    You should look into walking in Knoydart... from Glenfinnan to Inverie. You'll have similar amazing views and almost no people. Very remote and unforgettable.. great vid. Takes me back to 2002 when I walked this with a friend

    Hi Andrew. I was linked to this video through Carl's West Highland Way video. Very enjoyable watch. I was out on the WHW in September but unfortunately couldn't finish due to injury. Looking forward to getting back out there in spring and it's videos like this that are getting me pumped up again to do it.

    Great vid Andrew. I'm going again in April for the fourth time ( I think I'm addicted) but this time taking a day off in FW then walking back. I also wear Altra's but with dexshell waterproof socks, never get blisters but I also have a very lightweight gear setup which also helps.

      @@andrewanderson68 does it matter which path you take around Loch lomond high or low, or are they before the cross roads

    • @andrewanderson68
      @andrewanderson68  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I took the low path which went through some of the bluebell woods, but there were also some more after the paths met back up.

    Hey, very nice video. You are doing some heavy miles.
    I see that you are using Altras. How do they deal with the rain and the wet conditions in general? Do you wear some waterproof socks?
    Regards,
    Reiner

    • @andrewanderson68
      @andrewanderson68  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Reiner, thanks for watching.
      The Altras were perfect for me. Normally I get blisters when I wear heavier boots but I was blister-free the whole trip. They're not waterproof in any way though. I figured I'd get wet feet eventually, and the Altras dried much faster than my old hiking boots.
      I combined them with a pair of merino wool socks. They're not cheap but they dry quickly and keep the worst of the bad smells away! I haven't tried waterproof socks, but that could also work.
      Take care -Andrew

    • @JimBobele
      @JimBobele 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrewanderson68 Thx for the quick answer. I really like the Altras as well. I did some hiking this summer in Utah but there it was totally dry ;-) Maybe I'll try it with the waterproof socks as an emergency backup.
      Happy hiking - Reiner

    Hi Andrew - which shoes are you wearing and do you recommend trail shoes over boots for the route... ????

    • @andrewanderson68
      @andrewanderson68  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, I wore Altra Lone Peak trail runners and they worked great for me. Only problem is they weren't waterproof. I find boots give me blisters but ultimately it's all down to preference and what you're used to! Cheers -Andrew
