Alex - thanks for the review. A few comments: we made the MitoPRO 1500 longer because the most common comment we received on 'body panels" was "the light is only 36 inches tall - how is it a full body panel?". Also, we DO NOT recommend stacking 2 MitoPRO 1500. Adding a MitoPRO 750 to the bottom, creates a ~5.5 foot tall panel - placed on a stand or hanging a few inches off the ground, you now have a panel about 6 feet high, that covers head to toe and is also $500 less cost (the MitoPRO 750+1500 package is currently only $1699 before coupon code). A few other corrections / clarifcations: 1) We are FDA Class II registered and have been for some time. This is right on our home page and every product listing so not sure how you missed it. 2) Our ETL certification is in progress and should be finalized this month. Control number: 5022991. 3) We do not charge ANY restocking fee, whereas at this moment, the other company charges 20% restocking fee on 'elective returns'. This is right on their warranty/returns page, so again, not sure how you missed this. Finally, and this is a longer discussion that we will write an article about - it is not true to say that 660nm and 850nm are the 'best' wavelengths. It may be a fiar statement to say that they are the 'most studied' but most studied best. For instance we know that 808nm in cadaver studies on the skull/brain was shown to penetrate the deepest. 660nm and 850nm LEDs are used in other industries and are cheaper / easier to source. Also, just the way science often works, one study may show benefit for one application so a follow up study is done using the same wavelenghts. We will publish a detailed article on this topic in the next month. Thanks - Team Mito
Hey, Thanks guys for your comment. Interesting point regarding the length and body panel claim - it's something that I often get pulled up on in my reviews! Calling a panel like a Joovv Solo or A bioMax 900 a body panel when it really only covers 1/4 of the body!! Re stacking a 1500 with a 750 - good point and I should have noted that in the video. It does make an interesting comparison against 2x 900's. FDA - ahh I'm not sure how I missed that either. I remember looking on the site before filming, so I do apologise for that. Ok I just looked at the site. I know how I missed it, I looked at the site footer and read your FDA disclaimer and this is why I assumed you weren't FDA approved. I apologise for this again. ETL - good to see thats coming through. Restocking fee - Ok this I'm sure I read properly. Because I spent a bit of time looking into this before filming. Let me check my notes now... brb.... So my info was gathered from this page: mitoredlight.com/policies/refund-policy First there was this line: Mito Red Light, Inc (Mito Red) offers a full 60 day trial on all of our products. Because we offer free shipping within the U.S., return shipping is paid by the customer. Then under warranty I saw this: Mito Red will replace the products at no charge. For the first 180 days, Mito Red will be responsible for all shipping costs related to your request. After the first 180 days, buyer will be responsible for product shipping charges and related coverage while in transit to Mito Red. Please retain the tracking information for proof of delivery to us. But I do apologise if I have misinterpreted things in my video. Platinum have told me that they don't charge fee's for any warranty/replacement issues. 660/850nm - yes fair point there. I will admit it has been a few years since I took a good deep dive into the literature on all of the wavelengths, so it is something I will be doing myself in the near future. I will pin your comment to the top of this video as I have made some mistakes and you have brought up some good points that viewers should be aware of!
@@LightTherapyInsiders You are confusing warranty claims and restocking fees on elective returns. Restocking fees refer to returns within the 60 day trial period. Some companies will DEDUCT 20%-25% from the product price if a customer is not satisfied with the product and returns it for a refund within the 60 day trial period. To us, that policy does not qualify as a "60 day no risk trial", hence we do not charge restocking fees on elective returns within the trial period. Hope that clarifies.
Hello, it doesn't give any details on your website regarding where your products, including the components, are manufactured. Do you have these details at all?
I was all set to buy the biomax 900 but it goes against the grain to do business with a company who has such bad customer service, charging 20% restocking fee and a D rating with the BBB, I just can't do it. I think if I can find the information about the 20% restocking fee so could you. I'm going to order the Mitopro 1500 because having good customer service and no restocking fee means a lot.
@@Gojemba yes, I did get the Mitopro 1500 and I love it. About a week ago I added the 750. These were an investment but well worth it. After a month, here are the results: my sprained thumb no longer hurts, a pinky joint doesn't ache anymore. When I wake in the morning I don't feel stiff. I still have allergies but they don't affect me as much. I feel relaxed and I'm more flexible. My skin looks better. My husband has more serious health issues but he also getting results. I do 5 minutes per body part morning and most nights. Now that I have both lights I do 5 minutes front and back so 10 minutes and I'm done. Now and then when I have time I'll do maybe the top of my head or spend a few minutes on my hands. Mitopro are really good to answer questions. I thought I lost a screw and they were going to send me one right away but I found it. The only down side is that living in Arizona I had to pay taxes because they are located in this state. Their 10% military discount helped.
@@Gojemba I don't know about sales but that would be nice. If I had bought the 1500 and the 750 together I would have saved $99 but I didn't know I was going to want both at the time. I hope you love whatever you get.
