      Hey I discovered your channel a week ago and I LOVE it! I've been following your tutorials and advice and I implemented it in my store. Do you think you could review it and tell me what I should change and/or add? Thank you so much for. everything even if you don't reply.

    • @WholesaleTed

      Unfortunately I very rarely do store reviews on this channel: and I usually only review a store if I have something bad to say about it to help others, I'll be honest! 🙏 I don't offer any sort of 1-1 consultation or coaching programs either. But if you do want to have your store have a chance to be in a video, like these people, you can always drop a link to it in the comments section 🌞

    Ok Sarah...time to critique your channel... First a disclaimer, I was not supported, asked or paid for this. Secondly, I have been watching for couple of years..well now to fun stuff.. does it fulfill a need..yes! Is it informative..yes! Who am I fooling? You're awesome! I always look forward to your informative and down right brutally honest reviews! But at the same time you are letting them know what they did wrong you give them example of how to do it right..absolutely love it. Now if they can only get over their bruised ego and fix it! Oh yeah guys...get over yourselves learn from a real pro! As always Sarah you are a double thumbs up 👍👍 from me! 'Moose out!!'

    Profitable! Thanks, Sarah! It took 6-7 months through coronavirus and tough budgets, But my store is now covering all ads plus monthly overhead. It was definitely harder than expected, but fun and I learned a lot, so who cares. Taking your paid class definitely helped get me over the final hump. I'm very happy I stumbled upon your videos.
    Some questions: How do you deal with Shopify's awful bulk editing? Find and replace in descriptions iand HTML is missing, meaning a lot of edits that are simple on other platforms take hours on Shopify..
    Also you often recommend upselling t-shirts to mugs. THe problem is mugs require extra shipping and the profit is low. I wonder how you manage this.
    Thansk again Sarah! Really pleased.

    • @WholesaleTed
      @WholesaleTed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Congratulations!
      1) I deal with it because it's one of the best on the market... yes... that IS one of the best on the market for small to mid sized stores for most things it does 🙈 it's a good suggestion though at add that to the bulk editor, I'd like to be able to update product page html in the bulk editor, submit the suggestion to Shopify, they do add things that their customers request! Same with the find/replace option.
      2) It depends on how your store is priced, I sell my mugs for $25, there is plenty of profit there, in business, a high profit margin is 20% and I easily clear more than 20% profit (people often have wildly unrealistic expectations with profit margins I find, and think anything under 40-50% is low) with my mugs at that price (on Printful, even without a discount, are about $8 + $7 for shipping, $15) but mugs are literally just 1 example, I just bring them up as an item you can try, it's not because mugs are magically special. You can test other higher profit margin items, like tote bags, hoodies, etc. Totes of course have much higher uptake by females though so maybe go with a product that appeals to both genders equally in your niche is male orientated or unisex 🙏

    Wow! Just wow! People commenting about hunting t-shirts are literally insensitive and toxic? Instead of learning why that t-shirt was successful they straight up went to comment section to write their nonsense.
    Please, Sarah don't listen to these people no matter how controversial these t-shirts were they were in fact as you said really good example to show why certain designs might be very successful. Just ignore them we should be able to learn regardless of feelings of certain people. And most likely they were those who downvote your videos just because they want(haters)
    Also I want to thank you. You are a great source of inspiration and your videos motivate and inspire a lot of people around the world! We all should be thankful

    Made me remember a woman that frequented the open access computer lab I ran, advertising an in person class on making tshirts and posters. I cringed because I knew for a fact that her flyers were 3 pages long, all caps, 5 or 6 tiny pictures and not relevant clip art, in 20pt comic sans. That’s what the flyer for the class looked like, too. She couldn’t figure out why no one signed up.

    Great advice! So many gems. Teespring will advertise your product on their site, but only after you build your trust score. I was very lost on that when I used them before. Trust score is built by making a handful of your own sales, no copyright issues, and spamming. Unfortunately, no official way to tell when the score has been built, but if you check your traffic it should be noticeably different once that as occurred.

