Thank you! My $3,000 disability chair has been quite a letdown. I struggle with chronic back and pelvic pain, and what I really need is something soft-like sitting on a cloud. Unfortunately, I feel more like I'm perched on a hail storm instead. The chair is covered in zippers. But now, I feel ready to tackle this project and transform it into the comfy, fluffy cloud I’ve been dreaming of. 💕
I have watched several of your videos already and I found them very helpful ... And, may I say, you are an absolute doll! You're kind, helpful and smart- my kinda guy. Thanks for the videos and the helpful info.
Great video thank you, I have been restoring a older recliner, I you have helped me out a lot. I will go to my local upholstery shop and see if they will sell me some of that stuffing /foam material.
thanks! My footrest on my recliner thats only a year old is completely separated/squished up so Im going to add some padding to the footrest. Mine doens't have a zipper but I can see it will be super easy to sew up or I many even add a zipper!
My recliner does not have zippers on it like the one you have shown. So this did not help me. I thought it would be as simple as that but. This will have to be taken apart then stuffing adding then put back together. Not an east to do. Ill just buy a new chair. Thanks for the video. You did great
I have a reclining sofa and the piece my husband sits in has a caved in adjustable headrest with NO ZIPPER. I would like to cut it and restuff. It. He NEVER adjusts the headrest forward so I’m thinking I might be able to do a rough sewing job that would not be see from any angle. Do you think this is feasible? Any suggestion for the type of filler? Thanks. Love your video.
Polyfil is the most common stuffing in the back rest. If you remove the backrest from the seat and remove all of the staples On the back, you could gain access to add stuffing. If there is no zipper on the inside, cutting a slit, adding poly fill, and then sewing it back shade will work just fine. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend doing it from the front side.
I have a kid with a condition that causes her to get sick fairly often. We have almost this exact recliner. She vomited in it this weekend. Do you have any recommendations on how best to get it clean? We steam cleaned it to start with, but I feel like we aren't getting all the way down into it. Thanks!
I would like to see a video on how to replace the padding on a sofa recliner foot rest. Both my foot rests padding are smashed down to nothing. I know it is probably easy but I’m elderly and need to see it done.
What about the footrest? This recliner isn't even a year old yet and is sagging down where the feet and ankles go. There's no zipper down there but I think I can remove the Staples and then stuff it with polyfill re staple it?
I think it's made my Lane. No all that's under there is cloth with Staples in it for the footrest. The back like you did has a zipper but there's two straps coming down for reinforcements. So I would have to work around those straps to put the stuffing in for the lower back part. Thank you for the reply though
More than likely have to unbolt it for the mechanism, remove all the staples and add additional padding. Unless you have one where there is a zipper. Some models have zippers are you can easily add padding.
Thanks for a really useful video but please, please, remove the annoying electronic music on a loop in the background - reminiscent of an irritating 80's video game.
This was great but the Real Problem with all these recliners is the flat forward part of the leg/foot rest, how do you refinish or repair and or replace as it looks flat and non serviceable

Glad it was helpful for you
Thank You, I thought I would have to toss it or cut it. Watching this I found that my double recliner has zippers. You are amazing!!!!
So glad it helped! Thanks for watching

Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much, this is something I can do with my old favourite, and much cheaper than trying to dispose of a chair and buy another one
You are so welcome!
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Good video. I have almost the exact same chair, but in a love seat duo recliner setup. glad I found this video. thanks!!
Glad it helped!

I'd go to Walmart, Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics to compare prices. ☮️
Got some from joanns,thanks $11.00,worked great 👍

Awesome and good luck!
Good video my gaming recliner is feeling a bit flat on cushioning so going to give this DYI fix a try
Good luck!
@the323vlog4 all good never knew Joan had stuff to fix up a recliner lol the filler worked perfectly
Great job! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you ❤❤ great job
Thanks!
What brand of chair is this ? It looks nice ! Can this be done with La Z Boy ?
I would imagine so, those are well
Designed. I can’t remember on This one. Probably rooms to go or Ashley’s

Yes, the style you have is quite difficult to add padding to. I don’t blame you for your decision :)
Excellent video 😊
Thanks for watching!

