i hate that the mom favors one twin over the other and underestimated the other one the whole time.
I’d hate to be her looking at this video as a teen realizing her mom had zero confidence in her. Hopefully Dad will not tire of staying involved and keep her grounded but with extra confidence. She’s going to need it with a mom who doesn’t believe in her. I think even the judge noticed it and wanted to give her extra praise.
@@jaeshasway i think the mom was afraid of the father too though, the dynamic was def weird. the one twin WILL know the other was favored her whole life, my daughter's father was a twin and the older brother was favored over both twins and it literally haunted him until he passed.
Ashlyn is gonna have feelings of inadequacy her whole life if the mother continue this behavior. She will need a lot of therapy as an adult. I was the middle child in my family n I suffered from this feeling for most of my life.

Reality check: the "misbehaving" daughter genuinely does NOT want to be in pageants, and it seems the mother is forcing the issue. When the dad threatens to pull that daughter from the show, it may encourage her to "misbehave" more because she literally sees it as the only way out. Instead, they all need to sit down, at a time where everyone is calm, and talk it over. If she says she wants out, respect that.

I pray that AshLynn never sees or hears how her mom behaved during this video. It's heartbreaking when a parent favours one child over another. Kudos to the dad for realizing personality and what's on the "inside" is much more important than beauty, or what's on the "outside". When this mom sees this video, I hope she is ashamed of how she behaved, and learns from this.

The mom having the audacity to say “I don’t know why I just heard you say something ugly about your sister” when the kid has heard her mom trashing her twin sister is mind boggling.
Good for you, dad!!! Kids should not be rewarded for negative behavior. Mom shouldn’t be so negative about her daughter Ashlyn. She is feeding her other daughter with a silver spoon, and missing out on her other daughter’s ability to shine and reach the stars. Ashlyn will soon realize that and it could ruin the chances of a close mother ~daughter relationship. Mom needs to step up and be there for both of her girls.

The fact the mom says stuff like “I NEVER expected her to win. I didn’t expect that AT ALL. I never imagined the girls winning, ESPECIALLY Ashlynn.” Instead of “I’m so proud of her.” and “She gave it her all.” is just……absolutely disgusting. The only one you saw congratulate her is her dad. At least those kids have one decent parent.
I think it's OK for a parent to be realistic about their kid's abilities. Her kids probably weren't the best performers on the day and yes one child is going to be better than the other at an activity. It's all the negativity before that I didn't like.

I'm so thankful this pageant had a Director's Choice Award to reward what really counts in life: inner beauty & kindness. Not like AshLynn's not a beauty, she's one of the cutest little things I've ever seen, but too often in these pageants they reward bad behavior (even encouraging their ugly tantrums & bossyness off stage) in order to achieve a glossy, high powered performance on stage. Just because little AshLynn didn't "turn it on" like her sister (fakely, I might add) doesn't mean she's any less deserving of praise & appreciation (especially from her parents). Kudos to their father for setting expectations & doling out consequences for the twin who was behaving poorly & bratty. Hopefully the mom will begin to gage her girls on a more realistic life scale, as opposed to what's valued in the pageant world.

My heart hurts for sweet Ashlynn, this sweet child is going to grow up knowing her mother clearly favours her sister and is so obvious about it. But her dad is fantastic though

My heart broke for Ashlyn when Jamie started comparing her *OWN* daughters *AGAINST* each other!💔 The Pageant world hard enough when you're *CONSTANTLY* being pitted against girls their own age!🥇👑👗🏆 I've been told there's some positive from the pageant world, but not enough to go into debt over!! Personally, I feel like you're teaching them *IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!* In some areas of it, *IT'S GOING A LOT OVERBOARD!* Once they reach a certain age, there's *NO GOING BACK ON FIXING WHAT YOU DID WRONG WITH RAISING YOUR KIDS!* BreAnn doesn't have to do any of the gloating when she wins. Again, IMPO, these girls know that they're getting all dolled up, prancing around on stage, & *MIGHT* win the *BIGGEST TROPHY & CROWN* at the end of the day. However, I don't think they've the foggiest idea of what it *ALL* means!! Except when it comes to the *HARD COLD CASH!* LOL 🤭🤭 I think we *ALL* learn what that is at a *VERY* young age, whether we've got any or not!! 💵💸💵 As for Barry, he's got being a #GirlDad down to the *T!* I wished more *PARENTS* would raise their kids like this! Choose the punishment & follow through with it! *NEVER* changing it halfway through B/C they've been acting right for 24/48hrs! I just hope & pray that wasn't an act for the camera, though!! He sounded passionate about his choice to remove her from the pageant! BreAnn reacted in a way that showed she has been punished like that before!! However, we all know that this is reality TV & with that, comes scripts!! So, you just *NEVER* really know *EXACTLY* what's going on inside of their home, once the cameras are gone! 🎬🎞️📽️📺🍿🧂🍻
So, a loving, supportive mom actually put her twins in contests where they compete to outshine each other....no future issues there! 🙄😂

Dad is one of the few people on this show that has sense! I hope Ashlynn grows up and stays sweet but Breann is going to be a brat. Her mom is sooooo up breanns but that she leaves out her other daughter. That judge deserves an award for doing that. Most of these judges are uptight but she saw the sweet and kind girl and gave her that award!