Good point about the width of the panels. I ordered the MitoPro and had a Joov which was the same width. What I do is sway and move myself throughout the treatment. I’m only 5’8. That’s my work around. Great vid as always!
That's why I got 2 BioMax 900; it has excellent coverage. I'm 6'4'. I like adjusting the power for IR+ and R light independently. In the evening, I run the red light at a low power setting before going to bed for atmosphere lighting, a great feature. I wish they had a travel size with an adjustable power/light setting, but overall great product so far. Keep up the great work, sir.
I did the math on the MitoPRO if you read this. The panel is 10" wide but approx 9" wide for LEDs. I don't have one to measure so I am estimating. The LED angle of view is 60degrees. At 6" distance from the panel the Light from a single LED spreads 3.46" in either direction for a total spread of 6.92". If the LED area is 9" across approx. then adding 6.92" would give you a treatment coverage of 15.92" at 6" distance. So yes you aren't getting full coverage but you are getting more coverage than you thought. At a distance of 7" you would absolutely be getting full coverage but you would need a longer duration but still likely much shorter than 2x sessions at 6". I hope this was helpful.
I just purchased biolight ReStore+ can’t wait to get it it is 12 inch large x 36 inch long the only one with dual diode (300) red/near infrared in the same diode….i am soooo exited…thanks to one of your comments I read below
A couple of detail questions for you Alex. 1. Bio max 900 leds have 90 degree beam spread vs 60 degree led beam spread for Mito 1500. What’s the difference? What’s the effect on use? 2. I use currently the Bio max 900 and when I look at myself under the lights I am polka dotted with distinct spots of IR and NIR. Even when I stand back from the panel. If this is the result of hot spots, what is the impact on therapy from this unit?
Agreed. I thought the beam angle was important enough that it may change your selection, especially if you’re unable to stand close to the unit (for example someone who must use a chair). Would beam angle also be more important if your treatment area is an area where you have more fat or fluid buildup (such as lymphedema)? I think I also read that penetration is amplified when different wavelengths are used close to each other… so would Mito do a better job because theirs are closer together? So confusing.
Hey, I used to cover beam angles, but I've since seen that it doesn't seem to impact much - I've seen panels with wide beam angles still have these polka dot effects and then a panel with a narrow angle not - and vice versa. I do cover the 'hotspot' effect in my comparision series, but I have moved on a bit from being so critical about it now. But this is just based on personal opinion, I don't have any hard science to support my views. All I know is I have been using BioMax panels for a few years now and I continue to get great results. I will do a video on beam angles this year though :)
@@LightTherapyInsiders I am most curious about this topic as well and would love to see a video on this topic. I recently purchased a biomax 600 to only afterwards hear opinions from people saying that the 90 degree angle isn't as effective as a 60< angle. Do you really believe it isn't that significant?
Alex, I have the 900 + 450 linked together. I’m 5’2”. I lie about 8 inches under mine. Is this too close? Also, when you use the panels do you use both the red and the NIR together? I totally agree about the dimensions of the Biomax vs the Mito. The mitopro is too skinny/narrow. I opted for the 900/450 combo because I’m petite and the 900 + 900 would’ve been too much unless lights. Thanks for your reviews. I love your channel.
HERE'S SOMETHING ppl should be aware of. Platinum CHARGES you an EXTRA FEE to insure the product gets to you and is undamaged, not lost & not stolen. If you choose NOT to pay this fee, and you get a damaged box (or FedEx loses the shipment & it happens), it's on YOU to fight with FedEx for a refund. WHAT a NIGHTMARE THAT will be. Mito DOES NOT - this is a big deal. Platinum talks about their great customer service and then nickle & dimes you when spending, in my case, nearly $5,000 dollars. I think this is a very poor policy. I have NEVER had a company try to charge me for this...they take responsibility for getting you an intact product that works.
Agreed.I just read that yesterday when I was checking out and it stopped me in my tracks. Has me leaning toward the mito. Also very curious about the 60 vs 90. At the end of the day I truly believe there are huge benefits in red light therapy. However, at these price points I would want to be a lot more confident in my choice. I wish the mito was wider but with that power/irradiance rating will we not get same benefit at 8-12 away from panel? Assuming as you back up more area is covered? Would love to see that in a comparison. Is this 900 still not as good as the 600 when you chose to use the 600 big panel review? Or is this 900 updated since then? Thanks for all you do Alex but still so undecided.
@@boomcg4351 Same thing happened to me...was checking out and saw the extra charge and when I read it, I decided to pull my order. If I read your comment correctly, the benefits will diminish the further you get from the red light panel. Also, I wish the Mito was wider but my order was for 4 panels so not as much of a concern. I can tell you that the difference in price was almost a $1,000 dollars less (largest 4-panel Mito vs largest 4-panel Biomax). For that difference you cld almost buy a 4-panel Mito and a Biomax 600 or 900 vs just a 4-panel Biomax. Anyway, good luck in your search!
