every year for it. P.s. it really bothers me that birds don't make nests and lay eggs in PZ.

Ah, flamingos. Such beautiful dinosaurs they are. One of my favorite birds along with toucans and pelicans. Glad they're in the game, but can they fly? If they're flightless in-game, that's a shame.
they don't really fly in real zoos as they usually only fly to migrate
They dont fly but they do flap their wings and jump
Zoos probably clip their wings otherwise they would loose all their flamingos all the time.

btw you can "move" the keeper/vet/mechanic to the action manually.

Flamingos are the definition of elegance.
ooh another point of a shipwreck or a single rock in an otherwise empty sea bottom attracting so much life is because any point like that gives organisms like corals and sponges a bit of hight where it's easier to catch nutrients in the water! But I really like how you take that into your habitats!

For the tiger exhibit you can make it like a thrill seeker exhibit eher they walk through or walk sown a path that has fence on both side and are connected by a bridge,it can be like a deep forest exhibit

You could try and have the tiger hidden in the woods to make more of a thick jungle feeling maybe an abandoned part of the village that’s been now taken over by the tiger
I feel like the idea of a sunken village would have worked better for the saltwater crocodile.
You shouldn’t have to justify if it’s a zoo or not. It is and I think it’s a original design and layout and I think it’s great .

I love your videos! They've been great while i've been playing Planet Zoo. Just a tip - You can adjust time to someeee extent. I know you mentioned you wanted to see night mode so?! Go to Zoo -> Overview | Opening Hours. Thought it might help! Keep up the amazing work!
Yeah I'm thinking the problem is that my zoo is never open at night so it simply skips it

I think the zoo looks amazing!!
When you place pathing over water it causes to not put water back in again. I noticed it during the beta. You might try to part the water with the brick barrier or so (something that keeps the water in right around the path and you can delete that rest. Make adjustments, put water back in and remove the brick. No idea if it works but it's worth the try.
To make it less day or night you can change the zoo's opening hours in the menu where you change the entree fee too. It just skips over the hours the park is closed all together.

In the Zoo menu, where you set prices, you can also set what hours your park is open for. Just set that to include night.
The local zoo for me has its heavily themed areas with exactly the kind of added detail of carts with fake fruit and stuff like that. So whilst it may not be a typical exhibit to exhibit zoo like some people want, it looks perfectly fine to me, and actually a lot more normal. I think animals would prefer to be in a habitat and area that looks like their home rather than just exhibit next to exhibit. Spice it up and do what you want.
The day cycle is based on the hours your zoo is open. At least in challenge it is, I cant play franchise right now. If you click your zoo entrance it should let you slide the hours it's open and that let me kinda force day/ night cycle so I could see it.
dont worry, you can still change the time of day! hover over the date on the bottom right then when it turns into something else click on it. it has the day/night setting like it was in the beta. (at least this worked for me on sandbox mode, sorry if it doesn’t work for you on franchise mode)
What if you made that blank area of the water look like a collapsed walkway with parts submerged and corners jutting out of the water. You could also make some boarded up looking houses and shelters along the paths to hide the generators and water filters. But I do love this park/reserve! Keep up the great work!!

I believe your day/night cycle depends on the hours your zoo is open. So if your zoo’s only open during the day, it’ll all ways be day time in game. So try adjusting your zoo’s operating hours
For nighttime check zoo overall panell and change your zoo opening houres. It might be your zoo opens after sunrise and closes befor sunsett.
You should build a small island with food or enrichment or shelter (which you could disguise as a fishing hut or something) closer to the village that they will go to.
Slot you can select multiple animals and then click move quick tip

Someone probably already said this, but I think the night and day cycle in the game is tied to when your zoo is open. so the game wont show you when the zoo is closed because reasons, so if your zoo is closed at night time you wont see your zoo at night time. hope that makes sense
I think it would look really good if you changed the terrain under the water :) the grass under the water looks a bit strange
You can adjust the zoo opening and closing times in the zoo panel - I haven't tried it yet but it might fix the lack of night?

I think it's the dirty water which is making the flamingos stick on land cause I made a full on water exhibit in my park and just some islandy bits here and there they just mostly swim in the water most of the time
Planet zoo needs more fish, even if it's just some carp, it'll make this "fishing village" seem more complete.

When you are putting multiple animals in a habitat, just use shift to choose all animals your using! Hope this helps :P
I know you've mentioned that you don't understand the point of the wind turbine and solar panel. I don't understand all of it, but they're both less ugly and less noisy than the transformer, so guests don't mind them so much. And a solar panel is silent, so guests literally don't care about it at all. So their radius of power is smaller, but they're much less bothersome to guests, so you can put them pretty much anywhere.
Hi you can just put the water treatment in the sunken houses for a cleaner water for the flamingos.

idk if you've already done the tiger exhibit but i saw a documentary where there were tigers hanging out in dilapidated or abandoned villages / temples (i think it was in india) so you could have fallen down stone walls nd stuff :D
If it works the same as planet coaster than you can try to make the close time different somewhere in the zoo menu

The game says flamingos can have 10 - 500 in a group. 500 is a bit too much, but I'm tempted to have around 100.
what if you can remove the water in the flamingo enclosure to dot a few land islands or add a land bridge to place enrichment to entice the flamingos closer to the viewing areas? You might have to delete the fence though to fix the water and re-due the fence though.
Flamingos don't eat fish the eat brine so it makes sense you can't see it.

You could call it a Zoo if you want to. It does exhibit animals. However you can also just call it a Park. Just figure out a name and then put Park at the end.
Like the most generic name ever: Flamingo Park.
Or maybe just name the park after the village. Surely the village has a name.

click an animal then then shif click another and you can move multiple animals at once. life saver that was when you like 10 animals to move to the same habitat
I would of made the flamingo area underneath the fishing area so you can always see animals @bestinslot

You have to change what times the zoo is open for. If ur zoo closes late at night u will get the night.

I know you don't want it to look like a zoo but you need to add more amenities for the guest. They have too long of walk , no food, water or drinks all over, bathrooms benches and some kind of cover they look hot. I went to the Detroit zoo when my daughter was little and hated it, it was hot the animals were too far away and they were too far apart. BTW change the park hours so you can see nighttime mode.

Why you only have day time is becouse you can only see the zoo when its open. To make the open time to be in the night too you need to go to your zoo management window (hope I translated it correctly becouse my game is in swedish) and in the upper left corner there should be an thing to change the open time.
