For anybody wondering yeah the 970R can and does eat grass that fast as long as you can hang on. Deere gave a demo 3 years ago and we’ve never looked back.
Awesome video friend, me and my two brothers have 1025R tractors and JD zero turns and we have excellent service out of our JD products, my older brother has almost 840 hours on his 2021 1025R and me and my other brother has over 200 hrs so far on ours, and our dealer who we deal with is amazing and that makes a big difference in owning any equipment.
Did you consider any of the smaller options, like the Z500 series? Would those handle 3-4 acres like what you mow? Would tweels and Z-Glide also fit on other zero turns? Which other brands/models did you consider?
Yes the smaller zero turns would absolutely handle this property. For the first year, We borrowed my dad’s 2006 John Deere 720A to mow. It was a 48 inch. It was a great cut. No issues with the zero turn. It took much longer to mow. Not as many creature comforts (no tweels, no comfort glide seat.) We also mowed a few times with our John Deere 2025R tractor. I value my time the most that’s why we went with a big 72 inch. At the time I did not consider any other brands. The ones I was mainly looking at were the Z970R, Z994R, and Z997R.
I have used the Cheetah’s very briefly. Like 2 test mows. Very nice machines and they cut great. Not as comfortable in my opinion. Engine is reliable. The ones I used had a permanent mulch deck, so it bogged down easy. I have never used a 960M but they are very heavily used commercial mowers. I’d say whichever one yoi get, make sure you get a comfy seat with air ride or some sort of suspension.
It’s all personal preference. Both do a good job. If you want to mulch if, the 60 inch is better obviously. If you want to throw it out the side, the 72 inch throws it far!
Just want you to know my toddler chose this video over Ms. Rachel and watched the entire thing with enthusiastic commentary 😂
Amazing!
Lol thought me and my 2yo little dude were alone putting this on repeat 😂
I'm watching it now because of my 5yr old one 😅
Currently watching with my mower obsessed 2yo 😂
Awesome Machine----thanks for giving us the tour!!!
Who else enjoys the smell of fresh cut grass?
🙋♂️
With petrol fumes
The mower was nice and so were the two lovely dogs

That’s great! John Deere has great service in my area. Kubota as well

I think the dogs need more credit for this video production!
John Deere is not half of what it used to be. I used to love John Deere but now I’m going to try an X mark mower.
We love our Deere’s. Great company building good machines. Xmark are great also
Love these mowing videos do you upload once a week doing that ?
Our goal is to film more often this year. Josh mows and Andrea films. Andrea just finished college so she will be available to film more often now!
Hey I am looking at the z960m with a 31 hp Kawasaki. Give me your opinion between this mower and the SCAG Cheetah 2 with 38 hp? Thank you

This video is great
What a machine! That would have killed my Cub cadet ZT1 50”
😂
What blades do you run?
We run the stock Deere blades. Have 2 sets of it
how's the 60 vs 72 cut quality and clumps?
It’s all personal preference. Both do a good job. If you want to mulch if, the 60 inch is better obviously. If you want to throw it out the side, the 72 inch throws it far!
Can a collection basket be installed?
@@martinpsenek6861 I believe so, but check deeres website
How many blades does it have
3 blades
Do the tweels smooth out the ride too
I believe it makes it smoother. Absorbs the bumps.
Shame that the motor sounded louder than the mower, Sharp blades as always.
They are very sharp
Beautiful and perfect thank you kisses nice so good
If he drove slower would it leave less clumps of grass? I would not want my yard to look like that after!!!
@@JJBIRDIEGOLF we would rather get done quicker
You can only mow that past if the ground is smooth. If there are ru😊ts and bumps, it’ll throw you right out of the seat.
Thank you Dry Run Outdoors kisses
why you need a tractor their? when you have that beast running 12mph
We put about 80-100 hours a year on the tractor. Plowing snow, brush hog, grading the driveway, loader and backhoe work
@@dryrunoutdoors right but no mowing my point
Wait that’s tall grass? Hahahaha
Checkout episode 14 - that’s real tall
