Is there a way to wire auxiliary driving lights so that when they are turned on they will automatically go off when the head lights are dimmed? We have a 2022 Ford F 150 Lariat. The separate switch is very awkward to have to hit 2 switches when meeting oncoming traffic.
Dealership said it couldnt be done but it works that way on our Freightliner after market lights
Nice video, how long is the bar, I have a 2011 platinum wondering if it will fit. I have that same empty space on the front of mine. I mostly want one just to fill in that space.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. The light bar is about 2 feet long. Link in the description 🤙🏽
22 inch!
After all, have you found any battery drain or something to worry about due to connecting direct to an always on fuse?
No issues as long as your switch is off 👍🏼
Did you have to cut the brackets that hold the plastic piece where the light bar goes?
Nope! You just need to cut holes in the plastic / rubber sides to get the brackets through
Where did you wire up the 3 amber led’s to form the grille?
Hey! So I just grounded the negative, and spliced the positive into the running lights.
Nice job! Does anyone know if an led lightbar will draw power even when it is off? I can't seem to find the answer!
If it does it’s very little. I’ve had my light bar for over a year and no dead / low battery issues 👍🏼

Not if U hav the switch turned off; assumming that U wired it properly n the 1st place; ultimately that's what the multimeter is for, so U can check for voltage after installation (a test list will work also).
@@troyfuller3767 Thank you. I found out it's my factory radio in a 14 Ram 2500. I put a multimeter on all the fuses. Only solution was to put a battery tender on it when I'm not driving it for a while.
Did you drill the hole for the switch?
Yes I did. With a step drill bit
How did you mount the light bar the way you did?
The kit comes with L brackets that attach where the bumper is bolted into the truck. All hardware included. Link in video description
Cool video and very professional. This is how they teach us in technical school when doing wiring . The right way ! 💪🏻🫡
How do you connect light bar to high beams?
That’s a great question. You’ll have to trace down the high beam positive wire and splice the positive light bar wire into that.
Is there a high beam low beam fuse?
There is a fuse, but this light bar only has one brightness. On or off.
What is the reason for a relay? I would think power/ fuse to switch to light...
The relay is so that you dont need to run as much heavy wire. Think of it as 2 circuits or loops, connected by the relay. When the circuit with the switch (with lighter wire) is triggered, it activates the circuit or loop with the heavier wire that powers the lightbar. The power going to the lightbar needs heavier wire than the light going to the switch. But you certainly could use heavier gauge wire all around with a fuse and be fine. Hope this helps!
@@MagargeeFilms thank you!
How do you know what relay to get
Just get any weather resistant automotive relay, they are all wired and work the same
What size wire did you use?
16 gauge
What size light bar is that? 18 or 20 inch?
The light bar is 18” wide. Amazon link in description 👍🏼
@@MagargeeFilms Ok thanks! Do you think a 20 inch would fit in that space or is 18 like the official size for that area?😅
@@daultonmccoy8369 I put a 18” light bar in mine and it fit perfectly. I think if you tried to put in a 20”, it would be too big.
