I was born in Mount Vernon in 1950 and my mother and grandparents were all Mount Vernon residents. Going back at least four or five generations and my grandfather owned multiple businesses in Mount Vernon. That said, I don’t think a single person in our family would ever repeat, ever move back to Mount Vernon, as it has become nothing more than a slum sewer of a city.