Hey. Lots to cover here - I'll do my best. Re the shipping insurance - I'm confused. So if you pay for insurance, and the parcel goes missing, you then reach out to the shipping company. Am I missing something here? Is this not how things work? Sorry like I said I am confused with this :P And is it that MitoRed include insurance for free? Re size - I think the wider panels are much better. In fact I'm going to do some videos early next year exploring panel size. Really if you were to get 4x BioMax 900's you have a 2 foot wide, 6 feet tall panel - which is going to treat most people. If you go with MitoRed, you'd want to go with 2x 1500s and maybe 2x 750s (as 4x 1500s is far too high), but then you still don't have the full width and your arms won't be covered for instance. There are new BioMax's coming out - I'm testing them at the moment. Stay tuned for my videos on these panels.
@@LightTherapyInsiders Platinum CHARGES EXTRA for shipping insurance (see the option @ checkout) to cover packages damaged during shipping, lost during shipping or delivered to the wrong address. Now, they require a signature @ delivery so how cld it get delivered to the wrong address? So why charge me for this? But here's the thing, if I haven't taken delivery of my red light, shouldn't it be their responsibility to address any of these issues? It is out of my control. Now, after I have taken delivery, and something happens, then it's on me to address @ my expense. Best example....you order something, anything on Amazon and it doesn't get to you or it's damaged along the way, Amazon makes it right....and they don't ask for extra $$ to ensure this policy. I was ready to go, credit card in hand and @ checkout & saw this and stopped!!! IMO Platinum shld not be trying to squeeze us. These are not $20 items....they are expensive and we shld know the company we are purchasing through has our backs. BTW Alex, you do an AMAZING JOB and I'm thankful for all you do!!
Hey Alex! I'm a new subscriber and love your thorough reviews! What do you think of the BIOLIGHT panels? They seem to have one unique panel that uses LEDS which radiate both Red Light, and NIR (from the same bulb). Have you looked into these?
@@LightTherapyInsiders And that's right after you've mentioned that you want to stop doing reviews for a while :) but their panel does look unique in the market, at least from "double duty" LEDS aspect of things.
I'm still confused which one to buy! I do NOT like that Biomax has a 20% return restocking fee. Also, the Biomax customer service is terrible! I personally think the Biomax panel looks better than the MitoPro. So Confused!!
Where are you located? Maybe shipping rates will help influence your decision? Actually, it may come down to who has stock, a lot of companies are pre-order only at the moment.
What are the customer service issues? I am between these two brands I have reached out to both asking them general questions and both have replied very quickly and answered questions so I’m not sure if it’s an old issue they had and that has been fixed or if I just got lucky and got the one good customer service person today. I like that the Bio Max is bigger but then I keep hearing about customer service issues
Hi Alex, im a new subscriber here, been watchinf your videos and reading some of your blog. ive read on 1 of your blog about 810nm is better for brain/nerve health, but mitopro 1500 doesnt have 810nm which is what im leaning towards but after reading your information im torn between mitoadapt max or biomax 900 series both of them has 810nm, i have carpal tunnel and inflammation and my hubby injured his knee and we want to try rlt to see if it will help him regain complete walking function of his knee and also help me with my issues. Will you be doing Mitoadapt max a review in the near future? cause i been looking but seems like no one doing a review about it... thank you
Hey, No their MitoPro panel doesn't have 810nm, but as you mention their new MitoADAPT range does - That has 25% of the energy going to 810nm. The BioMax only has a few % of energy in the 810nm range. So you may be better off going with the MitoRed product. I am going to do a deep dive review of their larger panel in the future yes. In the mean time hopefully my review on their smaller panel will help - th-cam.com/video/J8ZelkeQiKg/w-d-xo.html
@AlexFergusdotcom thank you so much for the input, and ive watched the mitored review already and leaning more towards the adapt but worried about the power consumption like you mention the mitopro power consumption is way better than the smaller mitoadapt, i appreciate your hard work, thank you for continuing on educating us about red light therapy machine out there
Would you say Platinum is worth extra hundreds of bucks compared to MitoRed? :( I only intend to use for my neck/face - their irradiance seem to be the same anyway...
Hey, check this out - th-cam.com/video/5fRQDFVotqY/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/2-RuTfCpirk/w-d-xo.html I do like the PlatinumLED control panel and wireless connectivity (if you're going to get multiple panels)
BBB is not as legit as you’d think. It’s basically Angie’s List or Yelp … the word “Bureau” makes it sound all scary and official, but it’s just a paid directory for businesses. It’s not part of any government agency. It’s also a massive PITA for business owners to deal with if a customer writes a complaint too, which is ironic because business owners are who pay the dues that funds the BBB. Anyway, most businesses don’t have the resources/bandwidth to adequately respond to BBB complaints, and things fall thru the cracks. So, without the kind of review volume of Google, all it takes is a few upset customers and a lacking response from the business to drop BBB ratings. After all, no one goes to BBB unless they have an issue. No positive reviews to help balance things out.
Price is not exactly the same because Mito Red adds tax where as Platinum does not. Not sure why that difference, but even so that can make a relatively large difference to the bottom line.
