    With tip number 2, be careful blocking the water hoses from the inside, in case that said block loosens and may potentially end up in engine - no bueno 😉

    I found your humble, honest appraisal of your mechanical abilities to be refreshing. Question, why couldn’t you use tape to seal the filter to the box?

      Hehe, miles ahead of where I was when I started out a few years ago, but still no mechanic!
      Good question, never thought of that. Perhaps it's because grease is whats been used to seal air filters for a long time. Not sure how well tape would stick to the already sticky/oily airbox from the air filter spray either.

    I was advised by Heather Sinclair that the Australians use a Funnel Webb pre filter. Specifically designed for their local bull dust. She rode a PR7 across the USA.

    Thanks for the great video, loved it. Just one question that isn't really related to your bike but is my mind clogged or didn't you say bye to youtube a couple of months(?) ago? Whatever the answer is, welcome back and love to see your videos.

    Have an amazing but safe trip Johannes (and there's nothing wrong that I can see with your upholstery skill set...) 🙂

    See you Sunday mate 🥳 I’m NOT as well prepared, I may or may not have time to do the most basic preparations but hey, it’s a T7, should be fine 😅 Can’t wait for our next adventure

    Dust you say? Better to be safe than sorry? Best you do some extended testing in Australia. Nobody does dust like outback Australia. I can promise you that!

    Aren’t those water exit hoses / tubes? Just in case water finds its way into the air box, it has a way to drain out?

    • @JohannesDalenMC
      @JohannesDalenMC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes they are, but they are sealed at the bottom by a rubber plug, so if enough water got in (just a couple of drops really) it would still continue down the airbox.

    Hey Johannes, how are you doing? And how’s the AJP doing? Like it better than the 701? Was wondering, have you still got a larger adventure twin or is all that’s gone? Cheers.

      Hello there friend, thanks for asking! I'm doing great, got home from a two week trip in the Balkans two days ago. Releasing the video later today and the PR7 will be slightly reviewed throughout the video.
      I will make a separate video with a full PR7 review later this year and also compare it to the 701.
      If you're talking about that "mystery bike" I've been eluding to, yes it's gone. Was a 1050 v strom. Great bike, but quickly realized it wasn't my thing. Got a good deal on one so couldn't help myself 😅

      @@JohannesDalenMC looking forward to the video. So the AJP is your only bike at the moment? Why wasn’t the vstrom right? I too am left with only one, a 701, and it feels quite weird (not sure why I did it 🤔). I’ll be adding an enduro very soon I expect.

    • @JohannesDalenMC
      @JohannesDalenMC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is. the vstrom was simply too big, too powerful (haha) and expensive to insure. Up to around 100km/h the PR7 is almost as comfy, so the bigger bike didn't make that much sense. I too will be getting a enduro bike as soon as we have a track locally. Offroad riding is what's fun and I don't need a street worthy bike now that my friend has a Sprinter van that we use. I have an old harley sportster in the garage that I take out on those nice sundays where I just want to feel the breeze in my face!

      @@JohannesDalenMC I’m sure you noticed llev of brake magazine thinks very highly of the v-strom (the 800 tho), I don’t feel attracted to it.

    Never seen a air box connection with just a O ring and no clamp of some sort.

    • @JohannesDalenMC
      @JohannesDalenMC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Neither have I. The connection between the airbox and throttle body was pretty "positive". Airbox needs some force applied to get that opening around the throttle body's opening, so they kinda push against each other, which is good. Not enough space to add a clamp I think.

    can't you zip-ty those clear hoses? then they will still collect water.

    cotton guaze filters are only good for stopping gravel and birds. not an adequate filter.
