Probably the greatest written song ever!! The meaning and what many people take for granted about this great nation. As a 3 time combat veteran this song has a great meaning for me, and i cant hold back the tears every time i hear it. Remember those who have put on that uniform and sacrificed for this great country.

They played this song on Veterans Day. I was listening to it blowing off the fairways at work. Hearing it on Veterans Day just hit me. Tears started rolling down my face. No other country can compete with America. I’m thankful to live in this country. For everything I have. For the freedom the men and woman have died for.

This is by far the best song Lynyrd Skynyrd has recorded since reforming in 1987,they really hit a home run with this one ! I think of my Dad(who was a Vietnam Veteran that passed away in 2015)every time i hear this song.He loved his country and suffered greatly from wounds he received while on tour, once telling me that it was a small price to pay for putting boot to ass for his country.

To all veterans out there: We know what we've done, we've served and would serve again, and i would offer that many of us do not need a thank you. But this song and video is a pretty good description of how I want to leave this free country to my children and grandchildren. People are flooding to us in masses, why is that?

I was super confused when I heard this song, because I knew it wasn't Ronnie's voice I was hearing, but now I understand that Johnny is singing this. I absolutely love this song! I heard it today in a vid that was showing the burial plots near my house, and my grandfather was laid there. This song is the epitome of the nation and what our people are.

***** Come to think of it, I have four of them, so I can spare one for the Commander in Chief, I just have to scratch out my name, the word "Honorable"" and any reference to military service. Barack, even on his best day knows exactly who signed the blank check and who didn't even bother to pick up the checkbook, and he knows which one he is so fuck him. He'll make a great Iranian President someday, though.

Same place Trump's discharge is, in their medical files, listed under bone spurs to get out of service. Both have thrived off of hatred and eaten the plates of the middle class at every turn. If as a middle class working American you think any politician on Capital Hill have any intrest in your opinion you have already drank the cool aide. VOTE them all out, prosecute all under RICO for corruption along party lines, vote in INDEPENDENT thinkers who have no political organization pulling their strings in favor of their political agenda. Save nobody, if you set in Congress, you are a crook and prosecuted as such. Thanks for your service by the way Colin. Find politicians in your community currently, not transients who moved to a sector they think they can carry easily. If hes from California and you are from Tennessee, how does he even know anything about Tennessee living. He DOESNT, and DOESNT care about it either. Live smart and maintain our freedoms.

I believe that this song is a celebration of freedoms that blood has been shed to protect and defend by the members of all branches of our armed forces. May "GOD" bless them and their familes for their continued daily sacrafices so music like this can be recorded to celibrate these freedoms everyday. "GOD BLESS" every member of the Lynyrd Skynyrd family for the tragadies that they have endured over the years and I pray that they will continue to rock on and keep more songs like this coming.