Yeah good point. I tend to ignore tax as it varies between states and countries. I know it's not ideal from a review/comparision point of view, but otherwise the video would take 20mins just on price alone :P
No reason why you couldn't sit. You wouldn't get the same light coverage I guess. Some people also lay under them and use Horizontal stands that most of the companies sell.
Hi Alex, I was wondering, I am only 5ft 1 so would one panel be good for me? I want one of these so bad but can't afford it right now but when I can, I am getting one. I sure wish the price would go down for us out here in no gas and food land. Thank you, Alex, I am now hooked on your videos and I shared them with friends.
Hey thanks for the support. Have you looked at the smaller panels - like a BioMax 450? It's good value and you can always expand later on? Otherwise if you can afford a BioMax 900 or even a 600 then yeah you'll be doing great. I used a Joovv Solo Gen 1 (similar size to the BioMax 600) for a good 6 months when I started off in RLT - it's all I had and it was awesome!
Thanks a lot great video as always! Mr alex! I wanna ask a weird question, i have a very expensive tv do you know whether it will be affected the tv pic or something if i put it infront or on the next on the right of it wall? Thanks big bro!
Hey no worries! No there shouldn't be any interference here. I have never seen it impact my screens (TV and monitors) and I have used them pretty close to the panels. :)
Love your videos you do a awesome job. Just a quick question, as far as results in the aspect of health. Which one is better ? Take away restocking fee, customer care, heat, etc Just on healing the body, Same results? Or does one push a little more healing power? Thanks
Good question and I don't know if I have a sold answer. The key difference here is wavelengths. The BioMax mainly uses 660 and 850nm light, the MitoRed has only 50% of power going to 660/850 - and 50% going to the 2 other wavelengths. I honestly can't give a solid answer as to which one is better at this stage. There is so much science out there and still a lot we don't know. If it helps I use the BioMax panels in my home.
What accessories do you recommend ?with one panel how is bust way to get lower body and upper body coverage ? Do you need to stand face for 10 min and the 10 min with your back to lights ?
I thought the same thing and returned my Mito Red to buy the Platinum Led with my HSA. the Platinum website says it is covered by Has/Fsa . However it does not say that is provided you have a medical certificate by a doctor! I could not obtain one and had to repay my HSa as they denied it without the certificate . Buyer beware!!!!!
BioMax 900 now comes with blue light that can be switched off. Does the MitoPro 1500 come with the same? Really looking for the blue light enhancement but quite frankly spooked by all the comments regarding additional charges/sub par customer service coming from Platinum LED. Thanks!
I am gearing towards mitored but someone did a video where he measured the irradiance at 6 inches. Website saying >135 mw2/cm2 and in the video his device is saying 50 mw2/cm2. Do you have a meter to measure this? what are your thoughts on this?
I do. You can see what tools I use here th-cam.com/video/AQArU9qLi8g/w-d-xo.html And you can see my data figures here - th-cam.com/video/iWoFXon6q-E/w-d-xo.html
At 6 and 12 inches, what are the power outputs of the MitoPro 1500 and BioMax 900 at the 810nm wavelength? On the Fence, which to buy. If I'm understanding the warranty repair shipping correctly -- BioMax no shipping cost, MitoPro you pay shipping to get warranty work done- Is that correct?
Hey, I can't test 810nm exclusively - only all of NIR (i.e. 810, 830 and 850nm combined). But there is no 810nm in the mitoRed, and only 5% of the LED's are 810nm in the Biomax. Shipping for warranty issues - tbh I couldn't tell you what the situation is - it always seems to change and a lot of companies treat each issue on a case by case basis - it's why I know longer cover this topic in my reviews
You could get a MitoPRO 1500 and 750 but then that doesn't solve the width Issues. PlatniumLED doesn't have a great BBB rating, how can I feel comfortable buying from them?
@@Shsisofofjensjskkf @collectivemindz I just did business with them against the ratings. Over $5,000 worth of business . It is the most dishonest and horrid customer service company I have ever done business with. You can see the review coming on BBB and Trust Pilot for details. Reviews on a customer website are easily fabricated. They cancelled my order the day its was finally scheduled to be delivered, a month late with no notification, no refund receipt, I found this out day of delivery from Fed Ex when it didn't arrive. The Rep at Platinum LED hung up on me when I inquired and my number is blocked from calling the customer service line for resolution.
@@Shsisofofjensjskkf Hello, I wish I could answer this but unfortunately after a month of waiting and $5,000+ spent I never received. They continously lied about the order already shipping for weeks on end, and were rude every step of the way. When I finally was able to get a tracking number from them and called Fed Ex myself to schedule. The day of delivery, without communicating this, they called Fed Ex and said to deliver back to them instead ( I found out by calling FedEx at 7pm that day wondering where delivery was). PLatinum LED was laughing on the call, then hung up on me and blocked my number from calling to inquire about a refund. I never raised my voice, swore or anything to warrant that. Which is a criminal offense on their part. You can see my full experience (and others) on Trust Pilot & BBB (which they are graded an F). You'll find hundreds and hundreds of horrid experiences with them on 3rd party sites - and not one negative review on their own site, which tells you how valid their site reviews are. I'm learning more about Hooga (stronger specs, far better price and customer service reviews), GembaRed, MitoRed - all that have far superior reputations. Of course there's Joov & others as well. Wishing you better luck in your experience than we had!
