This video helped me. I did the data restore twice because it didn't work the first time and I really didn't want to wipe my data. The second time it worked and thank God it did. So many hours of bloodborne I've put in this week just to platinum it. I'm so relieved right now
This is for the last option (7): If you are getting the usb device not recognized, make sure the thumb drive is all the way in. You should see it light up if it has a light on it. Also make sure you dont have a game disc in the ps4. The OS will try and boot the disc first instead of the usb thumb drive. Hope this helps.
3 hours of nonstop trying and #6 did it! You saved my ass man. Hours of downloading deleting and redownloading software and I didn't need to waste my time with any of it.

When I press the ps button it takes me to a screen saying " connect a usb storage device that contains an update for reinstallation for version 9.03 or later." And when I press ok it turns off and does it again

And if that's screen pops up again , I'll unplug the extra storage box and then I just nuke my PS4 again. YEAH it won't reset everything but luckily all my saved games are in that one memory box I can replug it again and all my saved games are safe THANKS GOD

Thank you. This worked. I had to try the “hold power button and wait for the beep” at different phases. It worked when the notifications were done and it said I needed a USB. After that part, the screen went off. The lights on the ps4 changed and became blue flashing. I did the button hold then. And it worked. The options of safe mode 1-7 came up. Thanks

@Altoelder Great video, but i think a lot of people, don't know to boot up in safe mode first. As they are trying to follow the video, from the crush loop. That the PS puts you in if you have had a bootup issue. It's always better to just shut down the PS, even if you get this message on bootup.
I hadn’t played my ps4 for about 3 months and this happened but instead of starting with option 5, first I started with option 3 and then option 5 and it worked I had a system update so maybe try that if your in the same situation as me

Yep, worked...key thing was to unplug power chord. Hold power button, 7 seconds or more until it beeps twice. (have to wait for it) follow his instructions. Tried 5 didn't work, but 6th step did the trick and rebooted it. When we turned it on initially and tried to the the above, it failed. So unplugging it is the trick.

PLEASE READ, In order to fix error code (SU-41333-4) you need to install the correct system software to your USB drive. It’s easy to download the incorrect one (500mb) version it’s on the same page as the (1000mb/1gb). Make sure when you download the correct file you have sub folders. Example, PS4 (mainfolder) -> UPDATE (subfolder) -> PS4UPDATE.PUP (the software file should be inside the second folder. This is how your PS4 reads and acknowledges that there’s a manual USB update. Hope this helps! Cheers 👍🏼
SIDE NOTE, if this does not work your hard drive is corrupted. You’ll need to replace it. But before doing so ensure you’re using the 1GB software not the 500MB version. They can easily be mistaken since they’re on the same page on PlayStation’s website.

Replace your hard drive. I've had that same problem and tried all fixes but none worked. I just changed my hard drive and it works fine now. I hope it helps, good luck.

if downloading the file doesn't help like it didnt for me, you might want to try installing a new hard drive. hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new ps4 and it works. good luck
I've tried every possible way to resolve this issue... eventually I gave up & went to step No. 6 on the safe mode screen which says "initialize ps4" .. then my ps4 started to work fine but I've lost all of my data, so I had to redownload them from my online storage

When I start my ps4 it says checking system storage and pause at 25 or some times 27 this was my new hdd buyed 2 months ago but now when I have this issue I initialized my ps4 it turns on and when ever I turn off it again it goes to checking system storage and says download the system software 7.50 and I update system software using internet it gives a error code or sometimes it starts and again when I turn of same process starts.

I tried literally everything. 5 and 6 did not help at all and i have a flash drive and i made sure it was in all the way and that no disk was inside and nothing happened. I downloaded that stupid 7.00 file several times following the correct steps and it tells me the update file can not be used

I called PlayStation customer support they said that if nothing is working and resolving the issues that i was having that you can request for a repair they send you a box and you put your receipt in with your ps4 and either they fix it or send you a refurbished one also it doesnt matter if your warranty is over you can still pay a $90 fee and get it fixed anyway which would be cheaper than going and buying a whole new console the only reason you get most of these error codes is because the consoles data is corrupted which is cause by the ps4 not being turned off properly and if thats not it i don’t know what to tell you hopefully this helps you guys :)

I can't even get into safe mode. I've sent my ps4 to sony to get fixed twice in two months now. It always works ONCE. Of course, I have to initialize and get everything set up. Then if I shut it off, it won't boot back up. Playstation has suggested I replace the HD. I'm like... isn't that why I paid you and sent it to you? Fed up.

Click "cancel" then wait for your console to shutdown, then hold it down again. worked for me.

When I start my ps4 it says checking system storage and pause at 25 or some times 27 this was my new hdd buyed 2 months ago but now when I have this issue I initialized my ps4 it turns on and when ever I turn off it again it goes to checking system storage and says download the system software 7.50 and I update system software using internet it gives a error code or sometimes it starts and again when I turn of same process starts.
Same here any fix?

when i click 5 6 or 7 it says cant initialize or cant access system storage however after retrying like 100 times no exaggeration it worked and told me to connect camera asked date and time ect then when on ps4 home screen attempt to re-download fortnite the system crashes and re-ask for update file from usb i got it to fix the ps4 4 times and after about 2-5 mins of it being fixed looking factory new it turns it self off and back in safe mode loop what is the fix to this if you know and if you dont know can you say you dont no so ik to just take the L and get a new ps4 thx
I have this error and my PS4 keeps looping through the same thing. No matter what I select it goes back to “Connect Dual Shock”

What do I do if non of these options work?😅
I tried literally everything. 5 and 6 did not help at all and i have a flash drive and i made sure it was in all the way and that no disk was inside and nothing happened. I downloaded that stupid 7.00 file several times following the correct steps and it tells me the update file can not be used

I called PlayStation customer support they said that if nothing is working and resolving the issues that i was having that you can request for a repair they send you a box and you put your receipt in with your ps4 and either they fix it or send you a refurbished one also it doesnt matter if your warranty is over you can still pay a $90 fee and get it fixed anyway which would be cheaper than going and buying a whole new console the only reason you get most of these error codes is because the consoles data is corrupted which is cause by the ps4 not being turned off properly and if thats not it i don’t know what to tell you hopefully this helps you guys :)

I can't even get into safe mode. I've sent my ps4 to sony to get fixed twice in two months now. It always works ONCE. Of course, I have to initialize and get everything set up. Then if I shut it off, it won't boot back up.
Playstation has suggested I replace the HD. I'm like... isn't that why I paid you and sent it to you? Fed up.
Yea they sent me a box to put my ps4 in an send back to them but I didn’t trust that at all knowing that they will make me pay to get it back an fix it even under warranty 🤦🏽♂️
Unplug the ps4 and hold the power button for 30 seconds then plug it back in.
See if that works
