Are the veins of the feathers split before they package them? Just wondering, because I have some full wild turkey wings I use for fly tying that I think will work, but the veins are thick and stiff.
would it be easier to wrap the first one half the distance, then the next one the next half? Seems like you wouldn't have to worry about the other feathers getting in the way of the second wrap.

Does the contact cement hold up well? I thought you might need to string-whip the ends of the feathers.

Look at Clay hayes arrow building video he takes natural turkey features and preps them to fletch an arrow

could work but sometimes the end would unravel and may leave gaps
