@Raiyan I bought my G502 SE (wired model) almost 2 years ago and haven't had any issues so far! I don't play competitive shooters but I use it every day. My only problem has been the software. I didn't want G HUB always running in the background so I use Logitech Onboard Memory Manager, and I ran into a bug where media controls don't work. This problem doesn't occur when using G HUB. There's also a new G502 X series (Frank did a video on the X Plus wireless model). They have new hybrid optical-mechanical switches that shouldn't break down like the old switches. However, they're not that different otherwise, and the new G502 X (wired model) costs about double what I paid for my G502 SE on sale! Also check out the Glorious Model I and Roccat Kone XP series as they are similar competitors. There's plenty to choose from now, but if you find the old G502 for a good price, I'd say go for it!

Lightweight mice are a preference, and are just the trend right now. I really don't think it makes that much of a difference in terms of how you perform in game. I've tried tons of lower weight mice, in fact I have a Haste (59g) and GPX Superlight (62g) right now and I still perform the best with my G903 (110g). As you said, muscle memory and ergonomics can make up for the extra weight.

I just did this recently with the G502 Lightspeed. I’ve used a bunch of mice but I always come back to this one. I put Corepads feet on it and it’s just great for me. When Xtrfy makes an M42 wireless, maybe I’ll switch.
so here's my take - something that i feel we should consider. the thing about heavier mice is that if you happen to play on a lower sense, it's going to take a lot more force to lug that mouse around right? mr. frank here is on pretty high sens which you can see by the gameplay and the b-roll and whatnot.. so does using a heavier mouse maybe give him more control at a higher sensitivity than say a lighter, 60 or 50g mouse would? just something i've thought about lmk what you guys think
My sister knew I was getting a new PC and bought me the G502 wired mouse for $40. I absolutely love it and I was looking to spend $150 on a mouse, but after using the G502, I’m sticking with it.
I have a Pro Superlight as well as the G502. I love the lighter mouse, however I love the extra buttons on the G502!!?! I wish there was a lighter version, but still with the same buttons.
I recently bought this mouse about a week ago since it was like 30 dollars at the time of writing. I’ve had a steel series mouse for a while that was really light so going to this was weird but in a good way. It didn’t feel like I was whipping shots because I of how light my mouse was, it was easy to make little adjustments while still being able to move my mouse around. I also packed mine all the way with all the weights, feels super satisfying when I’m using it. As for the buttons, I could probably live without but that’s because I haven’t figured out how to really use them effectively. Though there are some games where they require the r4-5 mouse buttons so that came in handy. The scroll wheel is probably my favorite part of the entire thing. Now I don’t use frictionless mode for gaming as I just switch weapons constantly because of how sensitive it is but for scrolling through discord, Reddit, google docs, etc. it is amazing. The regular mode also feels really good, love how it feels when you scroll with a sort of thunk feel to it. I also really dig the sensitivity button where I can easily change my dpi. It felt good not having to go through setting for games with just the press of a button. I also have medium size hands so they fit perfectly on the mice with a little claw grip. Overall, a 10/10 experience so far
I have had this mouse since basically it came out and I love almost everything about it. It would be a 10/10 mouse for me if it weren't for the ghub software not being that user friendly and most importantly I've had 4 replacements because the switches keep double clicking.
@@jared_per oh wow, 4? and all had the same issue? i just wonder why not a lot of ppl here are reporting this issue?what are the chances to get 4 bad mouses in a row?

Man, G502 is the best gaming product out there, I swear. I recently sold all my other mice and bought 2x wired G502's - one for my gaming rig and one for my work at home setup. I love this mouse to death and the best part about it is actually its weight - I use all 5x weights on each mouse, I really hate the light mouse trend nowadays. A mouse that's less than 80 grams just feels like a cheap plastic toy for me, G502 all the way baby!
I actually like heavier mice because I have shaky hands and the weight kind of stabilizes my hand. I have the G602 and G604 and I love them both. And speaking of muscle memory, I've gotten so used to my setup of the macro buttons that I'd often have trouble using other mice.
I have tested lot of mice for gaming, but this G502 mouse is the best of the best gaming mice that I ever have. Love Hyperscroll wheel, sniper button and how long it will can be charged.. in my case with 40% set RGB lightning I can last up to 21 days to fully discharge. Only I want to see a USB-C connector, this G502 is TOP end mice.
dont forget that the logitech mouse series always has an issue with double clicking and left mouse button not working. I had the g502 hero and suddenly, the light button stop working completely.

