I had which I found out much to late be a fake friend not understand how I could love my beloved cocker spaniel as much as i did, the she got a dog and finally understood how much of your heart and soul can love a dog unconditionally
My dog turned 14 this year, which is the max life expectancy for the kind I had. She peacefully passed away in May, in my lap where I first held her. You all who have lost yours, know what that kind of hurt does to you. Knowing they're presence is gone. To be honest, the hurt is okay, because if I could relive those 14 years with her again, I wouldnt hesitate.
Her name was Jasmine. My condolences to all who also lost theirs
My dog is 14 now and she’s 80lbs. I cherish everyday with her. I wish I could go back when she was a puppy. I adopted her so she was already 5 years old. Everyday is a blessing.

We lost 2 dogs to cancer, the first our eldest she died of breast cancer at 17 years of age and the youngest one died due to liver cancer , our little boy lucky died of multiple organ failure and renal complicationa
And our female cockatiel died of a heart attack after a sudden ocurrence with her cloaka
My parents never really got over that even as the years have passed
The fact this man wasn’t balling his eyes out is so brave and strong. I didn’t even know this dog before this video and I’m crying. Rest In Peace Cena. I know how it feels to loose a dog, I’ve been through it 3 times so far, and if I was that man, I would be so upset physically. 2 of my three dogs who died, were put to sleep because we found out they had cancer that would probably make their life miserable if we just kept them holding on, the other had heart issues and died in her sleep. The Laughing Man yeah but just like with humans it is curable and quite easily done in fact. Just most dogs die from it because it’s too expensive for the owner, the owner’s insurance also won’t cover it so it is all out of pocket. But if you want to as a owner you can always pay for treatment.

I had my dog for almost 16 years, I am 24. I had her dad before that. When she died it wasn’t only loosing her, but also him all over again

A week ago i lost my german shepherd. I had been with him for more than a decade we both grew up together and he left after he got paralysed .. i miss him, i cry whenever i go to bed. It feels like something is missing in my life …. 💔

Guilt implies intent to harm. Learn from any mistake and share with other dog families. Try writing a letter (real pen/paper) only you'll see to your dogs. Tear it up after and burn or throw into lake etc. Then focus on now and good memories of them.

I had a dog, zena, that i had for all my life since i was born up til i was 7, but she got cancer all up her leg and we couldnt afford to get surgery done so we had to put her down, the saddest part about it for me is that she shared the same birthday as me so the first birthday without her was devastating.
With all that, i completely know how he feels.

When you spend tons of time with a pet or companion you get attatched and love it, when this or any other dog or animal dies that a person is extremely attached to its almost like losing a family member, Espescially since this Marine had him in combat which would strengthen that bond even more. Maybe its "just a animal" to you. But don't be disrespectful and tell people how they should feel about the dog.

I had situation when i came from school( i was 17 y old)and my 9y old dog stopped moving on a walk and just fell down (no parents were home) i ran with him on my hands for 10min to vet..... Sadly he didnt make it.

As much as it hurt me to have to put them down, I knew in my heart that I couldn’t keep them around while they were suffering.

I remember when my service dog died. I almost died from heartbreak as she had been with me for 20yrs and saved my life multiple times.
Then my service dog's sister died from grief over loosing her big sis and my world evaporated into nothing. It's taken me almost 10 yrs to finally be able to grieve fully and feel like I could do justice to having another dog.
For many ppl dog's aren't just dog's, they are some ppl's everything and to loose them is just like loosing a human family member or friend.

I stalled and stalled to put down my old boy, he couldn't walk unaided at all, he didn't recognize us fully, Even the vet said he looked good when he came over. But it was all a lie, he was losing weight, had pressure sores from flailing on the ground in the night( we have him in a 6ftx10ft bed and he would shuffle off it and still damage himself), was losing all sense of reality. Its easy to fall into the trap of saying he doesn't look so bad today, he did better today, NOT acknowledging that he would never get better, he got worse.
Dogs only tell you when they are in enormous amts of pain, They did the right thing.

@Patrick Cossack in Hinduism (oldest religion) people are divided into a hierarchy called caste system namely priests, warriors, traders and slaves. It is hereditary. Slaves are lower caste and are being exploited and discriminated for more than 2500 years(there are proofs) and the exploiters(the other three) are proud of doing that. The atrocities they face are so cruel and humiliating that even stray dogs seem to have more rights than those people. When u ask the upper castes about that, they will completely deny it as if it doesn't exist!! If you study India's caste system u'll know that Adolf Hitler was a noob that his idea ended so soon while India has been doing this successfully literally for thousands of years. Things have changed in the cities thankfully due to the enactment of constitution but in towns and villages the situation is still the same.

