U will need a usb drive, connect it to ur computer and go on the playstation website and download the file u need then connect it to ur ps4 then the safe mode should pop up or do what this video says
Legit just happened to me I put the 4 in safe mode then intializrd my ps4 but it takes all your data unfortunately but if you played online games like cod or fortnite you data will be there but you have to reinstall all your games which takes hours and hours
I just encountered this error this morning it is an absolute nightmare thank you for your video as I do not have a working laptop. I suspected I could reinstall without a USB drive but I wasn't sure and this video really helped put my mind at ease you do have to reinstall all of your games which is The Nightmare part but at least your PlayStation isn't a brick so there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I am still in the process of re-downloading my games so I'm not sure how I access my saved game data but I know everything has been backed up to the cloud so hopefully that will be automatic.

@imp dev so I made my ps4 into factory mode, because it was really slow. Then I sent it to Sony to repair it, and then got my psn account and I still had my fortnite skins, I don't know about disk though.

It's called blue light of death and I'm having the same problem and trying to fix rn as im typing and im not sure were ur at on your ps4 but u can go into safe mode and try to reupdate it and if that doesnt work change resolution and that might work for me personally I tried that and it worked but then my ps4 keped freezing and go back too the blue light of death every couple hours after repeating the process and then it said I cant turn it on unless I use a USB to reinstall update and now I'm stuck so ya but for u if you can still get into menu you can back up data from online storage and then reset your hole console and then log back in and redownload your data

I’ve done all of the options multiple times, including the final one, and it still won’t fix it. after I finally reinitialize it, it brings me to the home screen, but everything is slow and glitchy, and as soon as I boot up a game, it shuts down and forces me to do the whole reinitialization process all over again. I haven’t been able to properly use my PS4 in over a month now.

The USB boot for option number seven does not work even if you format is usb and add drivers.
Click it and then it will say no usb detected then it will take you back to the menu
