- What's it like riding a bike designed to win the Tour de France? The new Colnago V4Rs has been designed for just that reason and I've been riding it for a month to find out what it's like. Join me for a full tour of the bike, the things I love and hate and what it's like to ride.

I absolutely love your channel.
Thank you for another wonderful video.
that colnago is absolutely beautiful!!
Il have two of them cheap as chips!! Great content as usual David.
Thank you for another great video and review, Arthur. Keep up the good work. Would love to see a review of factor and aurum bikes on you channel
Best wishes
Mads
Thanks! Will do!
Fantastic review, Colnago is the best in the business!
The geometry between this and the C68 are so similar. I noticed that you don't have much to say when it came to comparing the V4RS and C68 and I can probably understand why - I actually think there are few discernible differences. I'm lucky enough to have the C68 (can remembering pestering you to hurry up with your review) and think it's almost aero quick and incredibly comfortable, I'd say it's one of the best road bikes I've had. If the V4RS is noticably quicker then it will be an incredible machine. Folks can moan about the price tag and say what else you can get for half the price etc, but I'd say well done Colnago for making such excellent machines. thanks for a great review.
I've been testing out Scott's Foil Ultimate RC which is their Tour de France bike and I must say I've been really impressed with the speed and comfort levels. I've nothing to compare it too as I've not ridden anything else like it as I'm not a roadie preferring my drop bar bikes on gravel.
I’m getting a great education……the technology has made great strides from the bikes I once associated with in the seventies. I’m now looking for an upgrade and still enjoy riding.
Another great video - thanks David. Interested in your thoughts on the V4RS versus the new Cannondale Supersix Evo that you tested a little while back? Both are new bikes, both make claims to be better than the old version and both are in the TdF this year, although only the V4RS has won a stage so far...
Great review, worth the wait....I think this trumps the Dogma F and S-Works are two a penny now
Hello David, great review, have you ridden the v4rs’ predecessor the v3rs and is there much difference?
Just ridiculously expensive for what it is. You can get a Cube Lightening Air frame (also in the TdF this year) for around half the price (including handebars, stem and seatpost).
A Cube is not a Colnago.
@@TheBarts27 A Colnago is not a Cube...
That’s like, “don’t buy a Ferrari, Honda engines win F1 races too”
@@tsubasaboringnoteactually that concept is theoretical given it hasn't been proven in real life.
When spending so much money on a bike you better buy the bike that is feels special (to you). You can also buy a bike with ratio, but for me it is emotion that counts. Colnago is history and style. Thats why I bought an S-works Sl7 myself. I would like to add this Colango to the collection. :-)
Factor was the first brand to use SLT ceramic speed though, starting with the Ostro.
You had this for a MONTH? Dang, dude; you are the luckiest man I know!
I´m on the aero side. The only thing I like are those ENVE SES 4.5!
Note: the TdF V4RS has different: tires, cockpit, seatpost and disk rotors.
I had the fortunate position of choosing between the V4RS and the C68 and chose the latter (price was about 2K USD more)
The more I see this bike the more it seems "bland". Not sure why, perhaps because of the lack of graphics ala Aethos. Good to hear the C68 rides smoother, just what I was looking for (havent received the frame yet)
And kudos to David for riding it for a solid month. I dont believe reviewers who does 1-2 days on a bike. That's such a SHORT time to review anything.
Ok, that bike looks mean! One of the best no nonsense looking bikes ive ever seen!!!! Dont listen to these other guys, that bike is FIRE!!! And i would happily own it. Now if you can, please get your hands on the new blade and tell us what you think 🤔
Sticking with my 10 year old C50.
Could you please share the link for the computer mount? Thanks in advance 3:10
So why no mention of the Enve wheels in this review considering a good set of wheels can make or break any bike?
Some funny reactions, as per usual... If you want this bike and have the money for it, enjoy. I kind of max out at about 7-8 grand when virtually building my next bike so can't really justify going twice that much.
