@@PassTheSnails the reason i am calling it melee 2.0 is't just because of the mechanics, its mostly because of all the tech and glitches that are present in the game that more people are discovering.
Maybe the glitch isn’t working on Wolf because he wasn’t fully in the free fall state? With Ice Climbers, the length of the ending animation combined with the upward momentum means they’re fully in the free fall animation by the time they reach the ground. For Wolf, the transition from side special to free fall animation takes longer, and he reaches the ground before you really see the helpless falling animation. The theory I’m running with here is that the game doesn’t see Wolf in special fall when he hits the ground, so it doesn’t have the same effect.
I figured it out and you were on the right track. Icies and Wolf also have to have their full Neutral Air Dodge animation finish first, along with finishing the Side-B animations into the Free Fall state. The former's finishes before you act out of it (Nana's might get interrupted on the first step, which may explain why she lands with lag), while Wolf's can be interpreted and he get less air time, so you need more height. (maybe as form of RCO Lag) In terms of practicality, I can see this as a nifty trick for Icies to throw people off, but for Wolf, it's a niche recovery mix-up due to the amount of set up to store the Neutral Air Dodge's landing lag.
The times Nana was still getting the end lag is because puppets can have their shield and attack inputs interrupted by special inputs, so her air dodge wasn't quite done, and thus the glitch didn't activate for her.
There’s no use for that other than maybe baits, it’s better to just cover your landing with desynced blizzard than waste your airdodge. Plus you can reduce the lag by landing from specific heights anyway.
it's really cool of you guys to give these lesser known platforms fighters a spotlight. With rivals 2 dominating the PFGC it's nice to see something new and underground.
10:19 It always makes me happy when I see more people do this. It’s an underrated taunt (or in my case, something fun to do while I wait for my opponent to respawn) that’s fun to do.
Hey yall should test every new and old modded character's weight by going to the mushroom kingdom stage with the platforms in the middle and compare their weight to character like bowser pichu and mii brawler to see if they are above average weight, below average weight, or I the middle
12:02 "Very funny guys with no team attack"
*Wario proceeds to get hit by his teammates up special*
12:02 wario literally gets hit by k rool up b at the end tho...
the fact that people are still finding things out in ultimate is crazy.
I mean even to this day people find new tricks in SF3 third strike so hey ultimate can be part of this phenomena
Ultimate is melee 2.0
@@justiceiria869 people will laugh at this but ultimate really is the closest game to melee out of any other smash game

There is still a lot of things to find out

According to SSB Wiki, there's a handful of other characters with this glitch.
last clip, actually pretty clutch, they went that deep knowing krool could save them both
Last clip: team attack was on 😉
Still...eh
If aegis had teched it, the clip might have been wholly different
-Sakurai, is this a feature or a bug?
-Yes.

The Wolf one was patched in an update
No, it's still there.
He just needs to finish his full Air Dodge and Side-B animations for it to work.
After multiple years of smash ultimate, I’ve never seen Luigi’s up throw until now
4:33 love for Lucas!
It was no surprise to me to see Middy's name in the top left of that first Pac-Man clip. They are actually insane with Pac.

The fact that they show cased this wolf is funny since my boy had the same air dodge lag removal with wolf flash in the early days of Ultimate
nvm you guys covered the wolf thing - but the wolf flash thing was patched out
4:10 that's what she said
the kanji in the mewtwo stage reads "depression"
Omg i love it when ICs are the thumbnail ❤❤❤
that was a good bit
I vaguely remember the wolf one being patched
Thank you for keeping final clips

wolf USED to have it in 1.0 i think but not anymore. WhyDo covered it a while ago
Luigi up throw is 🔥
11:33 Cool Mods!
Awesome Smash video!
Haven’t we seen the pellet cancels in a previous episode?
That Mewtwo stage might have been for cFive (or people like him). That symbol in the background means depression.

LETS GOOOO BUBBS LUCAS MONTAGE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Literally Flowchart Ken in Smash.
When is the next Rivals Review?
11:20 鬱 is a Chinese character with the meaning of depression
8:14 SLICK
My favorite clips are ones where Steve gets destroyed because he's Steve
Oh dang... this could be big... or not. LOL
they patched it out on wolf yeah
Wolf had this patched out because it was positive
This game really finished in an unfinished state
I'm gonna subscribe