But I still love this mouse for its ergonomics and weight. I personally don't think it's too heavy at all. Probably because I've never used a lightweight mouse be before. ps, I've had all the weights in mine before for like a month so I guess I'm psycho. 😂

I use 3x G502s (light speed) for my set up running three PCs simultaneously. Have 4 others (including mx and others) but this feels the best and most smooth! Love it.
G502 has been my favorite mouse in all iterations of it. I have them all. I love my lightspeed one now with the lightspeed pad. It just needs to be lighter. I won't use any other mouse, but I await the day they make it lighter.
@@jimskeuh I’ve had the lightspeed version as my main mouse since May 2019 when it was released and the Lightspeed pad since October 2019. They both still work perfectly.
Just get a G604 if you want a cheap G502 Lightspeed, it's so similar and I got mine on sale for $45. Also doubles as a great work/productivity mouse with all the MMO macro buttons.
Its kind of true of what he said, was a g502 user and i switched to the lightspeed. That wireless functionality brought a whole new level of gaming and daily use. After which i tried other mice out there but wasn't able to get that kind of satisfaction as g502. So i would say to frank your alone~
I always used to go for those mice with extra weights. It isn't until the lightweight trend started though that I realised why and it was because the weights would let me tune the balance of the mouse. To bring the weight more center or offset any gross imbalances. We laugh now but it did serve a purpose beyond marketing nonsense.
I played MMOs for years on mice like the G600, Razer Naga, ect. But started playing more FPS a few years ago and tried out a bunch of lightweight mice like the Viper, Mira M, MM711, XM1, Viper Mini, G305, Deathadder Mini, trying to find that perfect mouse. But no matter how many months I would put into using a mouse, I never really felt I was living up to my potential. In comes the Razer Naga Pro late last year, I immediately got that because it's what I always wanted in an MMO mouse. Even though I was use to light weight mice by this time and the Naga Pro comes in at 117g. But as soon as I started using it, I could feel myself actually playing better. I started getting way more wins, shots were way more accurate and I even got quite a few #1 highscores on 3daimtrainer. Goes against what everyone else says, because it's a wide heavy mouse that even has a ring finger rest. But I play by far the best with it, the extra weight + width gives me by far the most control of any other mouse I've tried.
The lightspeed with the powerpad has been my setup for years and to this day I will swear by it as the ultimate casual setup. A superb mouse that is always being powered by the pad and has amazing battery life and charge time should the pad malfunction for some weird reason or you have to take it on the go.
You'll love it, especially the scroll wheel. People take gaming equipment too seriously like they're pro streamers. You don't need a mouse lighter than air or a monitor with crt level response times, because you're a normal gamer who plays for fun. The feel and ergonomics of the g502 is way better than my brothers glorious model whatever, and the scroll wheel is a necessity for me at this point. My brother's mouse might be half the weight of mine but I still destroy him in csgo.
I have gone from the G502 to the Deathadder, Basilisk, G Pro (wired), Model O, and G Pro Wireless. I still love my 5 year old Proteus Spectrum G502 the most, even if it has a rusting scroll wheel and dying cable.
Bought it as my first official gaming mouse and jeez this feels so right. It feels comfortable and gets rid of wrist pain, I love the weights since personally I'm new to mouse and keyboard, the heft of the mouse doesn't leave the mat. Your failure brought you back to a gem
@@jimskeuh personally no, not as of yet. No issues as of yet as well. So far just removed all the optional weight as my keyboard and mouse skills have now surpassed my controller skills so don't be afraid to change the weight
I still have the G502 Hero. My 502 Proteus middle click broke after six months. I contacted Logitech and they replaced it with a hero for free. I just replaced it with a Shroud and it’s awesome as well.

