Clickers use echolocation to see. That why Ellie said “like bats?” And Tess said yes. So when you stand in front of them and they use their echolocation they will see you.

1:14:30 that's not Bridget working against the auto aim. That is Bridget using the punch button while aiming. By default, the punch button is used to swap shoulders when you're aiming. That's what the "punch while aiming" setting is for. By turning that on, the game will make punching when you're aiming take priority over swapping your shoulder or something. But yeah. That's not the auto aim freaking out. That's Bridget trying to punch while aiming. In that situation, put the gun down and THEN punch.
Last of Us is a game that is best played off stream so you don't miss all the little things, just my opinion, a lot of others agree. The sounds and music is the same composer as the series, so they are the same.
How Clickers Work 101: They are BLIND. However, much like bats... they use ECHOLOCATION. They sometimes stand a little still, hunch down a little and make a screeching noise. This is them emitting a cone of sound. If you are in this cone... they will "see" you cuz essentially the noise they send out is bounching offa you, and going back to them. So they see you. And then they will run towards you. THIS is the reason you kept getting "seen" in that subway level. Clickers are fucking TOUGH. With a revolver, they will take 4 body shots to die. With a pistol, more than 4. It will only take two headshots with each to kill them, tho. You cannot punch them and NEED a melee weapon to kill them. Try stunning them with a brick or a bottle, running up to them, and smacking them with the melee weapon. This kills them quickly. Molotovs are VERY effective against them. Use a brick or bottle to lure a bunch of em to an area, then lob one. If you throw it will, it should slowly kill most of em. Sometimes, it will just damage them a little. In this weakened state, they will die with fewer bullets. If they grab you, it's an instant kill. This can be remedied with the shiv master skill. DO NOT GET THIS SKILL. It is a waste of blades, bindings, shivs, and pills. It will burn through your precious shivs. Save them for stealth killing clickers and more importantly... for opening shiv doors. If you die to a clicker... simply try again. Lastly, and the game doesn't tell you this... with a BRICK equipped, simply mash the melee button thrice, quickly. And this will kill a clicker for free.
the bad thing about auto pick-up is that the player stops thinking about the loot they are gathering. the character picks stuff up so fast that the player prob won't register what is being picked up, and then that will negatively affect one's awareness about resource management, plans for crafting stuff etc I briefly tried auto pick-up in my grounded run for tlou2 and i turned it off very quickly cuz the game was just too fast with the pick-ups and I started to lose track of the stuff I had etc
Yeah, Ellie in the game doesn't start off as abrasive as she does in the show. It's for one simple, sad reason... Most gamers (usually guys), when they see a character (especially female) have just a lil bit of an attitude... They'll start calling them a b*tch etc. I've literally seen people call Tess a b*tch just cuz she asked Joel's character to close a door. I've seen people call Ellie a b*tch despite her being a lil child and having a fairly normal personality. And when the point of the game is an escort mission, the devs need to make you care about having to protect the character, until the game gets going and the player begins to care about the relationship. So Ellie is a lil bit more meek in the game, comparatively. With TV, they don't have to care about getting you to immediately invest in a character cuz you're not personally doing an escort mission. So the character can be a little more true to themselves, a little bit more abrasive. And then as time goes on, people get attached. So now they can have Joel and Ellie be at more of an odds with each other at the beginning, making them getting along by the end feel stronger. Still, I've seen grown-ass people call Ellie (a 14 year old child who's never been out in the world) a b*tch for, understandably, having a lil bit of an attitude (in the show AND in the game). Still, Ellie is the same at her core in both the game and the show. Just some differences in the writing structure & portrayal (which is GOOD. I wanted Ramsey to bring her own sensibilities rather than copying Johnson's performance from the game. And she did that in spades). But ultimately... Both iterations have the essence of what makes Ellie Ellie.
Literally, it annoys me so much how ppl are always so quick to call female characters offensive names over the littlest things. Yet when the male characters do the same or something worse the reaction is never as negative 😅
i haven't played the game yet but i agree with people saying they shouldn't have gone live while playing they missed parts of the story , reading the chat distracts you from the game!
