R.I.P. Gary Rossington ( 04.12.1951.- 05.03.2023.) was an American musician and songwriter. He is best know as a founding member of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, in which he played lead and rhythm guitar. He was also the last living founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Rossington was also a founding member of the Rossington Collins Band, along with former bandmate Allen Collins.
Allman Bros. and Skynard. The only two bands i ever heard live that could produce studio quality sound on stage and make the music sound like the album.
If you don’t get absolutely fired up listening to Skynyrd, there’s no rock in your soul! They had the perfect blend of rock, R&B, rockabilly, country, blues, and a touch of jazz. The ultimate group.
On the studio version, where Ronnie says “I know, I know, I know” and it fades out to the guitar. That for some reason gives me goosebumps, the way they recorded that intrigues me.
The Skynyrd rock story may be the most tragic ever! Watch an hour or two of Lynyrd Skynyrd live videos from the '70s and you'll be a fan almost instantaneously. The legendary talent on stage is among the best you will ever see of any live performance. I always knew and respected the band but really had no idea how great they really were. And I hate to take anything whatsoever away from the obvious great talent of the guitarists, drummer and bassists, but Ronnie Van Zant was truly a once in a lifetime lead singer, song writer, band leader and frontman. One of the worst losses in Rock and Roll history that seems to be sorely overlooked.
Out of all the great guitarists there is nothing like the sight of Allan Collins playing deep in the neck delivering his unique style of playing. My pick for the best of the greatest guitarists.

Man, truer words never been spoken,,,, Great song...Collins rips on the guitar and wawa pedal. Truly an under rated guitar player. With Rossington and then Gaines, the best for as long as they were, R.I.P. ALL THE BAND
Ronnie and the boys were in HELL House & one was picking a little Rip& a second memb.joinged& Ronnie had the 2st one backing up and start from the beginning and this is words from the BoyZ' own mouths, that Ronnie had within 20 minutes later the words to our Musical Equivalent "defining all of us"who bleed Skynyrd, our Rock National Anthem, ---> "☆ FREE BIRD ☆"^,,Thank You Lord for the time you did give us Lynyrd Skynyrd & may you appoint them to play when we are all in Heaven...!Amen... 3 lead guitars all feeding off one another, never done before, and still unheard of since..Ronnie was a Genius, and never once picked up an instrument at all, except 1(his Microphone) "Dozer" in Carrollton, Ky long live "RVZ"& Skynyrd..!

@@BST-lm4po yeah man, they were just short of playing at Madison Square Garden. Something Ronnie wanted badly.
They were the best rock n roll band than anyone else and Allen Collins was a dam good guitar player that didn't get the recognition he deserved. God bless these guys
Allen Collins was electrifying great guitarist he gave lynyrd skynyrd that special sound.
Man, truer words never been spoken,,,, Great song...Collins rips on the guitar and wawa pedal. Truly an under rated guitar player. With Rossington and then Gaines, the best for as long as they were, R.I.P. ALL THE BAND
yes sir...unreal players,so tight..
In my opinion, the Greatest American Rock Band of all time..
Ronnie Van Zant is so underrated. He just commands attention on stage.
Without having to lift a finger! His little brother Donnie liked to show boat on stage, Johnny a little too. Ronnie was very understated
Ronnie and the boys were in HELL House & one was picking a little Rip& a second memb.joinged& Ronnie had the 2st one backing up and start from the beginning and this is words from the BoyZ' own mouths, that Ronnie had within 20 minutes later the words to our Musical Equivalent "defining all of us"who bleed Skynyrd, our Rock National Anthem, --->
"☆ FREE BIRD ☆"^,,Thank You Lord for the time you did give us Lynyrd Skynyrd & may you appoint them to play when we are all in Heaven...!Amen...
3 lead guitars all feeding off one another, never done before, and still unheard of since..Ronnie was a Genius, and never once picked up an instrument at all, except 1(his Microphone)
"Dozer" in Carrollton, Ky
long live "RVZ"& Skynyrd..!
