This video illustrates the importance of the art of history taking which clearly allows the physician to distinguish between the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and thyroiditis! It is prudent to be able to distinguish between these two conditions as the management is completely the opposite.
Biochemically they may look very similar to an untrained eye therefore when presenting to your physicians office please make sure your physician takes time to listen to the entire timeline and history of the symptoms. This will allow the physician to clearly guy the right treatment plan from the beginning.