My Logan passed away in April at home in my arms after a long battle with cancer. Hardest decision I had to make in my life. He was there for after my suicide attempt and I miss him immensely. He was my shadow. It's taken me 4 months to finally leave my bedroom to go out and get fresh air. I've put my head back in to my martial arts and started a daily jogging routine. Hopefully I will find my peace soon. To all pet owners, enjoy every moment with your pets. Stay safe.
Oh, I'm so sorry to read about your soul friend, Logan. It takes time to recognise when the moment has come to get life back on track, doesn't it? I lost my brother a year ago this month and there are still days when the pain is raw but they are fewer and I'm beginning to get some creativity back and motivation. So, what you say resonates with me. Take good care, and in time, you will be able to remember Logan with more smiles and fewer tears. Who knows, you might decide one day to strike up a new friendship with another four legged sibling.

It's been hard, but I take everything day by day now. Realised how short life is. I have some good news, I found his blood related family member who is due pups this December with collection in February. So I put the deposit down. It's a pure Czech wolfdog puppy. I was going to rescue shelter initially, but I just wanted part of Logan back. In say that, once I sell my place next year, I will getting a bigger place so will still rescue a dog too. I truly hope you find your peace after losing your brother. Stay safe.

She was w us for 14yrs but had tongue cancer - couldnt do anything anymore & was hungry. I hv put her down as I couldnt to see her hunger & thirsty anymore. Will nvr ever forget my beloved cat Mimi🐱🐈🐱😢😪
@@rsarmas1397 I lost Cleopatra after 18 years of shouting at her for causing damage with her claws. I was offered kittens by others but could not bear the thought of another cat taking her place. A co-worker said to me if you open your home to another it will not be a replacement of Cleopatra but rather a continuation of your love for her. I cried for three days, missed a mortgage payment deposit, and am now again in tears as I write this.
@@juliehunt795 As she grew up...she called me "mama" couldnt believe but tht's how she called me. Any write up on pets (no matter cats dogs birds hamster etc etc) will make me longing for my Mimi. Like u...I'm still crying. Dont think I can find another Mimi, my teenage cat "daughter"😪😔😪

My dog passed away two years ago and sometimes I still call out to him forgetting he’s already gone. He was the best couch potato and loved anyone who gave him a treat. Got him from a shelter at 1 year old, and lived a long and happy life of camping adventures. I’m sad that he’s gone but more happy he lived a life worth living a thousand life times.
Mine passed away 2 years ago as well I got him when I was 8 and I was 22 when he passed. Long story short he got hit by a truck. Every time I'd go to my mom's house I'd still see him inside his house. I had to remind myself he was gone. Feels like just yesterday I picked him up on my bike as a pup time flies 😢

Lost my dog recently after 17 years. She’s been with me through everything. It’s so painful to lose your friend after so long. How this guy wasn’t bawling his eyes out is beyond me. I wish I could’ve have remained that strong.

Lost my girl 4 months ago. You're absolutely right. A piece of you dies with them. Even though I have two of her son's with me she was everything to me and will always be so. She was my journal who knew my deepest most invasive thoughts and when I cried she always came and sat in my lap and comforted me. I was blessed with a companion and cursed with her loss but I seek solace in the fact that there is no more pain for her

@@adam11099 Because not everyone can afford treatment, or the pet has a condition that really can't be treated without the animal still being in pain to the point of not being mobile.
Humans can explain pain to other humans, but pets can't understand why they feel so miserable, eventually they get to the point where they lose the will to live and stop eating and no longer have a good quality of life. Putting them down is sometimes a "mercy" in a way, to prevent longer suffering for the animal where they just slowly waste away.
Understanding this doesn't make the choice any easier, but it gives families the opportunity to say goodbye while their pet is still fairly calm (since animals in pain can become aggressive over time).

You've honored your country for a long time and will always be remembered for it.
Watching this just made me break all over again, with grief and empathy because I know how much it hurts. I lost my dog of 10yrs called patch last July, the 2nd.its coming up to his 1st anniversary and its hard even now. Its broke my heart souch I was rushed to hospital with severe chest pains consistent with what they'd see on a heart attack patient. Heartbreak is real. We are with them at the start and with them in their last second. It's like losing a child.
Heartbreaking...theres something about dogs the amount of unconditional love you get from them no matter what.
