    I would choose the SL7 but that’s just cause I‘m more dedicated to brand for now, except I can choose the Colnago Rim Brake version. But whatever it is, all Bikes in the Tour are top notch, especially for us mortals. The most interesting is, that Pogačar took the Rim Brake Version for the Mountains which proofs again, wheight matters! Long live the Rim Brake♥️

    I will definitely go with the Tarmac SL 7 S Works all day. I am also interested in the new Merida bike 🚲 picking up all those stage wins too. You should show the rim brake version next time because that was the bike that actually won 🏆 a stage. 😝

    Focus Izalco Max 9 is very similar profile as V3R colnago and less weight, and a few $$$ less groupset against groupset, too bad they don't have any pro teams in the tour, it is not just because of the bikes that make them win, they happen to sponsor the best riders i.e. marketing

      @@GCPerformance18 I'm in Japan right now and I can go down to the store right now and get ahold of Shimano. And, to really blow your mind a little bit, I can also get ahold of an Ultegra-equipped CAAD13 for the rough equivalent of USD2100 (rim brakes) where I would have to pay USD1000 more for disc 105 in the US because they won't even sell the rim Ultegra setup at home.

    • @jamiegrant8764
      @jamiegrant8764 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GCPerformance18 could be that since the late 90s when off the shelf bikes became the norm is when Shimano really started pushing their groupsets to the manufacturer's to get market dominance and probably run their factories at near capacity production (to meet then pre 2020 demand) and probably run a lean supply chain to keep costs and stock of materials low but when the pandemic hit and factories closed or were on reduced staffing and coinciding with a global explosion in bikes with people not using public transport or working as much they just couldn't meet the new demand. The lack of available space on container ships and a huge price increase in container costs didn't help either. Are they not now investing around $300 million in new factories.

      @@blaablaa1718 ; why an extra bottle? Uci limit is 6.8kg .. how much difference in weight would their bikes really have? Few bars and gels? That ain’t it. They drink/eat, get bidons, loose bidons.. wout van aert made sure vingegaard was on top of every climb mostly as first (safe downhill).. Wout van aert weighs about 80kgs. Who was able to follow him on the ventoux? Who won latest timetrail, and yesterdays sprint in Paris? Don’t you think weight matters there aswell? Also; aero (more heavy bikes) have also advantage going uphill (until certain % vs speed ofcourse).. and then ineos with all rimbrake.. how much did they win? Add to that that f.e. Jumbo Visma was only 4 guys left.. 4 stage wins and second place overall, with losing their front-man Roglic. Ofcourse more to that story but overall an amazing achievement. Add to that this was one of the fastest tdf’s ever… there is more to it than weight of the bike..
      Ofcourse, if only thing you care about is climbing as fast as possible, non-uci limit, you can get your bike below 5kg.. like, no paint, loose gears etc.. but luckily cycling is more than that.

    • @rcg9573
      @rcg9573 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same exact thing applies to Tour wins for Specialized. They have loads of wins because they have spent massive $$$ sponsoring loads of the best and highest budgeted teams and riders over the years. Races are won by the rider, not the bike!
      There are literally dozens of frame makers out there, who do not have a single TDF stage win to their name because they have never sponsored a team. But their bikes ride as well if not better than any mass produced cookie cutter Specialized or Colnago does.
      Heck, you could put Pogacar on a 40 year old used steel frame with the most non-aero low profile wheels you could find from that era and he’d still be easily leading this Tour.
      Specialized just has a huge sponsorship and marketing budget, and ALL those costs get passed on to the consumer. Same as Trek. TDF wins have nothing to do with the relative quality of the frame makers frameset or grouppo installed. That is reality though gullible lemmings can be easily conned to believe otherwise. 😆

    The SL7 is the one dominating with 7 stage wins from 4 riders. The V3RS is ridden by the dominant rider so the bike is not dominant.

    What is that ugly looking rubber where the seat post goes into the colnago frame. I am sure I would go for the much better looking SL7.

    What a sad era of archaic and heavily UCI regulated frame design we ride in! There was a time when a road bike was sexy - not anymore! Just another two black coloured boring flawed frame designs! I'll stick to my horizontal top tube Colnago C50 that is coloured in beautiful art decor - oh, and still win races on it!

      There is always a group of ppl who swear by bikes that dominate the races where credit are given to equipment and not the cyclist. 5 years ago when I just started road cycling, everyone is telling me Pinarello F8 and the rest is junk. End of discussion. Now looking at the result. Pretty much nothing to discuss about them. 😂

      And the colnago is equipped with Bora WTO or Bora ultra wheels, the WTO being a top leading aero wheel, which do make a difference. AFAIK there wasn't a single mechanical failure on the UAE teams bikes for the whole of the TdF, correct me if I'm wrong. Quality of components can have a serious impact on a race.