Hey yeah the extra with of the Biomax 900/450 is quite handy. I need to do more testing on the light coverage, but really you want the panel to be as wide as the area you want to treat. Re PlatinumLED. I just published this response on another thread so I'll post it here as well: Hey. I should probably do a video addressing this. It's hard for me to gauge how good or bad a companies customer service is. My experiences when dealing with a company are not typical given what I do on this channel. Now yes I have heard some shocking stories from customers interacting with PlatinumLED - but I have also heard some shocking stories from other companies (I literally received one lengthy email from a customer of another company this morning). In fact I would be hard pressed to find a company that hasn't received some bad customer care reviews. Platinum are also one of the biggest (if not the biggest) RLT in the market. So for every 1 bad review there may be 100's of positive stories. I'm not saying this to defend Platinum, but it is important to be aware of these facts. The reason why I don't talk about Customer service in my videos is because I can't quantify it. And my experience dealing with these companies is not a true representation of what a regular customer can expect (often I an put in touch directly with the owner / CEO for instance). So I simply leave all of this out of my reviews. As for the BBB and TrustPilot reviews - so I recently looked at these and again I can't use the data in here in a review. Some of these big companies only have a handful of reviews on these sites. If they had 1000's or even 100's of reviews then it would become a talking point. But ~15 reviews over 10 years in business is not a big tell. PLUS when i look at the BBB and TrustPilot reviews for other RLT companies I see they also have some negative ratings. I hope this adds some clarity to the matter. I try and focus on the product itself in my reviews and for the last few years Platinum has created a solid panel with a lot of features and at a good price.
I just paid US$250 to get a Mito pro 300 + 750 shipped to NZ! Crazy, but hey I want those panels so what else to do? Hope import duty is bypassed! I would love to put into my infra red sauna but guessing that won't be good for it?
Ouch!! They are good panels though. I wouldn't put it in the sauna - they are electrical units that are not designed to be used in high heat environments or environments where their is moisture (sweat). I'll do a video covering this soon. In the mean time check out this - th-cam.com/video/2GyfZmv2MeY/w-d-xo.html
@@LightTherapyInsiders thanks - looks good! The most painful thing about the $250 'express shipping', is that 1 week later, Mito still haven't even started the process. Feeling cheated on that one!
It's a flip of a coin. which one do you like better? The Biomax has the nicer control panel, but the MitoPro has more energy going to different wavelengths.
I have the 900 and 450 panels. I bought them for anti-aging purposes and to think in my hair. I’ve asked this question over and over but how far away should I stand from my panels. Thank you so much in advance
Am I understanding this right? You measured the Mito Pro 1500 at 88 mW/cm², but their website says it's >170 at 6 inches. Am I missing something? Still learning. I have a MitoPro 750, and I'm sensing it's not the promised irradiance which is making dosing difficult.
Hey, yeah I don't understand how the companies come up with their figures - a lot of them use different meters etc. I know my measurements are good for comparing the products I test. It's all a bit confusing - really a panel needs to be sent to an independent lab for testing. Either way the MitoPro panels are very powerful - you don't have a lemon :)
I use a Hoyer lift to hold the 1500 horizontally facing the ground, and lower it over the top of me when I'm lying down. I get good overage when it is about 3 to 6 inches off my skin. I think this light s quite powerful, and anything more powerful would cause some notice with being a bit warm. I know 6 inches is their preferred minimum distance, but I like living on the edge. ;0) It is a great light, and I'm am seeing incredible benefits for excellent energy levels all day long, vastly improved wound healing, muscle strength increases, muscle size increase, well being and anti-depressive, improved sleep, less food intake and better digestion, no more lower back issues and pains, much improved skin conditioning, and even my eyesight is improving. Excellent product!
Hey Alex, i know red light is recommended for neuropathy. Do you have any thought on this? Which panel would be best for this medical condition in terms of wavelengths?
Hey, tbh I'm not familiar with this condition. I would suggest having a look through this document - aferg.co/science and searching for neuropathy and seeing what you come up with.
The1500 is 42 inches high, the 300 11 so thats 4.4 ft tall - not quite your full body. You may want to get a 1500 + a 750 instead? Of course this is on the assumption you want head to toe coverage?
I’ve asked this before. I have the 904 50 panels. How far away do you stand? Are you using both the red light and near infrared light. My concerns are wrinkles and thickening of hair. How far away do you stand!
Hey, it depends on a lot of factors (session duration, how often you use the panel etc) but with these new panels 6 inches away is great. And yeah I use both red and NIR at full power
Do you check that the bulbs used ie 3w or 5w that are quoted in the specs are those actually used in the unit you are testing. I read online of one unit that said it had 5w only had 3w bulbs!!!!!
