Been here since April of 2023. I found you from a yz250f video as i needed help fixing a friends bike. I’ve watched every video since, even what seems like thousands of yz250f videos haha. Keep up the great work! Your videos keep me motivated to keep working on bikes!
Another awesome video. Good to see videos with correct info. Too many channels with shadetree work and band aid fixes at best with just wrong information. Keep it up man.
No thankyou....your my hero...lol. Idk if your interested but I have a 92 RM125 crank that needs rebuilding. I'll give you a pretty nice fcr off an 09 yzf250 (has throttle housing, both throttle cables, hot start cable...everything in great condition)@@restoroosterohv
I would be happy to rebuild your crank for you. $100 + return shipping you supply the parts. I appreciate your offer on the carburetor, but it’s not anything that I need right now.
Enjoyed this video, great tip on 2 stroke carbs, thank you / my weak spot. Got a laugh out of the YZF story. I'm just finishing 3 of those that I should have parted out but my ego wouldn't let me. Great learning tools with limited returns 😒 Have you ever seen and 03-04 steel oil frame Yamaha get plugged up?? Would love to see the video on why you pulled the plug on that YZ
There is a screen at the bottom of the frame tube on those that should be taken out and cleaned occasionally. I hear you on the ego but am learning to choose my battles. Thanks as always for watching and commenting.
Kind of a wild question for you and you might not even see it but I’d like to ask. Would you ever consider doing a revival series on a customer bike? Bike(s) in point would be 1990 CR250r, I have two. Think it would make for some killer content and I’m honestly no two stroke guy, feel like I’m doing the bikes a disfavor after the years they’ve sat in the corner. Would love to see atleast one of them revived by someone who knows what they’re doing.
Hello sir, Yamaha yz250f 2013 motorcycle. Just replaced the cylinder block with AHL brand. But the problem is there is thin smoke coming out. Can you give me some input? Thank you.
There are a number of reasons for smoking. First off, what is the color of the smoke? If it is white it could be as simple as condensation burning off in the exhaust or as complex as burning coolant due to a crack in the cylinder, head or gasket. If the smoke is black, it is running rich and will generally smell like fuel and potentially burn your eyes. If it is blue, it is burning oil. In this case I would look at the piston ring end gap measurement and particularly the placement. Also, the valve seals in the head could be worn or damaged. Hope this helps
@@restoroosterohv Thank you sir, I will try LG. I made a mistake. I bought a 77mm cylinder block and I used a standard Yamaha 76.94mm piston. If the gas lever is pressed, quite a lot of white smoke comes out.
Great work resurrecting this gem
Thank you
Just came acroos your channel! Solid advice, seems like you know what you are talking about. I subbed and wish you success, ill be here watching!

I know it's a shot in the dark but I'll pay. Don't really trust my local bike shop anymore. I've been bent over too many times to go back.

I love it this videos❤
Thank you
I do believe that is the year that Suzuki brought back the old style front forks and it was a bad idea
1996 to 1998 they used the standard fork. In 1999 They went back to the inverted fork.

Someone has had that engine apart before I never seen blue gaskets
No doubt about it, it’s a 1997.
Do you have a videoo on how you make your jugs for the crankshaft installer and the truer? Thank you so much
Episodes 45 and 78. Thanks for watching
Are the rooster shirts out yet?!
Haha, no sir. Need to come up with some cool designs and work out the logistics.
I might be wrong, but I don't think that RM engine has ever been split. That's probably the factory crank.
Being that it is a 1997, I would be shocked if it’s never had any bottom end work, but who knows?
@@restoroosterohv Me too, but that stator side case was just TOO clean.
Regardless, it’s been split now. Ha ha.

If the engine is turned on, there will be several small bubbles in the radiator. If the cover is opened, the smoke will look white.
Sounds like you could have a bad head gasket or warped/damaged head or cylinder.

Dan saya membuka lagi mengganti piston ukuran 77mm.tetapi gasket cylinder tidak saya ganti.karena dia hanya saya pakai hanya 30 menit saja.
What the name brand of that press
It’s a Harbor Freight 20 ton press.
Hi my name is Ben, and I'm a 2 stroke aholic
Hi Ben, welcome.
