Hey guys and welcome to todays video where we are talking the hottest ingredient in skincare - Glycerin.. Remember a lot of serums already contain glycerin so check yours as you might not need an additional serum if you already use it in one :) love you all xx

HUGE fan of glycerin! It's one of the main ingredients in my favourite body wash (Naturium's Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash). Hope you had a lovely weekend! 😘

@MadAboutSkin as a child in Mexico, my mother used to order a liter of rose water from the pharmacist. They would blend it for the customers. I do not recall if it contained glycerin! Drugstores in the U.S. carry a tiny section of Latin products and there one can find a rose water glycerin toner that is wonderful.

Growing up I saw that many black ladies used only glycerin as a moisturiser, and their skin had no wrinkles even at like age 60. It is still a popular product, looks exactly the same, a glass bottle with a blue lace pattern on it. Dolly Varden which costs about ZAR24 which is about GBP1.

I love glycerine mixed with rose-water for my face and body. I've had bariatric surgery and loose skin is just a given with rapid weight loss. I've found that using this mix whilst my skin is still slightly damp has helped a lot. I was recently on holiday and didn't feel too bad in a bikini 💓

For amazing price, I think the best option are the FarmStay ampoules, are also XL, all with Niacinamide and something extra that give the name to the ampoules, only at night to be really generous feels so recovering and plumping as you say, the texture is like aloe gel.

I use glycerin for tattoo healing, its been amazing. I wash new tattoos with an unscented soap, rinse, pat dry and then wet my hand, drip some glycerin on and smooth it over the tattoo and leave it to soak in. It doesn't work as well if you don't use a bit of water with it, it just sits on the skin and does not soak in. From how you've explained it working, it will be pulling in that water to the surface layer of skin. My artist is always amazed at how quickly and well i heal. They usually recommend palmers cocoa butter but that breaks me out!

They're just humectants. They're both good for everyone, but neither will penetrate deep into your skin or have any direct influence on the way your skin works. It'll just keep it from drying excessively.

Hi Rob I have long said that I far prefer glycerin to HA as it never gives rebound dryness. My rosacea and eczema prone skin never has any sensitivity to it like it can with other humectants either. Whilst it will draw moisture into the skin it doesn’t seem to pull it out of the skin like HA and can be used in any climate. I don’t mind if my hydrating serum is a little bit sticky as I am putting a moisturiser over it anyway. Best wishes x
Ps it’s just weird that glycerin is having a trend moment when it’s been around forever.

I will use glycerin sometimes during the winter, but I live in Sacramento, CA where it is so hot and dry most of the time that glycerin will actually suck the moisture out of my skin in the summer. It's so weird! I wouldn't recommend it for folks in arid environments

Where are transparent labs based. I am assuming not uk. Is there any glycerin serums you would recommend from uk based as I prefer to buy in my own area so I don’t risk added taxes or other charges. Thanks ❤️

Hi Fiona.. how are you? Yeah I agree it's easier to buy in the UK for sure. the MAS serum has a good amount of glycerin (and will be back in the next month) also the boots glycerin and rosewater toner is £1.50 and is also amazing :) ... Love x

Can glycerin be used as a conductive gel?

    • @enaom
      @enaom 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Glycerine, is not commonly used as a conductive gel on its own because it is not electrically conductive. Conductive gels typically contain water and electrolytes to facilitate the transmission of electrical signals. Glycerine can be included in conductive gels to help retain moisture and improve the gel's consistency, but additional conductive ingredients are necessary to make the gel effective for microcurrent devices.

Great question and I dont think it would be great option for this as it is not electrically conductive though you might want to check with a professional in electrical current lol.. love x

Dr. Shereene Idriss has a good vid on why Glycerin is so good and better than HA as a humectant.
    th-cam.com/video/Y4ooL6YzDRg/w-d-xo.html
For Glycerin based products I like the Vichy Normaderm moisturizer which has Glycerin as the second ingredient plus 2% Salicylic Acid and Sarcosine. Another one I like is the SVR Sensifine Aqua-Gel formulated with just 8 ingredients, this one's a little tacky but you can fix this by spraying some thermal water on the face before applying it.