Is it stiffer than a alloy framed race bike which are about the same weight ?.
I ride Bianchi's and have 2 models. I own an original Pantani TdF 2002 team bike and another 928 Bianchi TdF team bike rode by Jan Ullrich. Would I buy another road bike from Bianchi now? No, way too expensive, even though I love them. Colnago is another dream bike I would love to own - way too expensive for me.
Yes
is v4rs only available for dura ace?
Hi David
I am considering to buy the Colnago c68 or the Enve Melee. I do not race and would like a great all round bike and think the Enves design and options for wide tires and mudguards are quite intriguing as I would like to ride in the winter (Denmark). But the colnago is just too epic and easier to order here in DK. What is your thoughts on this
Sounds likes the Enve is the better suited bike for your riding
is it better than a sworks sl8?
Seriously 5k? I know where these are made and that is ridiculous. You know you can get a custom Italian frame for this, from an artisan builder.
Quality cost, there is Ferrari and there is Ford
Can you lower the handlebar with standard round spacers on top without chopping the steerer?
Yes you can
V4RS or SLR01 - that's the question?
Tadej Pogaçar = Tally Pikachu, according to TH-cam's auto captions 😂
I can’t even feign being appalled at the price anymore… the new Scott whistleblower is $16k… it’s just numbing… 🥺
How come you never really mention the filante slr when comparing models as you do with tarmac etc? Do you not feel they are in same category?
It's more to do with the Tarmac being a commonly accepted benchmark really and lots more people are familiar with it
I wish I had his job :)
Why does it even need ceramic bearing in the headset while it doesnt constantly rotate 1 RPM?
They're not actually ceramic, they are stainless steel races and balls using a solid polymer that is "self-lubricating, corrosion-resistant, and maintenance-free" so they last ages and you don't have to service your headset hardly ever, a bonus with internal cable routing
@@Coco-ku3becan bet your left nut and end up keeping all your cojones. 💯
Beautiful bike lots of rupees though :)
in the C68 video you said you didn't like the multi-tool, but in this video you like the multi-tool lol
It's not possible to change your mind?
C68 vs Aethos?
I ride v4rs, totally diffrent bike from v3rs. So So great bike. honestly v3rs was sucks.
Very nice bike. I actually think is looks a lot better then the c68
7.16 kg not light??? It still has an uncut steerer and more spacers and its size is comparable to a typical 56. This bike is more than light enough.
Rose XLITE 06 for 6k€ is the same weight.
It’s not 6.8 though 😏
Meh. Super overpriced. I bet a lot of the perceived speed is from the wheelset, which are truly excellent.
Origine axxome GTR Evo 7kg566g =4890€ 😂
I don’t see how a bike wins the tdf…
Not made in Italy but £5k for the frame - Wait what??????
Pinarello Dogma F always...
Just saw Ackermanns bike. Sick shit man. So sexy.
Still made in China like 95% of all carbon frames (and wheels)
So what? China make some of highest quality product in the world like iPhone, etc. It all depends on what manufacturers want. If you want cheap, China will give you the cheapest and if you want quality, China will give you top quality product. 'Made in China' is an ego of the West and the rich.
Mate. ITS THE SAME THING. Why are you so neutral on it?
Are you new to this channel? Lol
15 bags of sand for a bike that’s 7.1kg, someone’s having a bubble!
Add some climbing wheels and you are under 6.8kg
More boutique designer brand over priced Italian Junk for fashion victims to get separated from their money
£15k ! all this does is entice criminals unless you live in a secluded affluent gated community with 24hr guards on site.
Hyperbole, much?
And who would those thieves sell a superbike like this to, I wonder...
I think that the bike does not look good and has a hefty price tag as compared to pina and sl7. I would not consider this bike
Not even a nice bike
Black bikes are soooo boring.
Clocks in with just 2747163736282 EUR - AMAZING!!!!
