That's the baritone, they're the filling that makes the 4 part harmony. Much of the time their job is to not stand out and to make everybody else sound better. Their baritone is quite good at his job.
Alot? the bari is the power of the chords. 3:12 to the end he arguably has the most important part. Sometimes the most important things in songs are things you dont even necessarily hear, but feel. This is why when trying to sing this back to someone its easiest to find and sing the melody or highest note. Doesnt mean the other ones dont need to exist, there is a reason he is furthest from the mic. Tim James - he has an extremely forward placement, but not nasal. Nasal goes beyond that, by a lot. Chris has a bright and forward tone with tons of depth. He has one of the best ranges on a bass that I’ve ever seen. He goes down to B1 in one of their songs. And as you can see in this tag he sings very high. But again, his placement is extremely forward, but not nasal

When does that happen? The bass never goes above the tenor in this arrangement.

Actually, in the tag, both the Johnny (baritone) and Eric (Lead) go over Tim (tenor) while he's posting.
In the original version of the VS tag, the bass actually drops down to the tonic at then end and hence comes within one not of Tim's post

We think so. Nobody's sure if the video of it he posted is unedited, but we think so from what we've seen. That's the general consensus, anyway.

Yup! When they perform it live it starts in B and modulates to C, whereas the album version starts in C and goes to C#.