Hey, I have a video coming out on this topic soon - so be sure to stay tuned for that - but really it doesn't matter what they are - what matters is how much light is being emitted from the bulb (I.e. you could have a 10w bulb and it is only running at 10% due to heat issues etc). So look at the power output/irradiance figures - thats what really matters :)
@@LightTherapyInsiders BTW the shipping cost has gone through the roof! I just ordered the Mitopro 1500 and shipping was TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY AMERICAN DOLLARS 😱
I saw a video of someone who took apart the MitoRed and found the bulbs were 3W and not the reported 5W. They also measured the irradiance and found it to be lower than claimed. He indicated that they ripped off Biomax and it’s the only video on his channel. Any thoughts?
Hi. Yes I have seen that video. It is a strange video as it starts off as a buying guide then ends up being a MitoRed bashing video! And like you said there are no other videos on the channel. Anyway I don't bother with the 3watt vs 5watt LED debate - I just test total power output as at the end of the day that is what matters.
@@LightTherapyInsiders I ended up using your code and getting the biomax for the extra width after watching several of your videos. Thanks for all the hard work to provide detailed reviews.
@@LightTherapyInsiders did you measure the irradiance with a meter? if not that would be super helpful! thats the only thing holding me back from buying the mitrored pannel

Could either of these panels be installed in a bathroom or would the humidity damage them (even if not turned on while the environment is humid from a shower)? Having a hard time finding a place to put these.
Yeah I wouldn't do it. The panels are open for air flow and I wouldn't want moisture to be getting in there. Hang them on the back of a bedroom door perhaps? Or the door of a wardrobe?
@@LightTherapyInsiders Thanks. I’ll keep looking for a spot. May just have to hang them high and drop them down to use them. Space is at a premium and almost every wall and door has been damaged by rollators and wheelchairs that clip them because this apartment predates ADA guidelines. Thanks for your time and your very thorough videos.
I am trying to find a company that has a EU shop so I don't have to pay import taxes and so I feel more secure about returns/warranty should something go wrong. I just checked the Biomax site, but it is not clear if they have a eu-shop or it is still imported. Mito said is all from US. Can anyone hint for brands in Europe? Thanks!
Platinum are in the USA as well. Check out: Rouge Care Red light rising Solbasium Infraredi LuminousRed I think they are european based or at least have warehouses in the EU. Discount code ALEX should work with all of these companies as well.
Honestly, I'm not sure either of these companies (Platinum or Mito) understands what good public relations and good customer service is. Try getting help pre-sales....BEFORE you have given them any money. I;m always suspect of a company if I can't get help BEFORE I've given them my money, how difficult will it be AFTER I've purchased something and I need help?!?!
Hey, yes fair point. It's similar with really big companies - all tickets and automated emails etc. Sometimes it's better working with the smaller companies like LightPathLED or Kala, or LuminiousRed or Red Light Rising as often they often do free 15min consults before or after buying a product.
I just did business with them against the ratings.
@@TE-ss3fh Exactly! You can’t trust this company,IMO! Just call your CC company and explain and they will get your money back. Sorry this happened to you. I ended up buying the Mito (2x1500 + 2x750) and one of the panels was defective. They shipped out a brand new panel immediately and never asked for CC as a guarantee. I’m happy I chose them and NOT Platinum.
@@GTB1 I just did this today - thank goodness I have a great bank, otherwise I would have had no way of ensuring I'd receive that money back. It's frustrating as it was purchased for pain management for a family member getting out of the ICU, and not only was money originally lost, but over a month of time being consistently lied to about shipping that could have been spent working with a reputable company.
Yeah and so if you got another one you could have a wider coverage area but still get a lot of 'vertical' body coverage. Personally though I think the wider panels are better (BioMax 900 for instance) as you really do need 2x 1 foot wide panels to get full shoulder to shoulder coverage
@@LightTherapyInsiders Oh okay thanks 😄looks a little deceiving inna way but yes I believe you're correct sir . Wonderful Channel , glad I'm subscribed .
Since you’ve had both panels for a length of time all of this discussion about customer service with the platinum bio Max have you ever experienced any customer service issues are had better customer service from one or the other
Hey, tbh I can't really comment on this - as companies know I have a decent following in the RLT space so the customer care that I get may not be a true reflection of what a customer gets. But I know a lot of my viewers have purchased BioMax panels recently and I'm not hearing any negative reports from them
Alex you are a great BioMax sales person. However your over the top bias for BioMax hurts your credibility on being able to review any other product line. As a newbie doing a deep dive into red light therapy, I’d prefer to get less bias in your reviews. I want the facts and not your preferences. In your review the bad customer service, restocking fees and the hotspot issues for the BioMax 900 were glossed over or not mentioned? Those are BIG ISSUES with the BioMax 900 that were glossed over. However, with the minor differences between the two devises, you are far more critical of the MitoRed products consistently across your videos. I’m actually surprised you allowed the MitoPro 1500 win the last 12 panel full comparison a year ago. And thank you for providing me with the information I needed to make an informed decision. Your videos helped me understand what I need to look for in my panel and I’m excited to be purchasing a MitoRedLight MitoAdapt Max.
