I really enjoyed this video. Your "nice and moist" part at 7:39 made me laugh out loud! Your viewer comment section was hilarious as well. My wife orders chicken feet every time but I don't eat them for the same reasons as you.
Thanks for Part 2. It was just as interesting as Part 1. I bought some takeaway dim sum items in Chinatown L.A. on Friday. The har gow dough was stiff and cold, but the shu mai was tasty. The egg tart and sesame ball were the best items that I purchased. I went to the dim sum shop at 2:30PM. Earlier is always better. Since I don't speak Chinese, I try to order the items that I know, in the dim sum restaurant. I ate the soy wrapped item once before. Now I know what they use the soy bean wrapper for. I usually cook the soy bean stick.
Dim sum is traditionally served early morning in southern China. In our place, 9:30 am till mid afternoon. Mostly Cantonese restaurants offer dimsum and some even during dinner (from the menu).
6:02 you took me down to memory lane, I remember when i was a kid watching the chinese kung fu movies and when the commercials come on it will always have a lee kum kee commercial and i would always say along with it
I actually like my Har How and Siu Mai dipped in the rice roll ( cherng fun) sweet soy. The Siu Mai definitely looks better today. I wonder if the sourness from the cherng fun has to do with the filling going bad? The prices are much cheaper than in Boston. I'm shocked 😱
You had me laughing about chewing on meat bones. I do this (my Mom too) love to chew on bulgogi rib short rib bones. I am interested in trying chicken feet but not sure if I would like it because I do not like octopus. I wish I did but it is like chewing on a Michelin tire.
Awe, come on Danny, Squab head is one of the best tasting delicacies in our culture, LOL!!! Fyi, it's actually one of my favorites too, your aunt knows what's good!!!
Glad the dim sum is much fresher between 10AM and 11AM in the morning. Good thing you gave them another chance. Funny comments about chicken feet. I don't eat it either.
10:05 - haha omg, so, now that i live further up in northern va, getting closer to DC, there are a lot of asian stores and restaurants and that is where i saw raw chicken feet for the first time. and yes, they look like a very old person’s hand and it has fingernails. its freaky, i agree. lol
Hahahaha, the world saw you pocket the soy sauce! My momma always took sweet n low packets and whatever else could sneak out. She took the mustard and catsup single bottles from room service at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco...she was raised during the Depression and felt it was paid for in the meal.
I really enjoy all your honest opinion. I am like you, I put the food in my mouth and it will take awhile for me to decide if I like it ot not? You always give a straightforward and honest opinion not like other TH-camrs. After a few minutes, I let the food savor in my mouth. I will then give you my opinion if I like it or not?
🎶 Lee Kum Kee 🎶 Yes, I think the ‘mild shrimp taste would be from less fresh quality shrimp 🤔.... ‘Phoenix Claw’ 😂 We love them (yes, quality of preparation matters alot) . My Papa’s favorite was Chicken Butt, she loved the fatness of it. I always thought the head was just for decoration, ... u eat it 😯? ... 😮 Not the good Sauce! I love THAT sauce, its special to that dish but i use it for all the other dishes teehee ... Wow, look at the FÛN .... I didn’t see nothin’ 😎 😂 ... 👍 StÆMY 🌬 🔥 Early Bird 🕊Good Morning 😁 Thank You 🙏 for Dim Sum 😊
I grew up on LKK oyster sauce. Definitely was all in on the har gow wrappers until I learned to appreciate the shrimp inside as well. Used to always get the chicken feet for dim sum. Nowadays I don't bother ordering them. I don't dislike them, but I've grown indifferent. Sauces, I like having sriracha and chili oil. And the seasoned soy sauce they use for the cheng fun. Speaking of cheng fun, I don't think the cart lady cares one bit about spilling the soy sauce. And I gotta say... I expected more of a markup since the restaurant is at a hotel/casino. Still a little pricey, but not as bad as I'd feared.
Nice. Just wondering is it mesn does seem like the interaction in authentic Chinese places is so straightforward and to the point. It slmost comes across as if you are being kurt, even though I know you're not. Great vlog.
I usually do straight to the point. It depends on how society is around you, in places where there is nothing going on, you can dance around your point all you want, what else ppl gotta do? but in a real situation, where things matter and time is precious, to the point is the best... no wasting anyones time.
I never knew LKK was a big brand other than Oyster sauce. Hmmm...I've never seen their soy sauce packaged. Seems like it took a lot longer to get all the dishes you wanted this second time. I guess I'll be skipping the shrimp wrapped in rice noodles at this place. Thanks for confirming.
Is great you give place a second chance and you were right about the length of time the food was not as fresh. Giving restaurant a second review can become expensive. Please don’t go back to see if waitress or waiter no spill sauce again on table.
Hi Danny. I find your vlog very interesting. I think you’re funny too, & I watch your video all the time. I loved dim sum & in Vancouver, we have very good dim-sum here. I’m just thiking that they take the dimsum container right away because they don’t want to run out of it for steaming more dimsum. Good luck.
That was funny. People only ate things like chicken feet and pigeon head because they were poor. No idea why one would want to eat them if they are no longer poor unless it is just nostalgia.
I'm with you!!! I don't like Chicken feet😡 And yes, believe it or not my EX from El Salvador loved to eat chicken heads? Ohh heck to the no...never dud it in front of me, though!!!😫😫😫
You go to Walmart there's no such thing as chicken feet they are called chicken paws LOL love your channel my kids laugh that you drink tap water like me and they give me trouble tell me I'm drinking kidney water enjoy the channel keep making videos we'll keep watching
Over here in Aotearoa NZ, something called Prawn Toast is served up at Dim Sum restaurants and they are my favourite menu item. Just wondered if they are authentic Cantonese Dim Sum? Cheers Danny!
@@dannythemedic Jasmine tea is not tea lol. Bo lay is good but next time ask for goon yum(guan yi). It's an oolong and it's delicious. Sau mei is also delicious. My whole life we always ordered bo lay but in the last few years we discovered those 2 I mentioned and are our new regulars.
Regarding dim sum condiments: I am partial to the side-by-side dish of spicy mustard and red ketchup-like sauce that dim sum houses in my area offer. It's served automatically without asking. I'm not sure if this practice is widespread or perhaps old-fashioned, but with dim sum, I prefer it over soy sauce and chilli oil. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?
Yes! Here in Vancouver that's quite common. The red sauce is a mild hot sauce, not sweet like ketchup at all. I love smearing my har gow with the mustard sauce and then dipping it into soya sauce!