But then I would have to pay for advertising for my store right? So maybe I start with the 3 platforms until I bring in some money and then open my store. What do you think Sarah?

    The fact that hunting is contraversial is it's self controversial, in this context. Politics is marketable but only focusing on one side seems a bit silly. The people buying your products do not care about your personal politics they only care about if the product suits them. There are people that eat only vegan and only carnivore our job as creators is not to take sides but to find the niche that is under represented and see if there is a market. So we can make a bit of money and the buyer can get an awesome product. @Wholesale Ted love the content and the brutaly honest reviews, never sugar coat it just tell it how it is. cheers m8.

    Talking about copyright laws, is using quotes of famous people such as Einstein, Shakespear etc breaching any kind of copyrite or is it allowed?

    I've spent the last 3 weeks of testing Printify suppliers and most of the results were mostly bad. I am so discouraged to even start my store... I finally know who I want to work with so I guess, I'm launching in august finally!
    Please consider doing an extra call to review e-comm clubhouse member's stores! I think it would be fair to charge something extra for that. I'd love to submit mine and I'd love to see your comments on others' stores!

      So, my favourite supplier, Monster Digital, has created t-shirts onpar with the quality I would expect from Printful, which is why I recommend them.
      One tip is something I discussed recently in Oberlo's podcast (www.oberlo.com/blog/how-to-launch-a-profitable-print-on-demand-store ) is if you want to test suppliers, NEVER order sample products. Always pay full price. It's a genuinely confusing thing, but POD suppliers seem to skip a step in control quality when creating sample orders, which I am assuming keeps their prices low (since sample orders are discounted). So the quality of products you get it always worse. So if I ever want a sample order from a supplier, I always play full price 🌞

      @@WholesaleTed Sarah, thank you so much! Your course has saved me from a lot of pain down the road. I remember that in one of the calls you mentioned to never order samples, always pretend to be a customer. So what I did, I placed the order through my website where I had listed my shirt for shipping plus manufacturing cost. I doubt they figured on their end that I am testing their products.
      I have a tricky design with chakra symbols inside a lightbulb. It has 15 colors and is very detailed. I basically had this same design made by 4 different providers, including Monster Digital. I ordered it on two different shirts because also wanted to check out the model of the shirts. On both shirts, they had stretched out the fabric while printing which resulted in the design being elongated vertically. Maybe I can use them for simple text designs, but for more complex graphic design I must nope out. So far my favorite is Print Geek. It's more expensive, but the quality is absolutely amazing.

    Thanks for letting everyone know. I bought a shirt from store that cost them $0000 and 0% risk?!?? About to start my own Tee shops. Not one lets just open 20 of them. Everyone don’t by T-Shirts just make your own.
    BTW Nice to see the Queen on Australian Benjis! loL

    Teespring is problematic in that;
    a. they gouge the consumer and seller on t-shirt prices,
    b. they gouge both consumer and seller on shipping,
    c. their "trust score" keeps your designs hidden from TeeSpring traffic until you have driven somewhere between two and ten sales to your storefront by yourself.

      I'm also not a big fan of Teespring. As a POD provider, they produce very middling quality products. Plus their internal traffic is extremely low anyway, so you don't really get any benefit from Teespring traffic by posting there. They don't advertise aggressively like RedBubble & navigating & finding good products is much worse. It isn't designed to be a destination marketplace. If anyone can afford to spring for a Shopify subscription & open a store themselves, I'd always recommend that, but for some people, they literally can't (especially if they live in a 3rd/2nd world country where $29 USD is a lot of money) and so Teespring is an option to get started with 🌞

    Hey. I'm still a little confused on upsells. Shopify says use the compare at price to put stuff on sale. You've said to set compare at price for ALL products at double the actual price, right? I did that, turned off the sale globe, and conversions today were 12%, so I'll keep it like that.. So when setting up upsells, you've said to do it with out the discount but to make upsell items appear to be on sale. But without the discount, the compare at price isn't displayed in Smar7. I'm just confused how you are implementing sales if the compare-at price isn't available for it. So far customers have clicked past the upsell popup.
