First off, Thank you. This is how I found the problem. It was basically an intermittent fault and the only way I found it was to drive the car with my diagnostic tester plugged in. When the sensor faulted, I was able to see the readout. It was elusive but I found it. The Canadian pricing on Amazon was $45 for OEM Hyundai component, and installation was about half an hour. I checked with the local Hyundai dealer and was quoted $282 for the same exact part number. Oh, and true to form, the mounting clip for the power plug fell apart too. Zip ties are a wonderful thing. Thanks again.
Just solved the issue I was having with the car 2008 Accent. I was stuck in the parking lot after my shift and was able to disconnect spray the electrical cleaner I had in my trunk and re-plugged it back in and was able to make it back home. Thank you just wanna let other people in trouble know to disconnect and reconnect if you don’t happen to have the part on you for that very moment.
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been having the exact same issues as you (and others, as I can see) and just ordered the part from Amazon. The dealer said the part would be $252, and an hour of labor because “there are a couple of panels which have to be removed to access the sensor.”…
Update: I ordered the sensor, installed it, and... the car would not start. It turned over fine, and the battery has plenty of juice. I removed the new one and re-installed the old one, and the car started. I'm puzzled. Update 2: there are two sensors you can get... there are the ones you don't have to program, and then there are the ones you HAVE to program. Guess which one I got.
Thank you bud. My daughter's car coded for this sensor, intermittently but it ultimately caused a no start. I had no idea where it was as I work mainly on vw, honda, nissan, gm. Never honestly had a hyundai come into my shop
Mine would briefly shut off but stay running ran like crap when gas was hit tac stop working all after 5 min of driving and couldn't restart till cooled showed no codes changed cps now runs correct car has only 67,000 miles
Big question: I replaced the crankshaft position sensor, but now I have a P0016 code saying that the signals with the camshaft did not correspond. My question is, do you also need to change the camshaft when you change the crankshaft?
My 2011 hyundai keeps on shutting down while driving. I thought it was my ignittion switch and ignition cylinder so i changed those. But my cars rom gauge will stop working and as long as i give it a little gas most of the time itll stay running till i make it home. But it also can stall on me like it did today! Is that a crank sensor issue? Also my lights wont turn on now.
@HomeownerRepair I did that this morning. I got a diagnostic on it and it the code said it was my crankshaft sensor. I ordered the part this morning because my local auto parts store didn't have it. Wish I did this before spending 200 on the wrong parts. But hey they won't go out anytime soon that I'm sure of lol. Thx man.
If it is bad the car might not fire. It the car does not even try to crank check the battery. If there is a check engine light on, you may want to pull the code to see what is triggering the light.
@@HomeownerRepair it's at 1:18 like upper left of where you located the crankshaft sensor. Maybe it's not a plug, but another kind of sensor, but it's right next to the crankshaft sensor. I have a 2009 hyundai accent, and ive been trying to locate the oil pressure sensor, and im wondering if thats where it is.

Thanks for this video. The garage wanted 100 for parts, 100+ for labor for this. Part's 30 bucks on Rockauto.
Glad it helped
Can you tell us what were the issue you were having that made change this sensor? Thank you
The car was shuttering on the highway once in a while.

Both of mine WERE acting up and I did end up replacing both. They were not that expensive.

If there is a check engine light on I would pull the code and see what it is pointing to and start from there.

what is that single wire sensor that is located just above the crankshaft position sensor?
I am not sure what circuit this one is on. You my be able to find a wire diagram online for it.
@@HomeownerRepair i can't identify that sensor even on diagram. There is nothing with a single wire.. so confusing..
Did that turn out to be the problem? Thanks.
How do I know if my crankshaft sensor is bad or not
Yes, all set now
Please can the crank sensor cause the coil not to work
If it is bad the car might not fire. It the car does not even try to crank check the battery. If there is a check engine light on, you may want to pull the code to see what is triggering the light.
How many sensors does a car have for this model?
I am not sure of the exact number of sensors, but there are a few.
you should push that clip, its like a button
Thank for watching our auto repair video that shows you how to replace a Hyundai Accent crankshaft sensor.
what should i do if i lost the clip?
You might be able to zip tie it together.
Thank you, you are literally saving lives out here 🥲
What’s the plug just to the left of the crankshaft sensor?
