    My son used Kilmat on his El Camino cab complete. I have a 1967 C10, the videos I have seen end up using 50 sq. ft. total. Just a guideline with high Center hump. Already had a “J” roller in my tool box, worked great.

    Blown away by the deadening comparative sound on ur roof. Nice job altogether. Thank u for the video info and suggestion for Kilmer. Thant’s my choice.

    I took a break from the hood as well. I'm over it. Lived it. Almost died twice from it. Got arrested 4 times too many. Now I'm just living a normal life.

    Kilmat is definitely not dynamat with a different label. That being said, they are both very effective for sound deadening. I’ve installed both and kilmat is a great value and a good option although dynamat is a very good option for full blown installs or for treating problem areas needing a bit more attention. Use whatever works for your application and budget.

    Love those old trucks. The sound deadening will help a lot and adding closed cell foam on top would help a great deal more but….. it just depends on your end goals wether it makes sense.

    I use Knukonceptz Kolossus Edition 100mil. But I did pay like $416.08 for a 60 sheet shop pack as I'm overfilling my car with it to make it dead quiet. I love seeing these kind of videos. Not that many people on youtube show you the detail work you did here. Thanks man! 😎👊

    Just started watching your progress. Looking good. I guess I need to check out the beginning of your project.
    Had you given any thought to Lizard Skin before putting down the other heat shield which really seals everything exceptionally well, plus the extra heat repelling.

      hey Jon
      i did look at lizard skin ,but they dont have one that does both sound and heat you have to do their sound first and then heat and it can get thick .....but it would be so easy to just spray it on like i did the raptor liner .... thanks for watching

    • @jsh3234
      @jsh3234 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@classictruckaddictions7423 My thought was to put the Lizard Skin on for the initial heat and to seal everything against moisture, like inside the doors etc. Then the other panels for additional heat and sound.

    Dynamat extreme and kilmat are both 80mm. Same thickness. Kilmat is easy to use. Packaged better and cost 1/3 as much. I’ve used both. Buying the kilmat is a no brainer. Don’t buy noico. It stinks like rubber and the adhesive is toxic so you are suppose to wear gloves when applying it.

    • @millcreekrange
      @millcreekrange 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be 80mil, not 80mm. Big difference. 80mm would be over 3” thick. Mil is one thousandth of an inch. 80mil would be about 2mm thick.

    • @Van1018s
      @Van1018s 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@millcreekrange I just miss typed. The way it’s measured it takes about 800 mil. Or 10 layers to equal 1 inch.

    • @millcreekrange
      @millcreekrange 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Van1018s ok. But for one inch, it would be 1000mils. Hence the term thousandth of an inch. My line of work we use thousandths (mils) as well as microns on a daily basis.

      I'm headed over to Amazon to do some pricing & comparison; I have to take some measurements & tally up $ before I make my purchase. More than enough is ok, not enough is never good (that's what the old timers taught me when I was a youngin').
      That company should really look into making you a Rep or a sponsorship; you're representing their product well.
      Before I saw your video, I was dead set on using SecondSkin or buying bulk "budget brand" from partsexpress.com

    I don't mean to be a dick but it doesn't look like you went over the kilmat with a roller. The instructions say to use a roller until it's flat. Maybe I you did this later on idk, just saying. Using the roller is by the far the hardest and most time consuming part, laying it on there is the easy part.
