  • I think Concrete statuaries are amazing- especially if they add color to the garden! This concrete Turtle weighs 56 pounds! #gardenmagic

I posted a video a couple days ago, showing how I paint the concrete. Thanks for watching!

I wish we had someone around me that made Dragons, Turtles and other cool stuff like this. I am so jealous. However I can always enjoy yours here on video. It's better than nothing.

I love your colors. I am going to be painting a large dinosaur for my neighbors. Your color scheme is perfect. Can you tell me your colors please?😊

@kimberlyanndesigns1 - thanks!! I used black all over. Then dry brushed on it with a sunny yellow, Apple green, teal and turquoise …
Your dinosaur will be beautiful! You can use outdoor acrylic paint but concrete (masonry) paint is best for long term outside😁

Hey, I know this is an older video. But I’m curious, after your black coat did you dry brush all the other colors including the underside of the turtle shell? The shell looks opaque to me, just trying to learn. Thank you!

@cassiemullens4059 Yes ma’am- after a complete wet black coat I let it dry really good. Then yes, dry brushed all the other colors. The underside of turtle shell is a greenish yellow I mixed on my own. All outdoor acrylic paint. Then you’ll want to seal it with clear acrylic spray. It’s fun! Thanks for watching! 💚

@@cassiemullens4059 so she has held up pretty good for a couple years! But I am noticing some chipping now , of the paint. So, either I didn’t let the black paint dry long enough before I painted the other colors? OR, I didn’t seal it as good in certain spots - so i need to touch it up just a bit. It’s very humid in Ga and I think it may have been a factor. I may try a masonry paint on my next project just to see! There’s also the masonry stains to experiment with!
