You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you pronounce Pokémon correctly. So many youtubers, and even pokétubers, always say it wrong and it hurts my soul.
I've played Moemon(emerald at least, couldn't find a good Fire Red hack), and it's a good deal harder than the original, and there are some major changes, like being able to find other Hoenn starters in the wild, finding starters from other generations, and fighting what I assume to be the creator where he has lv. 100 Pokemon. it was not easy to beat him, but it was a fun challenge, the sprite work is excellent, and it was fun to have all the starters without trading, although I prefer my original Emerald team.
Moemon is great for the diabetic spritework alone, in my opinion.

I've played the Moemon ROM, and some of those sprites are REALLY adorable. I sometimes caught Pokemon just because it was that freaking cute.

Ever since Pokémon Go, my dad always bothers me about it and automatically assumes I'm obsessed with it by constantly asking me "did you find any pokeymin here" whenever we go somewhere.
There’s something odd about my mind, the first thing i think of when i saw the pokemon in moemon was “can I pet it?”
My brain just wants to hug first, ask questions later. Then probably hug again, i don’t know, they look really cute, the metapod was in a blanket, it’s adorable.

Well, that's basically correct for the Pokemon anime... The thing is, in America the word cartoon implies stories for little children. But the words Anime and Manga don't. There are several types/styles, some aimed for kids, some for teenagers, and some for adults. And I don't mean hentai, which is obviously for legal adults. Seinen and Josei are styles meant for adults/young adults, male and female respectively. The stories in those are usually more mature (art styles vary, but are often less exaggerated too).
And often the stories are much more grounded in the real world... Like the struggles of a guy who ends up lending his new apartment to his boss because the new building the company was moving to tilted and his house was the closest option at the time (they couldn't use the old location anymore and the moving truck wasn't going to wait forever). So he ends up having the struggling, little company he works for invading his home for a while... All at the same time that a teenage girl with a troubled past joins the company (since the boss woman knows the girl's mom and wants to help...). So yeah, not a "cartoon" per se.

Ant should take another look at Adventures Red Chapter, it's very different than it was back then. It has both the Kanto Region and Orange Islands both with their own stories, Orange Islands being entirely original. Dialogue profiles for the characters including separate emotes, brand new npc designs and an entirely new set of graphics closer to that of the Heart Gold/Soul Silver games.

My favourite Fakemon, and maybe general ROM hack has to be the english translated Pokemon Vega, especially since I found a shiny Velvelt in it! The fakemon sprites look professionally made, and look as if they would be real pokemon, it has a great story, good puzzles, and you can catch a really good amount of legendaries.

hey antdude if you havent red the manga you would probably really like it, because it doesn't pull punches like the anime. people fight, poekmon fight and die and so on. hell an arbok gets cut in half at some point. but it's story is really well written. I would honestly think you'd love it
My four favorite rom hacks are: Pokemon Prism, Ash Grey, Adventures Red Chapter, and Glazed. XY Naturia's a good pick too, but if your looking for new pokemon in old games, Brown and Prism do it much better, with their own story.

My younger brother and I have been playing since the beginning as well. The Christmas they dropped our mom got red for myself and blue for my bro with matching Gameboy pockets'! I still had my big brick Gameboy so that was cool.
Pokemon Sweet version is legitimately fun in a very weird way. The way you get an Eevee (or Cupvee) is literally BAKING ONE. Berries are introduced as a large mechanic for this purpose, which for a Fire Red hack is impressive. (And planting them has a chance of crashing your game, so be careful.)
And then there's the required questionable parts, like the Poison status analogue being Hunger, which makes the creatures literally eat themselves out of hunger. Yikes. Also thematically consistent, so good for them.
You know with over 700 Pokemon already, Generation VII will be interesting in what it will bring.
Also, only 720p60fps, nice AntDude, nice.

Luke12C I honestly didn't mind the fact that there were only Unova Pokemon. It gave the newer generation the same feeling the Gen 1 had. Except, Gen 5 was better and more difficult (Ghetsis especially). Black 2 and White 2 were also amazing, and are my favorite games in the series.
Well, Gen 6 and Gen 4 are overall better I'd say, mainly due to the awesome spinoffs...but yeah, 5 is also pretty good. It gave us Pokemon World Tournament, PokeStar Studios and permanent TMs after all.

I have Pokemon Sweet version and I'm stuck in Pudding Town, the area that homes the first Gym. My starter was Strawander and now it's Straweleon. I seriously hope he evolves into a strawberry named Strawzard or Charberry.

5:56 Oh my God that's the Ace Attorney Investigations manga volume 1. I'm a huge Ace Attorney fan and have started collecting the manga, and honestly, I thought I was the only one who gave a crap about the manga spin-offs.
Now that I've played Sweet Version myself, I want to see the creator make a crossover game between PokéSweet and normal Pokémon. It would probably take an actual game using a fanmade engine to achieve this, but it could just look like a normal Pokémon game on the surface until your player character starts baking dessert sculptures of Pokémon, which come to life as the PokéSweets. The reason I say it would have to be a new engine fangame rather than a hack, is cause you'd need to have both the original Types and the Sweets' Types. All the Sweets' types would be weak to Poison, Water, Ground, and Fire, no questions asked. The Sweets would also be Nuzlocke, while your normal Pokémon just faint normally.

Pokemon Chaos Black was actually my first Pokemon game when I was a kid, as a bootleg cartridge (I live in Indonesia). The first REAL Pokemon game I played was FireRed, which made me SO CONFUSED when I went to pick Flaon again and it turned out to be Charmander (I was even more confused when I eventually got Flareon).

This is what I've heard, but I can't remember from where exactly. Vietnamese Crystal was a school project. The project was "translate this game from Japanese to English."
It was supposed to be a translation project but they somehow destroyed the entire coding.

There's one hack which is Ruby with all Pokémon replaced (mainly name and sprite, types and learnsets are the same), bikes replaced with roller skates, player characters also replaced, and some profanity. Kinda wish it was here so I could remember the name. lol
There's also ShinyGold which is FireRed turned into Gold.

Antdude, check out Pokemon Glazed and the Pokemon Dark Rising series. Glazed has a great story, new region, and inclusion of Johto. Dark Rising is a story driven series with 2 main series entries, 2 spin offs which connect directly to the plot of the main series, and a 3rd entry in the works. Here's a list of the order of Dark Rising games
1. Pokemon Dark Rising: Worlds Collide (Has Pokemon and DIGIMON)
2. Pokemon Dark Rising I
3. Pokemon Dark Rising II
4. Pokemon Dark Rising: Order Destroyed

Pokemon Dash was the first DS game I ever bought (my very first game ever was LeafGreen) and I know it's not...good...but I still enjoyed it
