How did you get the update to install? Mine keeps failing?
You can connect the box to your mobile hotspot on your phone to allow some functionality, i.e. the browser will work to browse other sites.
Mine fails, too.
Shiva, the USB on/off I'm using is a Raspberry PiSwitch USB-C On/Off switch.
How do you keep the browser from switching off

I might buy this product in the near future especially after watching all your in-depth demos, Q&As, etc. Even with the very tiny lag, I think this box is very beneficial if you want to use Waze, Google/Apple Maps, etc and whatever else that comes with Carplay/Auto.

Still not clear whether Tesla apps will work while CarPlay is in use? I need both to work at same time
Any idea or recommendation to resolve the issue with AirPlay? I’ve been having connection issue to AirPlay (error: unable to connect to zj-airplay), and it wouldn’t work even after I reconfigured the connection (I.e. forget device and connection)
Great video. Really enjoy your content. Quick question. Both my wife and I have iPhones that we use with our Tesla. Would this work if we connected the box to both of our iPhones via Bluetooth. Would we both be able to use CarPlay? There would be two possible scenarios. One is that either I or my wife would be driving the Tesla alone. The other is that we are both in the car with one of us driving the Tesla. Thanks so much. Keep putting out the great content!
@DanielHolstein Hi I have the box and can answer your question. You can have multiple devices connected but if both of you are going in the car it will connect to the last connected device. So one person might have to turn Bluetooth off until the other person connects.

I’m in the US when I lunch the browser and it’s connected , if I put the car in reverse when the reverse camera comes on and how so those the browser, how do I keep the browser open

For me, when I shift to rear and drive again, Tesla navigation takes over the screen and I need to touch the screen to have the browser up again. Is there a solution for that?
Hi Shiva, thanks for your video. Can you suggest any solution when my Tesla in Drive mode , the Browser in Tesla is disappeared, so I am not able to use CarPlay/Android auto with the box. I am in Australia and my Tesla version 2023.4.16 . TIA ⚘️
Hello, unfortunately I believe that is a regulation issue in Australia. As soon as you put your car into drive gear, the browser becomes unavailable. This device will not work for your region. Sorry!

I'm also in Australia and wanted to know the answer to this question. Tesla rep in Parramatta said the Browser still works in drive mode, isn't this the case @Leona?
Is there a default password for the Wi-Fi box when trying to connect to the car?, my box seems to have arrived with no instructions 😢

Does this require a sim card? if not, do I have to keep my personal hotspot turned on my phone at all times?
Sim card not required and you don't need the pereonal hotspot either. Just Bluetooth and wifi needs to be on and it works seamlessly. Thank you!
can you still use your phone as your key if it connects to the Android auto device?
or will you be able to answer calls from your phone ?
Hi, yes you can still use your phone as a key. You can answer calls as usual via the car.
I am running into an issue where wth android auto it doesn't detect my "Ok Google" or when I press the mic button in the AA it doesn't hear me. Does anyone know if that is just a problem that will need to be fixed by the device OTA or is it my phone. :\
I seem to have the same problem. Updated my firmware but no go. I can't even reply to messages with voice.

Best CarlinKit T2C mini-box review & troubleshooting video. But I realy need someone to troubleshoot Android Auto without a SIM card. Car's WiFi connection rapidly connects then drops then reconnects, and so on. Updated firmware and "Forgot" home network to eliminate conflicts. Will try the heavier cable to maximize voltage. thanks

I can't get Netflix or HBO Max to play on the Tesla screen with phone mirroring. The Tesla shows a black screen each time. TH-cam seems to work fine. Is anyone else having this problem ?

@@jeffcoles3642 I'm able to update. Does your update say "failed" or do you not see the version change? I had to unplug the box then plug it back in. Then when I go back to the update site it shows the new version. After the update try giving it like 5min before you do anything.
Green light is always flashing. After clicking the "Check for Updates" button, a "Failed to check for updates (10001)" error is always displayed on the webpage. My current firmware version is 202303141537.
@@charlesjordan2845 Sorry for the late reply. I was on travel. I still cannot update unless the latest version is 202303141537. When I go to the update site, it just hangs and says "Checking for Update" now. It does not fail, just hangs.
Seems to be junk to me. My green light is always flashing. Carplay crashes constantly and I can't even uograde. Just spins until it finally says "failed to check for updates error 10001". Also no reply from customer service.
I am sorry to hear that you are still having issues. I have sent this feedback to them and will let you know asap. I am also pushing them to contact all the customers and fix these issues.
I’m having the exact same issue. Identical.
And it interferes with my phone Bluetooth connectivity.

Didn’t work either but thanks for for a different approach. I also tried with a droid with no kick. It also seems I can only get CarPlay working not by Bluetooth but when my device connects to the unit Wi-Fi. Both my phone and tesla need to be on the same Wi-Fi for CarPlay to work. Bluetooth connects but does nothing. Send them an email. Hopefully they’ll send a replacement as well. I think Shiva is the only one with a working unit. I’m assuming the company tested the crap out of it before sending.

Mine is not working anymore after latest Tesla update to 2023.26.1. When I go to web link the screen remains blank. Anyone else having this issue? Correction?
I upgraded the firmware and all seems to be working again.
No. I have never seen any Vlogger demo the Android Auto functionality with an actual Andorid.
Anyone having issues keeping the device connected to the phone via Bluetooth? Initially when plugging in device it connects to the device but then 10-15 seconds after it drops the Bluetooth connection

TMA shipped fake and damaged items; I will never do business with them again..
