This is definitely a perfect example of what P-Bandai should be. I will also say, to my surprise this guy has held up better than my MG the ORIGIN gundam. You wouldn't think so but somehow something about the soft plastic used on the ORIGIN has made it the most loose kit on my shelf.
Is it me or is the MG Orgin much lighter than other MGs? I took mine down to refinish (it was one of the first MGs I ever built and I want to clean it up) and it felt much lighter than the MGs I have built recently, Hyaku Shiki and GM Sniper II.
@@fattiger6957 The ORIGIN actually doesn't have a lot of runners. And on top of that yeah the runners do feel lighter. The Hyaku-Shiki however is a plated kit which makes it heavy. The GM Sniper II which I also have is a unique case. It is strangely heavy. It is based on the 2.0 after all. I find older kits like the Zeta 2.0 to have this kind of heft to them.
@@bitetheaspyes, I have seen it at my local HobbyTown. I recently bought some Mr Color Cobalt Blue and Sky Blue and would eventually paint G3 model. I think a blue RX-78-2 is very beautiful, and the Casval RX-78-2 is quite pretty, too! The 2.0 Gm, Zaku, RX-78-2 are like my three holy grails despite them being common, the Zaku which I have built is a masterpiece and truly worthy of a detailed painting job both frame and exterior armor. I wish MG were still like that…
I wish the shield and beam sabers were more color-wise simmilar to the gelgoog, yellow beams, yellow saber handles, yellow shield trim, and navy center
After watching this, I remember and do have my tiny old-gashapon Casval gundam figure, which unfortunately lost from my ol cousin and got my shield left. Oh well.
I built the Daban KO. It was fine. The only change I made was use some of the junk beam saber handle parts in dark red for the tips. Oh, and used the cross part for the shield.
Fun fact: you can get PG version of this kit, if you look hard enough. (Non-unleashed classic) And its literally *three* times the price of normal PG for a paintjob. And a casval miniature (who is clearly not Char) BUT I want it.
I want this kit so badly! I’ve wanted it for over a year. I tried making my own with an Entry Grade RX-78-2. Just want food with working with putty. So, I never could get it to work.
I'm still in the honeymoon period of being a gunpla builder, but when it comes to P-Bandai I am definitely a cynic. I see this and I just think to myself, "why pay 3x the price when I can just buy a standard one, repaint it red then get some custom decals?" I'm 100% sure that we only got a standard release of the G3 MG 2.0 because P-Bandai wasn't a thing yet when it was released.
@@hairynames9704 P-bandai is more of a problem due to scalpers and limited availability...meaning that if you miss their window, you're paying a massive amount more for it
@@AzraelThanatos I hate playing devil's advocate in defense of Bandai, but the availability issue vis-a-vis release time frame is an issue for ALL products in a collector or hobbyist market. Missing a P-Bandai window is no different from missing any of Bandai's normal release schedules for any of the kits that Bandai routinely neglects. The-O, Turn X, many RE100s, etc prove this point. Even the MG Hi-Zack was wildly overpriced for a period. If they're not evergreens, they'll jump in price once the market recognizes low inventory, which is not a scalper issue but instead a natural element of a market price system dictated by the desperation of consumers for a rare luxury good. That said, bots can still be an issue with P-Bandai, which is a systemic scalper issue.

OYW RX-78-2 is still my favorite MG version (and maybe the most under-rated RX-78-2 ever), but the variety of red shades on this one are stellar. A great base kit to show off the Casval/Char colors.
It’s 3 times faster than other Gundams
Only after they remove the limiters
All you gotta do is believe with and ork

Just bought one and I’m even more excited after watching this. I’m not great at painting yet and dammit I want a red granddaddy Gundam.
You hear trumpets when this thing flies.

the Char/Casval's Gundam colors might be the inspiration for the Trans-Am mode colors of the Gundams from Gundam 00.

the MG G3 2.0 was actually released on December 2009 the same year and after the July 2009 release of the first P-Bandai.

Wow, super jealous for such kit
The 3.0 is an amazing kit. Minus the hands. Wish they made Chars favorite color blue though.
A Titans version of the RX-78-2 existed in a game (I think the same one as this one) and that's navy colored.

Char forever. The true protagonist of the UC.
