Thank You so much for giving us this Yoga for Fibro. 😍😍😍 I was resistant to doing yoga before because the movements are so tough and many practitioners are so smug about their bodily achievements... It made me feel pathetic with all my limitations. Your yoga practices are achievable and your tone is encouraging and motivational. ❤ Most people don't understand the huge basic achievement for us to even show up on the yoga mat, nevermind attempting some of the exercises. I don't have fibromyalgia, but - 69 years and some arthritis, two knee operations - resulting in limitations set by my stiffness - and after doing this yoga video - all I think is - WOW! Love it.
I have been using these Fibromyalgia sessions nightly for a number of months now, and man they help. I can tell my chronic, severe insomnia is worse when I don't take the time to do them right before I go to bed. My muscles detest yin yoga, but the rest of your fibro sessions really help stretch and relax them. Thank you so much for creating and posting these! They help make life bearable.
Thank you, I’m also interested in the insomnia one, I hate nights as they are so long when you cant sleep. I find it hard to sleep 💤 through the pain. 🙏
Thank you so so much for this! I’ve been suffering with fibromyalgia for more than 30 years and just decided to start yoga. I’ve been hesitant for so long but I am so so happy I finally did! I started yesterday you 10 min. Workout and felt so much better afterwards! I felt like I oxygenated my brain and body. I went and did half of the 25 min one. Couldn’t wait to get to it tonight and did both. I am so so grateful and pleased and proud of myself. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I love your stretching for all body parts. I have FM, chronic pain, bursitis and arthritis too. Your videos are helping with relief and contouring for a healthier me, thank you. I would love if you could do with an increase in time, 30-45 minutes please. Namaste!!!!!
This is so wonderful to hear, well done Jenny! My TH-cam practices tend to be short, but I'll be working on a separate platform soon to bring out some longer videos 😉
I really enjoyed this and found it helpful. I find your practices so relatable Joelle and enjoyable and relaxing. Hi Joelle! I was looking someone who understood me with the Fibromyalgia, and I found you🙏🏼 I stopped doing my morning walks because of the pain and swollen of all my joints, because I also have Reumatoide Arthritis, and I gained a lot of weight. Yesterday I started trying to do some exercise again, and your videos helped me to feel better, because they are made by a person who knows and suffers from this condition that is not pleasant at all. Thank you very much for your healing videos🧘🏻♀️Much love and hugs🥰🙋🏻♀️🇲🇽🇺🇸
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for sharing your story, and well done for finding what you need to take care of yourself. I hope to practice with you again soon ✨
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one Sandy 😊 You might like to check out my program for fibromyalgia for more practices like it: tinyurl.com/yx7x2usu Or if you search "yoga with Joelle fibromyalgia" on TH-cam I've got several others there too. I hope that helps ✨
Thank you so much for this couldn't believe how much I needed this today. It's hard to come across full sessions that don't agrevate certain joints or muscles
I just found your videos. I am currently in so much pain from fibromyalgia that it feels as though most of my muscles are in a constant spasm. I was a gymnast for many years, so to have so much pain and lack of flexibility is heart breaking. This video was a bit difficult but I loved the stretch. I have trouble with bending my right knee due to total knee replacement but managed these
I'm so sorry to hear you're going through a rough patch Twila, well done to you, and it's never a bad thing to adapt the stretches to suit your body and what it needs that day. Let me know if you ever need suggestions of modifications, but above all please be proud of yourself for taking good care. I do have a playlist of videos for chronic pain, you may like to have a look to see if any of the others are of interest: tinyurl.com/yea9me8n
Your videos have really helped me. I would like to push myself further, but I don't know what the reasonable limits are for me at 51 with incredible stiffness. It's mostly the stiffness that causes pain. I like the gentle ("Yin") yoga and stretches in general, and some joint exercises here and there (arthritis exercises work well for me when I remember to do them). I feel like I'm missing out on the benefits I'd get from aerobic exercise, though. I can't do any of the recommended things (walking, biking, swimming) because of the FMS either being too bad, or the arthritis I also have. Is there anything else? I was thinking about a kettlebell routine that gets me huffing, but I don't know if that's too much.
