    I like the way you used the words to add structure. I also really like the effect of using the fine tip applicator and using charcoal and paint to define the shapes. I got a lot of ideas from watching this, Chris. Thanks

    Interesting comments Chris. I wonder if the significance, to the viewer, will depend on that person’s primary learning mode. I’m very much a visual learner, so the words are secondary to me… although the shape, size and contrast of the words undeniably have a visual impact. The words do definitely trigger curiosity though, as the viewer can see that the short phrase starts to mean something, so you want to know the next ‘bit’. I like the ideas that you come up with for your videos… keep up the inspiring work, it’s much appreciated. Mick.

      Thanks so much, Mick! That's such a fascinating thought-how different learning styles might shape our perception and experience of art. Honestly, that's never crossed my mind before. I'm a visual learner as well. I love that the words trigger your curiosity-your feedback is truly appreciated.

    It sometimes seems like everybody is adding random words or letters to their art, but almost no one talks about why. So I really appreciate what you've articulated here. For some reason what you did reminded me of refrigerator poetry (but better because of the images) & it did take me on a little internal journey!

      I'm so glad you got something out of this! 😊 Funny, when I was cutting out the words from newspapers I was thinking "this is like playing with fridge poetry". I had quite a few laughs doing this.

    I usually like words more hidden in the art but I love the way this piece turned out. The words make a strong impact outside the art. I am thinking about making an art piece like this one to get out some of my anger, disappoint and fear related to recent events.

    This was soooo good. I have been avoiding using words in my mixed media because there is quite a lot of banal word use out there. I am rethinking now. i love this piece. Thank you for your videos and sharing your art experience.

    Thanks, Chris. Just discovered you today. This is a great piece with its palette, line work, and words.
    I use ‘found words’ in my art- both hidden and visible. Typically, fewer than five words, often just one - to minimize my influence on the viewer’s interpretation.

    Always cutting out from magazines... for collage... each edition gives a color scheme that brings fresh updated content. Saving all the words that give new ideas and inspirational thoughts... all this introduces creative ideas. Ann, Florida fan

    This was a great help. Can you talk a little more about the tube with the black paint? Where did you get it? What is it called? What is the consistency of the paint in there? Thanks!

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm so glad to hear this, Sue! I was using a fine tip applicator bottle. You can get these at most craft stores or on Amazon - amzn.to/3S8C39I
      Here is a short video I posted about filling it and the consistency I like to use. Some people fill them with high flow acrylics, but I usually find the consistency a little too thin for my liking. th-cam.com/video/u6WCxIRD0Nc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=szxan-UjvaBP2K4w

    I didn’t expect to like this one…but I did. So my question is did you pencil mark your shapes for the words to fit it so well or you free handed them and they worked out perfectly?

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, Sherri! That would have made things much easier. No, I just free handed the shapes and then went through some trial and error with different sizes of words/phrases that I was cutting out.
