    Now that is what you call an adventure bike, serious piece of kit.
    I especially like the way they mounted the tank, that top subframe is a great idea.

    Some really good design features like the front mounted fuel cap for the rear tank. I have found the rear filler such a problem with luggage on my KTM690, have to unpack the bike to fill up. The easy access air filter is great too. Really well thought out bike. Anybody know the power output?

    • @StepstoPodium
      @StepstoPodium  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree! and the PR7 is made to have luggage. so that was taken into consideration right at the development phase. if I'm not mistaken it has around 60/65 hp

    Mark my words, AJP is my next purchase. It will be a SPR 510R EN...no one will give ANY info on it, but it looks like a good piece of kit! Do you know the HP or KW rating of the bike??? Weight?? Wondering because stuck between the 2021 AJP 510, 2021 Yamaha WR450F, or the 2021 Honda CRF450RX...they are ALL fantastic engineering marvels! It would be so cool to have the AJP next to my TM Racing EN300ES (carb version - gonna install a smart carb II very soon)...to have TWO hand built Euro bikes would be sweet! Also, I hate to bombard you with questions, but what's the price for SPR 510R EN in Portugal/Europe??? There are limited pics, videos, and info on this machine but the one 58 sec video I seen of it was amazing - no one is building the chassis like that...looks very "state-of-the-art" in terms of technology! And I heard they were able to increase engine power from the SWM platform, which hopefully puts it back to 59HP at the crank!!?? Thanks for your time, once again! Would love to have you as a visitor in Washington state by Canadian border in a year or so! You ever been through the Cascade Mountain Range? Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker are the the tallest mountains near me at 2 hrs away each in opposite directions of each other...I think you would find the area beautiful! Have a good day, brother! 🤘💪😎

    • @StepstoPodium
      @StepstoPodium  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Jonathon! I really appreciate the comment and the questions! I'll try to answer them all 😂
      I was actually the R&D engineered at AJP when they developed the 510 and 310! My Master's thesis was the development of the structural fuel tank and I resumed my work there until the development of the bikes was done.
      I can tell you right away that the 510 and 310 have nothing in common with the older models, they are new from the ground up, with the same frame philosophy as the PR7, and it is great!
      From what I recall, I think the 510 produces around 55 to 60 WHP (if I recall right). There was made a huge effort to have the bike under 120 kgs wet, so you can expect something around those figures. Pricing and all other info, I don't have/I don't remember, so might as well wait for an update, but from what I know, they are just waiting for some parts to arrive at the factory to start building them! This covid deal messed up a lot of things in the process...
      In terms of performance, the bike handles freaking great! I loved all the times I tested it during the CDI mapping and tuning. I bet there were some improvements from when I left but there are some fantastic features about the bike that we really worked hard into development. The air filter case is one of them!
      I'm trying to find the best opportunity to get my hands on a production bike to make a review. Let's see what happens!
      About your invite, I would love to!! I don't know how my life is going to be in the next year, but if I visit around your area, I'll definitely let you know!
      Have a good one :)

    • @jonathondavis170
      @jonathondavis170 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StepstoPodium That is awesome, bro! Sounds like someone else is in the market for the SPR 510R EN! Lol But who wouldn't want to own a moto masterpiece that they had a hand in engineering and fabricating it - and there is so much more that goes into it! Euro bikes are designed to be a running piece of art, so there is alot of craftsmanship that goes into the process of building an offroad racing machine! You certainly have something special to share with your kids later - and then you can share the actual bike with them as well! How cool?? 💪🤘😎
      I will be an owner of an SPR 510R also! 👌 My shop gets them in January as they are an AJP dealership as well. They sell AJP, TM Racing, Beta, Sherco, GPX Moto, and SWM! All are fantastic bikes! Cheers.

    Nice video, great to see it come together like that.
    Surprised they didn’t grease the swing arm bolt or any of the shock mounting bolts. Is there a reason why they don’t do this from the factory? Both my Honda’s were the same.

      @StepstoPodium  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you don't have to specifically grease it like that. the workshop where I leave my bike, they grease it with something like WD-40, so it's not that they don't grease it but it's not quite perceivable on the video maybe (I have to admit I did not realise that in fact)

    • @crpth1
      @crpth1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A tiny bit of tech background. Most modern bushings are not supposed to be lubed in the traditional sense. ;-)
      It might come as a surprise but it´s in fact quite logical. Reduce maintenance and most important reduce degradation.
      Grease and dirt/debris make for a perfect mix of "grinding past". ;-)
      These are modern bikes by design and engineering, so it´s no wonder that "absence".
      BTW this tendency happens all over the mechanical industry, not just bikes.
      Cheers

    Husqvarna tem bons motores, apesar desse modelo já não ser actual, a montagem da moto parece ser muito sólida, pena é custar mais de 10 mil euros, nessa categoria encontra-se a KTM 690 e Husqvarna 701 enduro, o que é que o pessoal com 10 mil euros na mão vai comprar!...

      @StepstoPodium  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Este modelo é tão actual como qualquer outro, é um motor que ainda está em produção e vai sofrendo alterações, como qualquer outro. A grande questão é que 10 mil euros é o preço de uma mota de enduro qualquer, 250 cc, japonoca ou europeia, mas neste caso ficas com uma mota que é capaz de fazer trail como deve ser! Not only you need to re-do all bolts with loctite. You also have to TORQUE them to the spec (if there is any spec of tightening those bolts). You also have to repack steering head bearing. This light touch with brush and what seems to be silicone greese will not penetrate bearing enough. The bolts from linkage also seems to be dead dry. No signs of greese inside when he push bolt thru. Good looking , poor quality assembled.

      Funny....i have been riding bikes for 53 years now, rr racing, touring, adventure, offroad, enduro......never used any loctite, never lost any bolt or nut, and for 50 years i havent used any torque wrench....never destroyed anything, never lost a bolt or nut

    Pq caralho tava eu á espera que metesses um story sobre o video e tu nada? 😂😂😂 btw otimo video. A ajp não é lá a minha marca favorita, ja andei em motas deles e pelo menos a mim deixaram a desejar... mas talvez fosse aquela específica que teria algum defeito... de resto sempre quis experimentar a pr5😀😀😀
    A unica cena que me fode um pouco a cabeça é os motores serem chineses...

    • @StepstoPodium

      esclareço te já, os motores não são chineses. Os motores são na realidade fabricados em Itália. São basicamente motores da Husqvarna. Por isso que não seja pelos motores :p

    Great bike , pity that AJP offers very bad after sale service . A company with a great product but no after sales service will not last 4 bikes in South Africa supplied by ajp direct to the customer here and all4 of those bikes are faulty and AJP will not fix them even after they shipped them. They now tell these customers the were grey imported direct from their factory , packed and shipped by them . Bad bad service , would never want one because of said service from the manufacturer.

    Anyone who's seen ajp know how this bike look like. And all electronic plugs have Chinese quality,worst than even ktm.
    Anyone tryed to order any spare parts? This is mission impossible 12.