That’s the route I would have gone. The foam may need to come out and be steam cleaned as well
This is a great video and very helpful. The music was horrible.
Sorry to hear that
that is true it is annoying, you really do not need the music.
Wonderful!
Thanks for watching and the support !
Can you link the video that you mentioned to access the back stuffing?
It’s This one I believe : Adding Padding To Your Recliner (No Zipper Access)

I would like to see a video on how to replace the padding on a sofa recliner foot rest. Both my foot rests padding are smashed down to nothing. I know it is probably easy but I’m elderly and need to see it done.
Thanks! I will try to find an opportunity to film this issue.

They usually have zippers on the underneath side? You don’t see any on your model?
I think it's made my Lane. No all that's under there is cloth with Staples in it for the footrest. The back like you did has a zipper but there's two straps coming down for reinforcements. Gotcha! Yeah, I would remove the Staples and add some padding and reinstall it
nice video.. my recliner manufacturer has not provided any zipper in arms to pad them. can you advise how can i pad those?
If there’s no zipper, you would need to split a seam, add padding, and sew back together
Looks just like my past Lane big man's chair. I still have a second.
Thanks.
My pleasure
How do you add padding to the foot rest its self. I swear all There is is a board there
More than likely have to unbolt it for the mechanism, remove all the staples and add additional padding. Unless you have one where there is a zipper. Some models have zippers are you can easily add padding.
@@the323vlog4 Thank you so much I will look today
@@shenadeering8976 great, thanks again for watching!
Can you show how to do a reclining sofa or loveseat?
I don’t have one in the shop at the moment, but it should be the same concept.
Managed to get the back off but unfortunately I don't have any zippers
Bummer
where do I order seat foam ??? I tried lazy boy co. I get phone run around...
A local upholstery supply store should be able to accommodate you.
@@the323vlog4 I don't know of such store.
@@randallderr8519 I’m sure there are online retailers as well, but I shop local. Might take a little research on your part
This is all well and good, but what about the chair that has no zippers? Can you show doing a chair like that?
I was thinking I had a video like that on my page, but if I don’t, I will make a point to do one in the near future when the job comes up
@@the323vlog4 thanks, I will look. I just found you!
The arms on mine have to much stuffing on the seat side, how can I adjust that without zippers?
After you remove the arm casing, if there are no zippers you’re pretty much stuck splitting a seam, removing the padding and then re-stitching it
Thanks for a really useful video but please, please, remove the annoying electronic music on a loop in the background - reminiscent of an irritating 80's video game.
Thank you for the feedback
It would be nice to see how to do one that doesnt have zippers
I believe I have one on My channel of that issue. it’s a lazyboy restuff . I did it recently. Probably in the last 5-10 videos
Are you able to do a corner one or a chase couch?
I’m trying to replace a corner one but it has wires underneath the padding
I will try to film that next time it comes up, but it’s not very frequent unfortunately.
Do you service Somerville TX
Yes ma’am, I could make it out there. Feel free to send me an email and let me know what’s going on, thanks! The323concept@yahoo.com
Is there a way to reach you?
Yes, write the email I mentioned above, thanks
This was great but the Real Problem with all these recliners is the flat forward part of the leg/foot rest, how do you refinish or repair and or replace as it looks flat and non serviceable
There is usually a zipper underneath for the bottom portions. Have you checked to see if yours has that yet?
I need to reupholster the footrest on my Lazy boy recliner…Help
Usually only four bolts on the footrest and then you just need a staple remover (Osborne) and pliers to remove all of the staples to put new fabric on
Where are the zippy.
?
Same mine no zippy.
K....now what if they don't have zippers...
I’ve had success cutting and opening and sewing it up afterwards
Arms need filling .

Can I have video to repair our lazyboy armchair.
