This is possibly one of the best DIY mechanic videos on TH-cam. No stupid music, no extraneous drawn out commentary or filler bits of footage. Perfect for people who need to get the job done with clear instruction. Only thing that would improve is when the clips holding the boots on were crimped - would’ve been nice to have seen true tool - also at the beginning maybe layout on the ground the tools/ parts needed to complete the job (nothing worse that taking your car to bits and having to rely on your missis to drive you to the parts shop 🤭). 👍
I guess Im randomly asking but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
@Jack Bodhi thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Not the circlip but corrosion between the splines holding it in place meaning the two surfaces will be very difficult to separate. Should have been assembled with anti-corrosion paste, a light smear of copper slip or marine water repellent multi purpose grease.
Can someone get my man an impact?? Like everyone has said, good there's no talking but I reckon putting tool sizes on the screen as you use them. Or showing the tool to the cam would polish these right off
I couldn't remember whether or not it had one on when i took the old one off lol but I did change the wheel bearing also so maybe broke a wire would you know if you have to have the light reset with a machine
Hi can anyone help. I was today changing the lower ball joint and forgot to tie up the assembly. I pulled the drive shaft out of the cup on osf. I pushed it back in but having trouble aligning the new ball joint with the lower arm. About 2 cms away from the hole. Any ideas anyone. ???
Should have shown us the step where you removed the drop link upper bolt, allowing you to slide the strut into the hub easily. Extremely important step. Thanks otherwise for a good vid!
@@keithwright7259 he removed it which you can see at 12:50. You shouldn't contradict what i wrote with false information as it could mislead the unaware.

You didn't use any Plusgas or WD40 when undoing the nuts and bolts which would have helped them turn more easily. You didn't use a torque wrench for the hub nut which needs to be done up bloody tight to 280Nm. Again the old CV joint came off the splined drive shaft bloody easily. You are so jammy.

Thank you, I did it on my Citroen C8 yesterday.
I did same on C5
How long did it take?
Brilliant fix ! Do you remember how much the new outer CV joint cost ? Thanks
I bought from ebay for £15.00
how easy. 6:35 On a megane2 I clobered that cv joint for over an hour with the big hamer until that circlip finaly let the cv joint out.
Same here, an hour just passed and I still haven't got it loosen