It's wonderful that you've found yin yoga to help you with some gentle stretches, and equally wonderful that you're looking to mix things up! Indeed, I do feel that adding in some strengthening work and more dynamic activity can be especially helpful. While I'm not sure which exercises could work best in your specific instance, starting small can be a nice option. For example, a 5-minute conscious walk can go a long way. Or you could try a 5-minute practice like this one where we take 10 dynamic exercises for 30 seconds each: th-cam.com/video/2gTaVPk_EHg/w-d-xo.html Even if you don't do all 10 the first time, that can be a great objective to build towards! I hope that helps
Hi Wendy, they're great for any time of day, so ultimately that's up to you and what suits your schedule! Practicing in the morning is certainly a wonderful option to start the day out right :-)
Hi Joelle.. hello from India. Fibromyalgia has become a part of mine for an year now. I am following your videos since a few months. Your videos are my hope now to feel easy with my body. I have a big belly after 2 c sections. I cudn do much to reduce it as any hard movement causes muscle cramps in abdomen. Can you please help in toning the abdomen pls.
Good to have you with us! I've got several videos for abs, so you can do a search on my channel for relevant practices. You might like to start with this one, as it's a bit gentler: th-cam.com/video/gCbGV_fGa4c/w-d-xo.html
Hi Joelle, I also have fibromyalgia and could have been living with it for about 20 years or more? I found out I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2007. I struggle quite a lot with it every day and have really bad anxiety and depression. I have got pains all over my body. My body is so very tight and limited to how far I can stretch my body especially my back, knee and legs. It takes me months to learn the poses especially difficult 1’s and while trying to strengthen my arms and legs so they don’t shake or give way and trying to learn how to balance on 1 leg like the tree pose and in your knee strengthening video I have been doing lately. I worry so much about things that I lose quite a lot of sleep and makes me feel quite nausea, it is winter in Australia. Even my memory is quite bad at times (fibro fog) and I also live with intellectual disorder as well
Thank you for sharing your story, I'm happy to hear you're honoring yourself and finding what your body and mind need to help you feel your best. Be patient with yourself and also be proud for what you're doing!! Well done! Happy to have you with us ✨
@@YogawithJoelle You’re welcome Joelle. Thanks. The other night I watched and did 3 of your videos in a row. Maybe every fortnight on Friday I could go to yoga classes with other people who could be so much better than me? I mostly work on poses I can do the most. I prefer to go at my own pace. I have wanted to learn how to do yoga years ago and my support worker is the one who got me doing yoga nearly 10 months ago when I was still learning and hopefully soon when she feels better and see her again could do more yoga with her and make sure I am doing it right ✨
@@YogawithJoelle I also have been learning how to do lion’s breath with my left wrist facing the other way. Still have to do the right wrist and have a weak sore right wrist
I'm sorry to hear you're suffering. You can absolutely try this at night to see if it helps, go at your own pace and you're always welcome to modify or leave out anything that doesn't feel good to you. ✨
Joelle, any suggestions for modifications due to very sore ankles. I love turtle pose but with this fibro flare, it is a bit hard on my ankles. Thank you!
Good question Tina! If you want to practice turtle pose specifically, it can help to have a thin pillow under the ankles to see how that feels. Some people actually like to fold a blanket over the length of their mat for slower practices like this one, too, so that could be another thing to try for the whole practice - I hope that helps!
I have extremely limited hip lateral mobility, so the mere move of bringing the feet soles together is impossible for me, unless I wanna pop my legs out of my hips. Even sitting in the first pose is beyond painful for my hips and back. All I can do in terms of yoga is to do bed-bound exercises...
You can absolutely do this practice in bed, and propping up pillows under the knees to help support them when the soles of the feet are together is a lovely option! You might also enjoy trying yin yoga, which is a much slower deep stretch style. Here's an example of a yin yoga practice for fibromyalgia, which you're also welcome to do in bed: th-cam.com/video/fq0RzlsH4Dw/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps!
