Yeh it was, pressure alone wouldn't have got that off so the pre wash was needed to lift the dirt first. I don't think you understand how pre wash works.

@@beyondthestars4299not much of a difference but foaming first is slightly more effective to break down the dirt and saves you some water

Water will take off a little dirt but will then sit on the surface and lower the dilution rate of the snow foam so it won't get at the bodywork and crude sitting on it. Instead it'll be sitting on top of the water on the surface. No good for getting the crude off the car.
Lets be honest if your consistently doing high end details i absolutely love ripping into an older work van just love it!!!
for the people wondering why he doesn't just move straight to the touch wash, if you have a decently dirty car, all that dirt and grim you are wiping across the clear coat will scratch it, and could leave a pretty nasty mark.

If I had this then this wouldn’t be a pre wash. This would be the whole wash. I’d just do this once a week and call it a day.
Ceramic coated and that pre wash is all what you need for dailies
If pre-washing only, better to dry with a leaf blower. just my 2 cents.

I always think I’m using too much foam. Apparently I’m not using enough if I can still see the car underneath 😂
Well all soaps are different they won’t all lather the same but it helps to have it thick so the soap sits on your car to allow the soap to do it’s job instead of running straight off

lets be clear... diluted super clean would have done the same job if not better... than that high priced koch chemie... KC makes some great stuff... but for a apc rinse.. diluted super clean is always solid....

Koch Chemie Vorreiniger B (Europe). In North America is rebranded as Koch Chemie MSN. One of the best pre washes out there that actually works.
It's difficult with these kinds of pressure washers how effective that soap really is. Is it really actually working? Or if he had just hit it with same pressure wash without would it have done the same? 99% confident that this is all down to the pressure washer and not the soap.
As someone who details I can confirm that prewashes help tremendously. I have a high power pressure washer and yes a car can be cleaned without the fancy snow foam and pre wash. But the amount of dirt that pre wash lifts up is undeniable. Bird poo/grime is so much easier to clean. You’ll find you can gently rub the paint rather than scrub it.
That being said I still think all purpose cleaner type pre washes are better/stronger than most snow foams i’ve come across. Snow foam is only good for well protected cars in my opinion
Pre washing is just to get rid of the surface dirt so that you can have a more clean and safer surface to do the agitation step of washing it just helps prevent scratching, and yes I get what your saying that the soap isn’t as effective as the pressure washer, but I’m pretty sure they are both important here

Snow foaming comes before rinse? I've seen detailers who first do a pre-rinse, then snow foam, then rinse again.. and only then proceed to contact wash. I don't know what's the best method (?)
Foaming (or any spray based soap)first is better to trap the dirt and grime, making it easier to rinse off and decreases chance of scratching.

@@felipin.el.detailer Not necessarily snow foam but a pre-wash spray usually with a hand pump sprayer first. Rinse that, snow foam, rinse, hand wash. The hand pump pre-wash helps a lot more with the grimey build up that tends to sit below door window level. That's usually sprayed on the lower half of the vehicle.

@@felipin.el.detailer I don't have any personal recommendations honestly. Lots of brands make effective products. Best thing to do is search YT for pre wash videos or product reviews on pre washing.

Water blast it off first and then apply pre-wash???
That's what I always thought. Apparently it's not correct. If you pressure wash first, you're basically firing dirt and grit into the paintwork and sandblasting the car with it. Starting with snowfoam, breaks down the dirt and provides a layer of lubrication so the dirt doesn't scrape across the paint. Only found this out myself recently.