Your face when you were talking about your friend eating the chicken head had me literally laughing out loud.
I went there last week it was pretty good, staff were nice and courteous, price is reasonable
Dan, Have you tried Yum Cha Dim Sum in Las Vegas yet? I heard it's one of the best.
Thx for returning for Part2, Dim Sum 2 days in a row is a bit much for me.
Thank you Mr Danny. Glad you got to use your old favorite soy sauce and that you enjoyed the dim sum.

Hahaha, putting the extra soy sauce packets in your pocket is such an Asian move…I do the same!!😆😆👍👍

When I was young I also eat only the white part and my mom will say don’t waste food eat the shrimp too. Ha ha. My grandma eat the chicken head.

Man! The Rio used to have the absolute BEST, bar none, seafood buffet in Vegas.
That's the only oyster sauce on my steamed rice as a kid.😊
The chicken feet comment killed me! 😅 I was laughing sooooo hard! I might have been the author of this comment……I love the texture
May I suggest Ping Pang Pong across the street at Gold Cost.
PPP rocks!
I couldn’t stop laughing when you were describing eating the chicken feet. 😅

My fridge is currently full of LKK products! I can't cook without them.
KJ dim sum is definitely one of the places I've eaten at. You know it's good when there's a bunch of Asians there. Love the video!
That is so funny about the story of the chicken head. My grandmother used to like the neck. Ugh.
Hey Danny the Medic II!! Your commentary on Chicken Feet is hilarious!! LOL!!! I can't eat da feet for the same reasons!! :O)

Chicken feet comment! Priceless! Danny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!
Phalanges. That was Phoebe Buffay's nonsense word on friends
Hey Danny, I noticed you don’t dip your Hac gao or xe Mai in soy sauce with chili sauce when you tasting?
because adding things makes it more work to taste... eating normally is different, but u know..
Chicken heads only come in McDonald's nuggets. "No chicken feet for Danny the Medic"... The new single releasing SOON on Dim Sum Records...
That is a reasonably priced menu! Better than Tim Ho Wan!
Chicken feet, liver, pig brains…oh yes 😂

Thanks so much! Many chinese went to canada and took with them the good recipies!
@@dannythemedic we’re lucky here, we have lots of good Chinese restaurants. I’ll keep watching your videos. Cheers
I'd have to bring the can of Raid give it a shot of the spray before I eat it
raid???? what on earth??
Too funny about Tung. Razz him about eating fried chicken assholes on a stick with wild rice! Fish eyes for dessert!
That was funny. People only ate things like chicken feet and pigeon head because they were poor. No idea why one would want to eat them if they are no longer poor unless it is just nostalgia.
Auntie Diane said the squab head was the best part....
Har Gow is one of my favorite yum
My grandmother told me the adults at the table would eat the main parts of the chicken and they gave the kids the feet and head 😮

Steam basket stealing!!!😂😂😂 Possibly
I like squab breast, but I would never eat the head. Hey, hey, food and travel, guys. Food and travel.
Hey Danny the Medic! How come this restaurant doesn't appear to have chinese mustard (to mix with the soy sauce)?
i think they do if u ask... I vagly remember seeing it there
Like try it for the first time ❤❤

So he can ate raw fish but not cooked chicken feet . If feet like rubber band the feet is undercooked. Try again when feet cook right.
no thanks
Ah, cheapskates united 😂
Most dim sum is actually made way before the restuarant open it's doors, like 6 in the morning
