      he clearly understood the assignment. The throw-away comment at the end of the clip revealing that the man did not know Tanner moved him up by an order of magnitude in my esteem. He made an incredibly generous donation to a very worthy cause AND made a young man's wish come true. We really need more humans like this showcased as an example of people reinvesting their wealth in the community instead of hoarding it selfishly.

    • @DrakeOola
      @DrakeOola 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He was doing it for tax purposes. He saves more money on taxes than he donated. These are random numbers but imagine you make a 10 million dollars a year, the tax bracket you're in has to pay 40% or 4 million as taxes, Since he donated 60k his taxable income is only 9.4 million which drops him into the 30% tax bracket so he only has to pay 3 million in taxes which means he now pays 1 million dollars less than he would've had to otherwise. Because of his donation he now gets an extra 940 grand. He owns an oil company or something, while it's a nice thing to do, tons of large corporations and companies make similar donations for tax write off purposes, even the shittiest companies you can think of. It was nice of him to give the car away but I can almost guarantee he drives something way nicer and has several display cars just crowding his garage, the car is just a bonus from his tax write off. It's basically tax evasion and you should definitely get mad when large companies are cheaping out and evading taxes, could argue that this guy deserves it but he still basically took a million or so dollars that otherwise could have funded a school or a hospital or something which would be fine if he needed the money but he's rich so...🤷‍♂
      Also, I think he literally has to donate the car otherwise he's just buying something and not making a tax deductible donation. I'm not really sure how that works tho... Otherwise I feel like you could just buy stuff at auctions for a reasonable price and sell the item to get your money back
