    Back in the day I swapped a Europea- spec 1.6 with the "Heron" cylinder head into my US spec carbureted '84 Rabbit... I ran dual 36mm Dell'Orto sidedraft carbs. It only had a 4 speed, but could smoke a stock GTI. I ran a diesel radiator in it.

    Looks good. It is awesome that there are still new products dropping for these old cars. I'd definitely recommend that he change out those side nipples for NPT threaded bungs. That way one can be plugged but also you don't risk snapping one of those off taking it in and out.

    i got a similar setup but with a dual fen, big upgrade compared to the stock rad. great to see a vid

    There is an even more budget friendly alternative that is widely used here in germany for 16v Weber conversions:
    The radiator from an Opel Corsa B Diesel. These things sell for around 50€.

      good to know, however that seems to be a single core radiator. these are dual.