I don't like light mouse because I need to feel the weight of sniper rifle man 🤣🤣
I just did this recently with the G502 Lightspeed. I’ve used a bunch of mice but I always come back to this one. I put Corepads feet on it and it’s just great for me. When Xtrfy makes an M42 wireless, maybe I’ll switch.
I had a G700s for 5 years Loved it. Switched to G604 for 4 months now I can't go back lol
My viper mini broke so I went back to my old dusty g402, and man people thought I am hacking on cs go, the lightweight trend is garbage.
so here's my take - something that i feel we should consider. the thing about heavier mice is that if you happen to play on a lower sense, it's going to take a lot more force to lug that mouse around right? mr. frank here is on pretty high sens which you can see by the gameplay and the b-roll and whatnot.. so does using a heavier mouse maybe give him more control at a higher sensitivity than say a lighter, 60 or 50g mouse would? just something i've thought about lmk what you guys think
my old g502 wore out, got out and bought another g502 and keep gamin' !
same lmao
Just curious as to how you could tell your 502 was wearing out? I've had mine for quite some time and I think its starting to go but I'm not sure.
@@lincolnpoole5862 my left click wouldn't hold anymore so I got a new one
@@lincolnpoole5862 my middle click is not working and the thumb rest has wore in and gone lol (the rubber part)
My sister knew I was getting a new PC and bought me the G502 wired mouse for $40. I absolutely love it and I was looking to spend $150 on a mouse, but after using the G502, I’m sticking with it.
Ahh my first mouse all I can think of is the double click
I have a Pro Superlight as well as the G502.
I love the lighter mouse, however I love the extra buttons on the G502!!?!
I wish there was a lighter version, but still with the same buttons.
I see no problem with such a decision
4:18 he just casually used footage of him getting garand thumbed like it was nothing lmao
You can be amazing with any mouse if you put enough time in.

@@endgamez7621 yeah it is good to know
I recently bought this mouse about a week ago since it was like 30 dollars at the time of writing.
It would be a 10/10 mouse for me if it weren't for the ghub software not being that user friendly and most importantly I've had 4 replacements because the switches keep double clicking.
u got the infamous double clicking issue yet?
@@jimskeuh oh yes. Even by the time of this comment I had 4 replacements for that issue.
@@jared_per oh wow, 4? and all had the same issue? i just wonder why not a lot of ppl here are reporting this issue?what are the chances to get 4 bad mouses in a row?
@@jimskeuh exactly. I'm on my 6th now. This one I got a warranty directly from Logitech and it's been the best one yet by far. It feels really weird to be *that customer that is always returning but they become unusable.
@@jared_per maybe they were just sending you the ones that were already returned by other customers...
"You can add more weight to it, like a psycho." Me who added all the extra weight xDDDDDDD
Same here! Lol
I have the G502 Lightspeed, and I love it. Im using corepads, i removed the plate for the weights, for a better glide and slightly lighter mouse.
1:00 ew light mode
Other than that, great video lol
Look at those Amazon reviews tho, follow up video addressing some of that maybe? After reading through just a few Amazon, I'm good on that lol
I actually like heavier mice because I have shaky hands and the weight kind of stabilizes my hand.
I have the G602 and G604 and I love them both. And speaking of muscle memory, I've gotten so used to my setup of the macro buttons that I'd often have trouble using other mice.
Wasn't expecting that intro, but honestly was a great laugh and thoroughly enjoyed the change of pace between popular reviewers.
The TH-cam is in light mode.

Still rocking a Proteus Spectrum G502 because you recommended it! Absolutely loving it, just the right fit and feel for me.
Does it have double click?
@@KAI1IROS Nope!
I always have time to thumbs up and comment when a video does an Airplane! deepcut
Always makes my day when randomfrankp uploads
dont forget that the logitech mouse series always has an issue with double clicking and left mouse button not working. I had the g502 hero and suddenly, the light button stop working completely.
Haha have I ever gotten back with an ex? Bold to assume I've ever been in a relationship!!

