I'm currently working on a construction site that had a crane fatality 2 months ago. WorkSafeBC responded with a Critical Incident response team. They have been instrumental to the well being of those who survived the accident and the site in general. As a CSO I value the resources and assistance that WorkSafe provides. Thank you.
Really good vid! The key is never to let anyone pressure you into going through all the steps in a hurried manner. Your safety is paramount and if an employer is pressuring you it might not be the right employer for you! Very well done!
That's the thing about consequences. Even when we think about them we only thing about the initial thing that can go wrong but not the cascade effect that comes after. Making an impression is art and this worked pretty well.
there's always a right way and a wrong way to do things. a few years ago a friend diluted automotive paint with thinners and used an electric mixer to stir it, when i asked if he was an idiot he replied he'd done it a hundred time before with no problem, that day was 40 deg C temps and he wore shorts and thongs. he now has skin grafts on both legs from top to feet to above the knee. to this day he still claims he did nothing wrong, but at least he now wears PPE, so he learned something.
The horrific truth is that it is supposedly professional workers whom are seriously injuring and killing themselves everyday due to their complacency and recklessly negligent judgement! One only need review these case studies to see supposedly professional workers in every sector of commercial, industrial, manufacturing, transport and others to understand what happens, and in virtually every case, it was avoidable! The time to consider one's health is not after you've thrown it all away by being stupid, negligent or both...
