I’ve had my 899 Panigale from new in 2014 and it’s been the best sports bike I’ve owned in about 40 plus years of biking, agreed it’s not the best tool for bimbling through 30 mph limits, but once you’ve got a little bit of wind blast supporting you I find it pretty comfortable, have even toured Germany on it, I’m 5’11” and 13 stone so average build I think?
Biggest factor with bikes like this is the type of roads you use them on, I live in North Yorkshire ( God’s country 😬) so I’m lucky to have some stunning routes on my doorstep!
I’ve got some tasty mods on it, BST carbon wheels ( fantastic 😍! ) K-Tech dds pro shock, exhaust is de-flappered and it’s downgeared a bit for better acceleration,…now, it’s an awesome ride, must be because I’ve done over 32,000 miles on it and still love riding it 😬👍

Glad you’re enjoying your Duc mate. Kudos to you for touring on that thing as well. Just prove it can be done if you like to punish yourself 🤣

Misconception: being shorter doesn’t help. Shorter hands means you lean forward more and your back and wrists hurt more. The only advantage is that your knee is less acute.

Both decent bikes but different characteristics, maybe the street fighter v2 will be on the purchase list for 2024 for you then?

I'm impressed that you rode it for more than 10 minutes (🤷 that's just an assumption on my part). It was clear you weren't comfortable on it so well done.
It's a wealthy (little) guy's/girl's track day bike with a few bonus road, weekend rides, really... as you said. And the screen is an odd, acute parabola; it should be wider, but other than that it's a Ducati sports bike, as you'd expect... & without a fuel gauge. 😄

Thanks Bob, are you saying that 6'1" and 115kg is too big for this bike? :). I'll let those youngsters ride it whilst I stick to my big adventure bikes :P

Great video - but I like the WHITE/RED-Combi very much - that's unique for the V2!

Picking up my v2 next week in Melbourne. It’s a weekend bike only. Don’t mind the heat in winter. (Much better than the UK) Not looking forward to summer.

lovely looking machine no doubt about it.dont think ducati had you in mind when they built it though!😂exactly why i got rid of the zx10r,they're only comfortable at speed.the roads are too busy these days to use this type of bike, which means track days if you want to have some fun.100% agree that nakeds are the new norm for uk roads these days!nice review mate, keep up the good work!

Thanks Mart, there lies the problem with these bikes, need to be going at speed and moving around the bike in corners to have fun and make it usable. I used to sit in the middle of my MT10 and be able to lean it over enough to get the knee down, that's my kind of bike nowadays :)

and thats why i have possibly the best bike for our roads!😂

I’d go mt10 over the SDR. Each to their own though. 😁

I'm a short arse 5'3 and just over 9st 4lbs, previously had R1s, GSXR1000 and CBR1000RR seriously considering a V2 but heat aspect and comfort does concern me, whats views regarding comfort for a shorter guy? and I'm in the UK.

Had a white 959. Loved it but it was wristy and hot at urban speed. It was a hoot on the track however.
I miss the looks but not the riding comfort or lack thereof.

White Ducati's just look so wrong. And they charge more to wash out the contours and styling....Lol.