Hey Dino, Thanks for the feedback - I do appreciate it. I try my hardest not to take favourites - and aim to look at the facts and review products from a quantitative point of view. BUT then I have had years of using RLT devices and have literally tested dozens if not hundreds of them - so sometimes I do share insights and preferences that I think are important. Maybe subconsciously I do favour Biomax because I personally use it and have had amazing results with it- but I don't intend to show any favouritism in my videos. A few things to note though: 1) I earn a commission off both biomax sales and Mitored sales. And the commission rate is the same, so there is no financial incentive for me to promote one over the other. Not that I would do that anyway - I aim to play the long term game and build a solid reputation etc. 2) I don't review customer service as I can't. It's impossible for me to do it fairly. I explain it all here - th-cam.com/video/KOKTRA_9uLM/w-d-xo.html 3) You want facts not preferences - I touch on this above, but as a reviewer, I want to share both. I watch a lot of car review channels. The guys that I like the most are those that share the numbers, but then add their personal insight... how a seat feels to sit in after a 3 hour drive, what the road noise is like, their experience putting a car seat in etc. If it was all about the facts, then I could just look at the car's website and be done with it. Sure one panel may be more powerful than another, or one may sound louder than another. But what about ease of use - what about the location of the power plug, what about the noise of the fan - is it annoying? What about the manual that comes with it, what about the control panel etc. Control panels have changed a lot in the last year or so. But PlatinumLED still have the best by far. Even though these new ROJO and Rouge control panels have nicer menus etc, they're still worlds away from the smoothness and simplicity of the BioMax touch screen. Call me biased or not, but anyone that has spent a few hours with these panels will hands down say theirs is better. The MitoRed MitoPro control panel is worlds apart from the PlatinumLED one. That signal feature alone could be the reason a lot of people by BioMax over MitoRed. 4) Hotspot issue - I go back and forth on this one. I can't decide if it's a massive issue or not. The reason being, there is peer reviewed papers showing that if you treat one side of the body, the other side benefits. So does it matter if some of the light is present in one area but not in another? I don't know. 5) MitoPro winning the series - I have no idea what the outcome is when I go into that series. I spend a long time planning the scoring - I speak to a lot of people in the industry helping me get a fair system and try to determine what I'm trying to achieve. I then do the testing and scoring and film as I go along. If the joovv came out number 1, then so be it. And if the Joovv was the best panel then I'd probably reconsider their affiliate deal (as you need to be exclusive with them only) as I want to promote the best etc. At the end of the day I share the facts and my insights - and I hope that people can watch all of this and make an informed decision. So I am pleased to hear this is exactly what you have done after watching all the videos.
MiitoPRO isn't crap at all. Their light is actually better than the BIOMAX 600. The intensity of received energy of Red + NIR is very strong. You won't be disappointed..

A few other corrections / clarifcations:
1) We are FDA Class II registered and have been for some time.
Is it possible to mount the MitoPro750+1500 in a MitoPro Floor Stand? The white one...Thanks!
Let me check my notes now... brb....
So my info was gathered from this page:
mitoredlight.com/policies/refund-policy
First there was this line:
Mito Red Light, Inc (Mito Red) offers a full 60 day trial on all of our products.
Because we offer free shipping within the U.S., return shipping is paid by the customer.
Then under warranty I saw this:
Mito Red will replace the products at no charge.

Good point about the width of the panels. I ordered the MitoPro and had a Joov which was the same width. What I do is sway and move myself throughout the treatment. I’m only 5’8. That’s my work around. Great vid as always!
Yeah this is what i used to do when I only had 1 panel :)
Hey, nice it looks like you're getting the most out of your panel!
Hey, check this out:

Sounds great! Let me know how you get on with it :)
I would be very interested to hear your opinion of the Biolight. I’m seriously considering that unit.
Very curious about beam angle too
Yes, I am curious about this as well.

Hi, Alex. Thank you so much for these reviews! They're so educational. Have you reviewed any Juvawave panels?
Hey thanks! No I haven't. I'll add them to my list.
Sorry like I said I am confused with this :P
And is it that MitoRed include insurance for free?

Hey,
No their MitoPro panel doesn't have 810nm, but as you mention their new MitoADAPT range does -
That has 25% of the energy going to 810nm.
The BioMax only has a few % of energy in the 810nm range. So you may be better off going with the MitoRed product.

Mito red light customer service has been amazing for me personally. Cannot speak for others, but I recommend them!
That's one of the reasons I went with MitoRed.
I like the MitoPro 1500 and 750 combo.
F rating aot
What about the new mats that are coming out?
Hoping to start testing this soon, sub and stay tuned for more :)
Hey Alex I know this is about the Biomax and MitoPro but is there a equivilent panel made in Australia or NZ
Hey. Check out Rojo - th-cam.com/video/Ki4V8H6hxHU/w-d-xo.html
I have a review of their 3000 coming out soon as well :) Be sure to Sub and Stay tuned
You always comment about standing in front of the panels. Any reason you can't sit 6 inches away from them?