A note about bricks & bottles They both share some functionality. They can both be thrown around in the environment to distract or lure enemies. They can both be thrown at enemies to stun 'em (at which point you can rush the enemies and melee them to death, or use the opportunity to shoot em, or simply run away). With a brick/bottle equipped, you can press the melee button when you're close to an enemy and Joel will hit em over the head with it. NOW! While the bottle will break with one such hit (cuz it's glass), the brick is sturdier. Therefore: With a brick equipped, mash the melee button thrice, quickly and Joel will BEAT enemies (humans, runners, stalkers, and CLICKERS)to DEATH with it. So a brick is a potentially free kill. No wasted ammo or resources!! Just a free brick that are often lying around. PS: arc-throwing (L2 + R2) definitely has its uses, but it is slower. In combat, using the quickthrow (R2, with the bottle/brick equipped) is faster and more accurate. When you have either equipped, a segmented circle reticle should show up. When you are fairly close to enemies, this should turn into a full circle and lock on to an enemy. This means that just tapping R2 will automatically, quickly throw the brick/bottle at the enemy. It is VERY useful.
It's a crime to play this game on live stream. At least disable the annoying sounds. Like at 2:58:40 you weren't even paying attention to Ellie telling how she got bit. I know you watched the show, but the fun part of playing the game after is to see all the differences and similarities of game vs show, but you don't seem to care that much... at 3:14:00 I was hoping you'd recognize that scene but not even a mention of it (you were more focused on the chat). Anyway, I tried watching but it's not for me. Just some feedback, for what it's worth.
Honestly, Bridget's aim was fine without the auto aim. I'd recommend turning that off. Cuz quite honestly, the auto aim kinda lock you in on the centre mass of the enemy. And that isn't the most efficient way to kill in the game. You then kinda have to flick the stick up to aim for the head. Better to just practice and get good with the regular aim (which Bridget is already pretty solid at. That was a good number of headshots). But ofc, that's up to you Also: Shiv Master is a scam and a waste of time. It'll just waste your shivs. Save them for clickers instead, and more importantly... for opening shiv supply doors. Those pills are better spent on other skills. Also, don't worry too much about being low on ammo. You're on normal and supplies are fairly plentiful on this level. True resource scarcity doesn't begin to kick in until the player is on HARD.
Really enjoyed the playthrough! This is one of, if not my most, favorite games. I'll try to catch the live next time. I will say though, try to not bring events/additions from the show to the playthrough. The show is an adaption of the game and so doesn't necessarily reflect the events of the game.
Not sure if anyone already commented, but absolutely 100% YASSS put the Dead Island franchise on your future gaming list!!!! Trying not to spoil, but DI came out in 2011 during the "Zombies are Hot Right Now" movement in the early 2010s. It was fun and peeps LOVED it. They approved a sequel almost immediately due to the game's success and they released Dead Island: Riptide DLC shortly after the first game. Now, fast forward to *literally* two months ago out of nowhere (and a decade late) Dead Island 2 is released after being stuck in development purgatory. Now, the storyline isn't as enriching as TLOU, but if you're down to just run around town obliterating the undead with super cool customizable weapons then this game is up your alley!!! Not sure if it has regular co-op or if it's just online co-op, but there's potential for you guys to play together. Anywhere, loving your playthrough. I did NOT make it through this game. I am the worst at being sneaky lol
You should play Red Dead Redemption 2 next. Amazing game and I think you would both love it. Not a scare game but plenty gunfights western style. Just 100% the storymode myself the other night. @@fabian5813 i understand where your coming from completely but i just felt watching the show first took away from the experience of the game which is already far better imo and a lot more intimate. Playing the previously to me made watching the show better for me since it gave me more of an appreciation for the last of us story than if i went in blind. Sure the big moments would be surprising watching in the show, but while playing the game you develop a deeper connection with the characters than the show allows and id much rather be shocked by moments in the game than in the show.
You are literally watching a live stream, just after the fact. I agree it ruins the experience, but if they want to play while interacting with their fans, it is what it is.

Person in the section showing off and saying use auto aim sounds like they don’t know how to use it properly, I haven’t watched much of last of us part 1 but I watched and played last of us remastered hundreds of times. I can tell, the auto aim looks like only for mid range or long.
You Can Tell She’s Playing On A Keyboard By How Blotchy And Stiff The Movements Look, Everytime She Looks In Another Direction, There’s Always A Slight Pause Before She Looks In Another Direction. Person in the section showing off and saying use auto aim sounds like they don’t know how to use it properly, I haven’t watched much of last of us part 1 but I watched and played last of us remastered hundreds of times. I can tell, the auto aim looks like only for mid range or long.

If i understand it right, they are playing on normal difficulty. If so there are plenty of ammo.

You Can Tell She’s Playing On A Keyboard By How Blotchy And Stiff The Movements Look, Everytime She Looks In Another Direction, There’s Always A Slight Pause Before She Looks In Another Direction. Such A Shame You Guys Couldn’t Play This On A PS5, It Would Have Been So Much More Fluid, Gameplay Would Have Been Smoother Than A Baby’s Butt
