This was an amazing experience with some incredible people. Very honored to be on those risers with all of them!
K.J. McAleesejergins You are so cool
I’ve always wondered. How do singers, such as yourself, sing anything like this, or Whitacre pieces, or anything with such harmonies that tear at the heart strings, without bursting into tears from the joy of the ineffable, thus narrowing your throat and causing a whole bunch of other issues that hinder your singing abilities?!
Wow! You all did such a beautiful job, and genuinely brought tears to my eyes. You have such a gift for music, and I hope we see much more of you in the future :)
Great performance! May I say that you're IMO one of the most underrated Baris in the scene right now? Your blending is ridiculous. Keep up the great work!
You prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
This is one of the best barbershop memories I have ever had. Coupled with singing Keep the Whole World Singing and "Oh Yeah!" as loudly as I possibly could with this chorus immediately after.
I can hear it now
Oh hi Stephen! You know I'm looking up more videos after our video session on Monday, lol
Amazing job! Though I will say that part of me was waiting for Tim Waurick to jump out and do the post by himself. 😝
That tag sounded like a hecking freight train!
It's not often that you can get a chorus of this size to be so dang in tune!
Everything about this entire arrangement is incredible, but I'm so impressed by the note held from 3:05-3:35, and all the beautiful chords surrounding it!
The best part is none of the guys singing that note sing it the entire time. All of them stagger their breaths and come back in so seamlessly that the post is still very strong and sounds like one amazing post!
@@rockman221 Bull, I think Chris Vaughn sang the whole post 😂
@@GeorgeMammarella Check out 3:29, pretty sure he held out until the final note and then added some gusto!
@@rockman221 Wow, that's amazing! I just assumed they had held out that note for its entire duration (also I couldn't tell who was singing what because I kept only focusing on one person haha), but I know how hard it is to stagger breaths in such an inconspicuous way!
In the original Vocal Spectrum quartet version, the tenor holds that note the entire time - that's how that long note made it into the arrangement in the first place :)
OMG, that was breathtaking and so inspirational. This song is my anthem for you see, I have a autoimmune disease that attempts to kill me everyday, but by the Grace, Power, and the Glorious Love of God I make it through. I will listen to this song when I am down and don't want to fight anymore and when it is my time, when my distance is run......God will call me Home.
I'm proud of you for sharing this on the Internet, and for fighting so hard each and every day. On the tougher days, it's okay to feel discouraged and dispirited, but art and music can truly be uplifting and inspiring, and I'm glad you've found something to keep you fighting. You're amazing, and if you ever feel lonely or discouraged, please feel free to reach out to me (however you can on this site lol)! You're not alone :)
@@jillianbuckley5570 I was amazed and a little shocked by your comment-- in a good way. I really don't see myself that way and I don't feel like it's about me anymore. God has put me on this winding path to let His love and goodness shine and for people to see the infinite love of God. You are so kind and I am truly grateful for your comment. May your soul sing out with music and when our distance is run, we will see the Face of God and sing His praises Forever and ever, Amen.
@@bigdjunta Apologies for taking such a long time to reply to your comment! Thank you for your beautiful words- I'm sure they come from a beautiful soul, which is why I hope you continue the fight and love yourself the way you deserve to.
WOW, this gave me goosebumps. Solid group of singers, and what a way to hold a post at the end. In those last few seconds I swear I heard a d flat an octave above the bass, so either some bass has got some good range, or the overtones were really ringing.
Wow, this medalist chorus sure knows how to sing. Harmonies are terrific, and the arrangement becomes sick after 2:19. Playing on repeat!
So thrilled to see the Quin-Tones among this mix!
Keegan Connolly we were extremely thrilled to be a part of it. It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure:)
Totally!!
Sang this song a few steps up for the midwinter convention with my youth mixed chorus (its on this channel) and this song has so many memories attached to it I cant help but tear up every time I hear it. Beautiful work and I cant wait to be able to attend every convention I can in the future.
Ganz grossartig. Danke an alle Sänger
I think this might just be the most beautiful vocal performance i´ve ever heard
I can only dream to be in such a group where we mix our voices saddly 😢
jesus. wow. best thing ever.
Stunning tag!
love midtown man
Midtown is going to be teaching at a music camp this summer, the camp is called Lakeside A cappella camp and It is a great experience. Consider going there :). Here is the website www.lakesideacappella.com/
@@bonezilla4109 Will that still be held given what’s going on?
@@JoelERea Yes but it was rescheduled to be later into summer
Fantastic!!
Gave me chills
Chills!
Casual 30 second post
It's easy in a choir I think. Because if you are running out of air, there is more people singing the post, so you can breath and join in again
The problem with staggered breathing is not going slightly flat in 30 secs and being precisely tuned-no slackers. This group pulled it off quite amazingly.
Thank-you for sharing. :)
Wow!
Just. Wow.
Good Lord that was incredible. Just pure 🔥
Amazing, gentleman!
I sang this with Ohio’s OHX camp last year. The memories...couldn’t help but to sing along
Great song nicely done.
💖
Me, the first 0:00 - 2:29: Oh this is nice, very enjoyable.
Me, starting at 2:30: Holy cow this is unbelievable 😮
Wow, incredible!
I love the performance, but what's with their standing order? It's bothering me.
They are mixed! :)
have a question, did vocal spectrum sang this song in the past? or is even older than that?
Yes, they did. This is the David Wright arr. that you can find on the VS (white I think) album.
@@zackarysemancik5491 it's on their second album
Someone please tell me the name of the man that just held a 30 second note!
Actually the tenor of each quartet held that note for that long. Those would be Paul Saca (Signature), Dan Rubin (Throwback), Puck Ross (Quorum), Chase Guyton (Rooftop Records), Nick Gordon (Midtown), Caleb Hayes (Wildfire) and the te or of the Quin-tones, but I don't know his name.
Its actually the leads... ;)
@@singingdan1 thanks Daniel, I didn't check the info with the video. So used to Vocal Spectrum having Waurick posting that note.
Then, those would be Daniel Cochran, Sean Devine, Chris Vaughn, Dustin Guyton, Anthony Fortino, Stephen Goldman and the lead of Quin-Tones.
Fagner Sousa it was definitely Chris Vaughn posting for Quorum 😂 he’s all I can hear
Love this song and arrangement especially when I first heard it years ago. Great job but I think groups have to do more current and new arrangements to keep folk interested.
I agree. Every time I've seen high school educators introduce barbershop to their students, the new material is always along the lines of Lida Rose, Sweet and Lovely, etc. It's VITAL to learn about the classics and where barbershop came from and to develop a love for the roots of barbershop, but educators need to be progressive as well, and give them a real idea of where barbershop is nowadays. That's why I'm glad we have quartets like the Newfangled Four, who sing hilarious arrangements, but there's a distinct lack of high-caliber professional barbershop exposure in schools, unless the director happens to be a barbershopper.
This is the number one reason I want to come back as a MAN! You make it sound so beautiful and look so easy!! I don't get goosebumps very often through youtube videos but I got them with this!
Good grief. The overtone is legit as loud as one of the other four parts!
where is NF4?
They didn't medal that year missing by less than 5 points
Who are these singers ?
Very interesting !
Was very good !
But i'm sure you can do better with some improvment !
This is so beautiful, but I cannot unhear the awful feedback throughout the video :(