I absolutely love my G502. I recently had to use the warranty to get a replacement after my left click started randomly double-clicking and sometimes letting go of a click. But I still love this mouse for its ergonomics and weight. I personally don't think it's too heavy at all. Probably because I've never used a lightweight mouse be before. ps, I've had all the weights in mine before for like a month so I guess I'm psycho. 😂
Can you take another look at the Steelseries Rival 600? I remember when that was crowned the best mouse in 2019
I'm a bodybuilder and I absolutely love heavy mouse. Had the wired version for quite sometime but I switched to wireless G502 and bought a powerplay mat for consistent charging.😁
Personally i miss the days when mice had a bunch of features that might be useful over who can make the ugliest lightest mouse
They’re still out
Ive watched randomfrankp for a pretty long time now and this is the first one I’ve ever heard him swear in
Getting kicked because you’re wrecking on a clans server is definitely a “only in battlefield” moment. Git gud scrubs.
I use 3x G502s (light speed) for my set up running three PCs simultaneously. Have 4 others (including mx and others) but this feels the best and most smooth! Love it.
G502 will always be my main. Perfect for shortcuts in DAWs as well.
did u experience any double clicking of the buttons yet? its a famous issue on this model

G502 has been my favorite mouse in all iterations of it. I have them all. I love my lightspeed one now with the lightspeed pad. It just needs to be lighter. I won't use any other mouse, but I await the day they make it lighter.
u experience the double clicking yet?
@@jimskeuh I’ve had the lightspeed version as my main mouse since May 2019 when it was released and the Lightspeed pad since October 2019. They both still work perfectly.

I’ve been rocking the g502 for a year now. It’s really, really good
Just get a G604 if you want a cheap G502 Lightspeed, it's so similar and I got mine on sale for $45. Also doubles as a great work/productivity mouse with all the MMO macro buttons.
I bought the g502 hero like 4 months ago and im in love!!
Its kind of true of what he said, was a g502 user and i switched to the lightspeed. That wireless functionality brought a whole new level of gaming and daily use. After which i tried other mice out there but wasn't able to get that kind of satisfaction as g502. So i would say to frank your alone~
Been using the G502 for almost 2 years. No regrets. Best purchase ever and the quality of it is just superb!
I LOVED the G502. Owned 3 of them. Switched to Razer Basalisk Ultimate last year which is really close to 502. It's great.
It was your original G502 review that convinced me to get mine, still use it to this day.
I'm still rocking my OG G502 I bought like back in 2014...
Never had a problem with it, it's still such a great mouse. I fucking love it.
I always used to go for those mice with extra weights. It isn't until the lightweight trend started though that I realised why and it was because the weights would let me tune the balance of the mouse. To bring the weight more center or offset any gross imbalances. We laugh now but it did serve a purpose beyond marketing nonsense.
I can never ditch this mouse. I’ve been using the wired or wireless version since it’s inception. It just works.
A superb mouse that is always being powered by the pad and has amazing battery life and charge time should the pad malfunction for some weird reason or you have to take it on the go.
i ordered g502 yesterday and finding reviews so i don't regret buying and this came out
It's a great mouse ! I still use mine and I love it :)
If you were using a light mouse before, this mouse will feel like a work out for the first week.
Are you going to do a follow up on the glorious ice pad since the video you make was a first impressions? I'd really like to know how it held up
This was actually the first gaming mouse I ever bought and I loved it .
I have about 3 of these mice. Older versions with older sensors and the newer ones. G502 had been my fav since like 2016.
I also came back to G502 a few days, what a coincidence...
Just bought a G502 Hero after watching this, it's coming tomorrow. I'm so hyped about it.
Damn Frank! YOU pwnt those noob in BF....+++KUDOS for that gameplay!!
Oh man just got out my old G502 from the drawer of death. Man I miss that scroll wheel D:
Back in 2015 you sold me on the mouse RandomFrankP. I cannot leave it! Love the g502 too much to switch
The airplane clip LITERALLY made me spit out my breakfast laughing lmaooooo
I have gone from the G502 to the Deathadder, Basilisk, G Pro (wired), Model O, and G Pro Wireless. I still love my 5 year old Proteus Spectrum G502 the most, even if it has a rusting scroll wheel and dying cable.
Bought it as my first official gaming mouse and jeez this feels so right. It feels comfortable and gets rid of wrist pain, I love the weights since personally I'm new to mouse and keyboard, the heft of the mouse doesn't leave the mat. Your failure brought you back to a gem
did u experience any double clicking of the buttons yet? its a famous issue on this model
