If you want to tighten to specs it's 72 to 80 inch lbs which equates to around 6 to 7 ft lbs. Tighting sequence is start from the middle and work your way out. Great video tho.
Great vid/tips... ESPECIALLY your "ya don't have to crank it..." notes, as many of us over-tighten gaskets, only to cause gaps in the gasket, destroying it's fit and making the oil leak all over Main's best lobster joints. 😅
Great video. Would like a link to the new valve cover please. Don't want to pay around $300 for OEM but are the $50 dollar ones any good? Not afraid to tackle this now.
Thank you for watching our auto repair video that shows you how to replace the valve cover on a Hyundai Accent. We also have an auto repair video the shows you how to replace the timing chain, here is a link to it: th-cam.com/video/ahzMUlV9Gas/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uBvKpN81Yxvz9h-i

You have demystified so much for me. Is there no torque spec needed and I seen a video where the guy put sealant in the top of the valve cover where the gasket sits in is that not a good idea?
These are great little cars, pretty easy to work on too. Most of the parts are cheap. Hope this auto repair video helps you out with your new Hyundai Accent.
Not 100% sure. I would remove another one and match it up at your local hardware store. Your local Hyundai dealer should be able to get one for you. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day!
Replacing the valve cover and gasket on a Hyundai Accent is fairly easy to do. It a fairly simple auto repair, if you follow the video you shuld be okay.
😢not so great. I couldn’t get the cover to budge. I tried the rubber hammer, then I tried prying the corner and it moves slightly but I was afraid to break it. I ran out of day light so I will try again tomorrow
I finally got it. I had missed one bolt on the left, it was covered in debris but I was able to replace the gasket and took the car on a successful test spin - thanks again for your tutorial video

You can probably pull the torque specs off the internet. I have been doing this for so long I just know how snug they should be.
Thank you for this nice video

I have all the bolts off but the cover won’t budge. Should I put a screwdriver under the lip?
You may have to tap it with a rubber hammer to break it free. Hope this helps you out!
I’m doing this in real time😂. Thanks for prompt response …

GOOD job
Thanks for watching.
I came here because getting the bolts out is obvious. But after all bolts out how to loosen it? Rubber mallet?????
if you GENTLY tap it it should come loose. Did you figure it out?