Mom seems to have nothing good to say about Ashlyn who appears to be a well behaved sweet young lady. At same time mom is praising Breanne who acts like a little spoiled brat all day. Thankfully dad remembers he is a parent since mom forgot and is just a pageant coach.

The director didn’t like the way the mom treated Ashlynn. She was giving the praise her mother should’ve.
This is just going to cause jealousy between these two little girls, competing against each other in pageants as twins they should be able to share their lives with each other not against one another I completely blame the whole thing on the organisation of the show
The mom has a hand in this as well. She has zero ability to support her daughter, Ashlyn. Instead, she puts her little girl down and favors her other daughter, who’s acting like a brat. One daughter believes in herself, while the other daughter is being forced to perform so her mother can get attention. Mom is hurting both of her girls and hurting the relationship with her daughters. It wouldn’t surprise me if she was causing a strain on her marriage either. She may lose everything. She has lost sight of what’s truly important.... her husband and her daughter’s.

@@heatherm7290 Absolutely, and this is damaging to both of the girls. They are going to be competing with each other and not just in the beauty competitions. These little girls will be competing for their mom and their dad. This mother’s actions are dividing the family. I went through something, that divided my family up too, when I was growing up. I have also worked with children for many years and I have seen this so many times. It’s very sad seeing children caught in the middle of their parents issues. This mother is trying to live her dreams through her daughter. I wouldn’t be surprised if the mom was very similar to the daughter she shares a closer bond with. Like mother, like daughter... both are stubborn. Ashlyn is more of a sweet, shy little girl, who is trying to earn her mom’s approval. Her mom misses how special she is every time. I think mom should pray and work out her insecurities. I also think she should take her girl’s out of these competitions and spend time with both of her girls. She should get to know her daughters. She might be surprised how much she will learn from both of them. I think dad should do the same. He may learn something as well. It’s hard when everyone is competing against one another. Family time is extremely important. They all need to have fun family time. The beauty competitions are not allowing that. There’s more tension than anything else. Family time is awesome. Mom and dad need their time together too. Date night is necessary for the two of them. The world is already crazy. Slow down and enjoy your family and friends. Life goes so fast and tomorrow is never promised. Love with all your heart and as much as possible. The world needs more of that right now. 🙏🏻♥️😉✌🏻

These pageants must cost the parents an absolute fortune with all the fancy costumes, accessories, hair-do's, nails, fake tans, make-up etc. Only makes the parent feel good, not the kid. The kid's expected to win every time & when they don't get a place, it's like their world comes to an end. Let kids be kids & let them have a childhood, instead of being born & then expected to compete in adult-like pageants where competition is fierce.

Mom- Ashlyn gets very little positive attention for her sweet & good behavior! All attention goes to her sister for her bad behavior! It will truly affect her growing up since being good and Mom’s obvious favoritism of her sister will cause a great disconnect & lack of self esteem! Mom rewards BAD behavior with attention! This is going to ruin her well behaved daughter’s view of life into her teens & beyond! As a Mom of 3 girls I can see this coming from miles away! Wake up Mom!

I loved that they looked different than any other pageant kids...no spray tan or flipper no extreme makeup. And Dad ensuring they were disciplined was a refreshing change.

I guess I’m just getting old, but I miss seeing little girls playing with dolls and nursers and pushing them in little strollers. I remember mom got me a nursers with a real rubber nipple and it would bubble up when I pretend to feed my tippy toe doll. I played with it all day everyday. I grew up poor and dad died when I was six and I had five siblings. I don’t know how I woke up Christmas morning with purple bikes, dollhouses and baby dolls but I did. Please parents let little girls be little girls. I’m rambling but I miss seeing it😢

I think the parents have a "poor attitude". I think the children know they are being pitted against each other and they're acting out as any child would in an unstructured and unhealthy environment. Sitting still and minding, doing what you're told is for real life not this circus! Of course, children should have a good attitude and good sportsmanship when performing or competing but it's arguable that they even want to do this. They're people not puppets and they're only trying to tell their parents this in the only way they know how to :(
