    Another fabulous video! It is pleasing to me that you include all of your experience which at times may not be positive. It makes you trustworthy in my book..along with your descriptors and refined palate. I think everyone can say the may have had a dish or two at any restaurant that didn’t “ measure up.” Great job!!!

      Thank you so much! We definitely wrestle with this balancing act a lot more than we thought we would when we began this. It's gratifying to hear that viewers think we are getting it right. Thank you for the feedback, 😁😁

    Always enjoy your Asian adventures! I do appreciate your fair honest review of dishes. After all, that's one of the reasons we watch, to find out what is worth ordering and what is not. It wouldn't be right if you didn't. Tks! Karla in Cali.

    I appreciate your honesty and still giving firm positive recommendations when you had a bad dish and a couple that did not wow. However I'll definitely go check this out and the Thai place you reviewed recently too, that looked amazing. Secretly I'm glad your channel doesn't have hundreds of thousands of subs so I can still get into the places you recommend!

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh good, I was hoping to not sound horribly negative just because a few dishes weren't good. As former restaurant owners we know that on any given day a dish can go wrong and you turn out less than your best. So, when we go and a dish or two aren't great but the rest are, then we have to discuss the bad things but don't want to turn everyone off to the overall positive experience we had. Rainbow has MANY quality dishes and we're looking forward to returning to get those and try new things. Anyway, I'm glad to hear your feedback!
      As for the Thai place (Weera Thai)...YES...GO...they have fantastic food and I've never been disappointed there!
      As for not having hundreds of thousands of subs, I know, it's a double edged sword, lol.

    5:50 ooohhh fishy fish, I think I’d send it back. I wouldn’t want to chance it with food poisoning. Same thing if shrimp are mushy and doesn’t have that snap like hotdogs.

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree completely and you should definitely send things like that back. As reviewers we just take the one bite and put it aside, lol. Although in this case you could smell how bad it was and so I was prepared to spit it out right away and that's exactly what happened, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    I love this place but last time me and my wife stopped by she got food poison from clams in black bean sauce. Luckily I didn't eat any since I'm not a fan of clams. Haven't been back since but I tried to convince her to go back but she said no.

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, I understand your wife's hesitance. I had bad oysters last year and I didn't want to get near an oyster for the next 6 months! Thanks for watching!

    • @jholly5747
      @jholly5747 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The oysters may have not been the covered of your wife’s food poisoning. You could actually get food poisoning 72 hours after you injustice something. Unless she felt immediately sick after ingesting the oysters they may have been the cause of food poisoning. However, if she became ill much later, it may have been something else that she ate.

    I do enjoy your content and although I can’t get to Vegas as often as I would like. My husband is able to sample your recommendations with enjoyment. I hope this may not sound so negative, but I would truly enjoy if you could explore other food cultures. I absolutely love the Asian food traditions and the excellent talent they provide in their taste and presentation. I am truly curious of the other excellent providers that are out there. Due to my limitations I am not able to explore these experiences, so therefore I try to live vicariously through videos such as yourselves. Please forgive me if I sound troubling, I certainly don’t mean to. I wish you the best in your future endeavors😊 thank you for your hard and enthusiastic work, it is much appreciated

      Yes, I've heard both ways through the years. Not sure why I clung on to "wok high", was probably the first way I ever heard it. Once I learn something the wrong way I rarely can break free of that. I'll keep this in mind for future videos. Thanks for the comment!

    Is Rainbow still sticking with the $1 covid surcharge on every check? It was still there last year when I visited. Never a deal breaker if the food is good. Been there 4 times and food quality seemed to marginally decline on every subsequent visit from the outstanding first visit. From the undercooked sticky rice on the dim sum menu, dry and tough bbq pork, to the putrid and bad smelling shrimp in the har gow dumplings. From the description of your fish in the seafood chowmein… they seemed to have poor knowledge / training in how to properly thaw and store frozen seafood. The Basa fish (SE Asian catfish) most Chinese restaurants use should never smell fishy… I think Taste is the better restaurant in that area. I appreciate your reviews…!

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the excellent comment...Today they call it a disinfectant fee and not a COV fee. And yes, still $1. We thought it was in poor taste and a bad business decision. Furthermore, yes, Taste was, overall, the better restaurant. RK did have some wonderful dishes, but when it was bad it was very bad.

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm, that's an interesting idea. The place is very busy so they should be going through things fast enough for them not to spoil, so maybe something was delivered to them "on the edge". It's very hard to figure these things out. Well, thanks for watching and commenting!

    • @yuletak

      Cantonese/HK style cuisine doesn't usually incorporate fish sauce into most dishes. Since it had a bad fishy taste, almost undoubtedly the fish wasn't even semi-fresh.

      @@LetsEatVegas very fishy is my nightmare surprise flavor in food I order. Too many restaurants in the China town where I used to live just reeked of it. I assume some people just love that so I leave that food for them. If a dish like that showed up in a restaurant I'd just assume that's the way they cook it and my mistake for ordering it. This is why I never eat dim sum without someone who knows 100% what they are ordering. Those salty buns look great but I don't want to order and get some fish or crab filling. But I have cooked with fish sauce and it's great umami and not at all fishy if used correctly.

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very true. Fish sauce if used properly shouldn't create that fishy taste. I also agree with your approach but unfortunately as reviewers we have to 'take one for the team' sometimes and just forge ahead and order things when we don't know what is going to be served at a given restaurant, lol.