@@LightTherapyInsiders oh thats means a lot thanks man!
Hey Alex, would you recommend one panel vs the other specifically for nerve and joint pain?
Hey, you may want to get something with 805-810nm light in it. The MitoADAPT panel has a decent amount of 810nm LEDs
@@LightTherapyInsidersCan that also have the same effect as the 660 and 850s?
Love your videos you do a awesome job. Just a quick question, as far as results in the aspect of health. Which one is better ? Take away restocking fee, customer care, heat, etc
Just on healing the body, Same results?
Hey yeah if you only have one panel then yes you have to move around or change the position of the panel.
I am thinking of getting the Platinum one since it says it is covered by an HSA .
They're great panels
@@LightTherapyInsiders thanks for the great review! hoping to get relief from pain in feet and knees and a little less facial wrinkles!
Thanks!
Hey no. As far as I know, the only company that offers Blue LEDs is platinum.
Can any red light panels pulse at 40Hz, which has been shown in numerous studies to be very helpful for brain function?
Yes quite a few can. LightPathLED. Rojo Therapy. Infrared. BlockBlueLight. I have reviewed a few of these :)
Danes subscriber and still thinking on which one. I also hear the 40Hz helps with Brain function or cognition. Can BioMax or MitoRed do that? Thx
But are those as good as BioMax and MitoRed?
I am gearing towards mitored but someone did a video where he measured the irradiance at 6 inches. Website saying >135 mw2/cm2 and in the video his device is saying 50 mw2/cm2. Do you have a meter to measure this? what are your thoughts on this?
I do. You can see what tools I use here th-cam.com/video/AQArU9qLi8g/w-d-xo.html
And you can see my data figures here - th-cam.com/video/iWoFXon6q-E/w-d-xo.html
anyone know if I can shine this on my private?
Yes.
Came here to say the same thing about their bbb rating
@@TE-ss3fh were the products at least good?
I just published this response on another thread so I'll post it here as well:
Hey.
Hey Alex, what do you think of the company EMR tek They are from Canada, they're lights look different .
Hey, Yeah I'm hoping to get my hands on some of their gear this year and I'll be sure to do a review. Until then I can't really make a comment sorry
I'd be interested as well!
My question is, do they really make a difference in many areas? Or is it just very slight difference and takes a year to see or feel it
Do you mean red light therapy? Or the difference between panels?
@@LightTherapyInsiders I guess both are fair questions but I did mean Red light in general
Hi Alex,
Mito Pro 750 vs Biomax 450. Which one should I purchase?
Please advise. Thanks ^^
Hey, it depends on a lot of factors (session duration, how often you use the panel etc) but with these new panels 6 inches away is great
Did it help your hair to regrowth or become thicker?
@@PhillipLearnTeach yes but I also do microneedling etc
is the mitopro using the 3 watt or 5 watt led?
I'm not sure, but don't worry about this - look at the power output (irradiance) figure insteaad
I'll take the MitoPRO 1500. They also have a 10% Military Discount for Veterans.
Oh very nice!
Why not test Mito Mega 64 x 17 vs two 900’s? About the same price
Hoping to do this in 2024 :)
I’m 5’1. Is mitored pro 1500 + 300 tall enough for me?
Have you reviewed any Juvawave panels?
No I haven't. I'll add them to my list.
Thank you!😊
Hi Alex. Could you please tell me what sort of plug is on the Mitopro 1500? I’m guessing I’ll need an adapter for my Australian power points

No you will get a country specific plug so you won't need an adapter :)

Hey, yes fair point. It's similar with really big companies - all tickets and automated emails etc. Sometimes it's better working with the smaller companies like LightPathLED or Kala, or LuminiousRed or Red Light Rising as often they often do free 15min consults before or after buying a product.

Was their thought making the mito so tall that you'd get some dispersed light on your head and scalp?
Yeah and so if you got another one you could have a wider coverage area but still get a lot of 'vertical' body coverage. Personally though I think the wider panels are better (BioMax 900 for instance) as you really do need 2x 1 foot wide panels to get full shoulder to shoulder coverage

Hey Dino,
Thanks for the feedback - I do appreciate it.
A few things to note though:
1) I earn a commission off both biomax sales and Mitored sales. And the commission rate is the same, so there is no financial incentive for me to promote one over the other. Not that I would do that anyway - I aim to play the long term game and build a solid reputation etc.
2) I don't review customer service as I can't. It's impossible for me to do it fairly. I explain it all here - th-cam.com/video/KOKTRA_9uLM/w-d-xo.html
3) You want facts not preferences - I touch on this above, but as a reviewer, I want to share both.
Mitopro is crap, they claim 5w per diode but they are only 3w single chip diodes,
MiitoPRO isn't crap at all. Their light is actually better than the BIOMAX 600. The intensity of received energy of Red + NIR is very strong. You won't be disappointed..
TBH the wattage of the diode doesn't seem to matter. i just look at the irradiance output and the MitoPro is one of the top performers on that front.
