Very cool! Yeah it’s tough to know when to stop. I almost think it’s worth taking pictures throughout the process could lead to some interesting prints.
Thanks, Marshall! That's an excellent idea-taking pictures along the way for possible prints. P.S. I watched your video "How to Make Your First Comic Book (An Easy Way to Start)" and you've got me excited to try my hand at it. Thanks!
Really love the warmth of the oranges and yellows. It glows! Love the figure that showed up. So much to see and explore in it and so many stories to tell!
I love how the red-orange warmed and balanced the cooler greens. I also love how lots of the underpainting shows interesting textures. Thanks for sharing yourself in full view and showing how you really get into it while you work. Great piece Chris!
Thanks so much, Ann! I'm happy you noticed the warm and cool color harmony and the textured underlayers. Sharing my creative process is always fun, and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece!
Hi Chris, I haven't seen your work in a long time, great to see you in action again! I love how you talk through your thought process and why you make your decisions. I quite liked the thumb, kind of reminded me of rock people, sad and contemplative, funny what we see, everyone's perspective is so different! I'm feeling fairly stuck at the mo so I'll definitely have a look at those prompts. Keep up the great work!
Hey Jackie! It’s awesome to hear from you and glad you’re enjoyed this one. I love the thought of rock people. Hope the prompts help you break through that creative block. Thanks for the kind words!
Wow... big scale and the artist really takes a good look at the process. Some of my own abstracts just go backwards and forwards for weeks... I absolutely loved the version at 4 minutes. The chaos. The graffiti. It's so much a matter of mood. You reorganised it with a really beautiful palette, Chris.😊😊😊
Thanks much, Emmanuel! The 4 minute mark is exactly what I'm going to go for next time. I'm a big fan of graffiti art and that just whet my appetite to play with that style even more. Plus, it was just plain fun!
I enjoy the evolution of this piece but especially like where it was at around 13:45 or so, with the more realistic thumb and finger but also the hints of earlier markings here and there. Very inspiring, thank you, Chris!
Loved watching the transformation. About choked on my wine when your son said ‘kinda creepy’ when he first noticed the finger. Me too. Hehehe. I’m debating whether or not to make the images found in my abstracts more realistic once they emerge or allow the viewer to draw their own conclusion or emotion. I actually liked the outcome in your painting , definitely surreal. Thank you for your content So fun to watch!
Thank you so much, AnnaMarie-I had a good laugh too when he called it creepy! Deciding whether to make hidden images more realistic or leave them ambiguous can really change the whole vibe, so exploring both are good options.
I loved this video! Early on in the video I found the finger and thumb. Then further on I thought it looked like someone/thing crouching with its head in its hand, and the verticle objects were like legs or something, it was fun watching it emerge. The painting has a glow to it which probably the vermilion bouncing off the green its really very lovely and lively. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers!
@chrisloudart maybe I could change my name to Wassily by depol 🫤 maybe then I could ask more for my paintings, they have ghost writers, right, that could be my ghost painter name, 😆. I did enjoy the video and the painting was lovely, I was very drawn to it, definitely had an emotional attachment to it. Cheers!
Truly love your work and it's helping me open up with my vision! My thing its that I need to play more and not have a fear of what if I mess it up, so I need to break out from that habit! been enjoying your work..
@@chrisloudart - thank you Chris!! Im about to watch more of your videos! I just like the way you speak and teach your medium. Im an assemblage, mixed media and collage artist. But for the longest Ive been wanted to get more into abstract collage and mix it with collages and just play with ideas. My head is about to explode with so much stuff I want to try out, lol. My assemblages over powers my work load, but this year I said, that I need to find time to play and create new things. thank you once again, Laz
I like the last orientation best--the red & white bit in the crevice of those boulders evokes the Wicked Witch of the West's striped stocking protruding from the house that landed on her, but placed in a landscape more other-worldly than Oz. I'd title it "Crushed." Are you by any chance trying to vanquish an evil, right a wrong?
That's an amazing interpretation and title! I love the connection of the red and white to the Wicked Witch's stocking-it adds such a vivid story to the piece. Haha, I'm not sure I'm trying to vanquish evil, but if that happens along the way, I'll take it. Thank you!
I enjoyed you working at your easel for a different vibe and on a large canvas. I’m not distracted by your artwork in the background but I glanced at it and appreciated it then went back to watching you. Fascinating how the painting began and where you brought it at the end. I think I prefer the early version but you had a good paint day!
Thanks so much, Sherri! I'm glad you enjoyed the different vibe of this video. It's great to hear the background artwork wasn't too cluttered and distracting. Every paint day has its own story, and I'm glad you enjoyed watching this one unfold! I think I like the early version better as well.

Like background stuff. Every stage of this is like watching a movie. Interesting storytelling😂. Ann,
Haha, thanks Ann! Glad you found the story interesting!
Love it
Thank you, Alexandra!😊
The most important thing in art; knowing when to stop.
Striking that balance makes all the difference.
Truly love your work and it's helping me open up with my vision! My thing its that I need to play more and not have a fear of what if I mess it up, so I need to break out from that habit! been enjoying your work..
Thanks so much, Lazaro! It's so freeing to let go of the need to create a perfect result. It's not always easy to do, but worth it.

Thanks, Laz! Having your head bursting with creative ideas is the best problem to have!
i love the over-paint, but this is more your style..thanks for showing 👍
Thank you! That's quite true 😊
