HERSHEY'S "PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE CAKE" CHOCOLATE CAKE
Grease & flour 2 9-inch round cake pans. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2 cups of sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
1. In a large mixing bowl add all dry ingredients. Mix well with a whisk.
2. Add milk, eggs, oil and vanilla to dry ingredients. With an electric mixer, on medium, beat for 2 minutes. Whisk in boiling water until smooth (batter will be thin).
3. Add cake batter equally into prepared round baking pans.
4. Bake for 30-35 minutes of until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.
"PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" CHOCOLATE FROSTING
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine
2/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Melt butter over low heat. Whisk in cocoa until smooth.
2. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating on medium speed to spreading consistency. Beat in vanilla. Add more milk if needed. Frost cake!!

I started making this 12 yrs ago for my daughters birthday. She turns 22 tomorrow and I am baking it now. My tip is to use 1 cup black coffee instead of water. It makes it even better😊
I made this tonight for my son's birthday & it was amazing! I substituted the milk with buttermilk & subbed the hot water with hot coffee. You don't taste the coffee, it just deepens the chocolate flavor. It was so moist & rich!

Omg!! I just made this chocolate cake.. It was sooo delicious.. Everyone here ate it all and was asking for more.. I ran out of oil, so I used melted butter and I added 1tsp black coffee in the 1c of hot water.. Thank you for sharing this..❤❤

Love how cheerful you are and how you explain everything well. Use some Wilton cake straps around cake pans, perfect flat topped cakes every time and edges of cake are nice and soft. Adds a couple/few minutes to baking time but makes a big difference!

I did try a small piece because he was raving about it and I have to say it was very moist and tasty. I made this for my birthday omg this is the best chocolate cake I tasted.I never wanna try another recipe ever.I made three 2 layer cakes and frosted with them with chocolate ganache and butter cream. I did a small change, instead of hot water I added brewed coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor.I made the cakes on the 20th Jan and on 24th Jan,tasted the last piece left.. the cake was still moist and flavor hasn’t changed a bit. This is the only chocolate cake I wanna make for the rest of my life.

I just made this cake last night and it is heavenly and for those who are like me who had to convert the 3/4 cup measurements I just did 12 tablespoons and it equals out the same. And with the 2/3 cup for the coco powder I just did 10 tablespoons or you can do 1/3 cup and fill it up twice and that will equal the same as 2/3 cup.

I made this cake for my 40th Birthday last week. I did not have Hershey's Cocoa Powder. I used my local brand. Chief Instant Cocoa Powder. It was Delicious! Moist! Everyone who tasted it loved it. I was even asked if I taking orders.
I have a large bag of cocoa that was given to me when we stopped making triple chocolate cookies at work. It works just as well. I just keep refiling my Hershey can with it.

Did not use Hershey's but used Bendorps as alternative.
So yummy!
I also used hot coffee instead of boiling water only, and yeah, really made the cake tastier.
Edit: I also have left over chocolate Frosting using the above recipe, it is so yummy! Just like a melted chocolate. Can be used as spread.

I just made this and OMG!!! It’s so decadent and moist! I didn’t have enough vanilla extract for icing so I used Coconut extract, it came out amazing! I will never use vanilla for the icing. Please make this cake if u haven’t!

This is the absolute most amazing cake, aside from Costco Chocolate Cakes of course! When I make it I use a 9x13 baking pan and pour the frosting on as soon as I take it (the frosting) off of the heat! It's a lot of frosting! You may gain 20 pounds with one bite, but it's ok. Worth it!
